Anybody wish you could merge limited units more?

I wonder if it's a good idea to release "Fake" Heroes as event rewards that could be used to merge to any unit you want. they can't be put on teams and they won't appear in the plaza. I feel like adding merges could make limited units and GHB units more viable in the arena since units like zelgius and stuff are already +10 cause whales.

I'd already envisioned allowing us to trade in two 5* units and maybe a bunch or resources like shards/crystals, stamina potions, feathers, etc and in return we could +1 any unit we wanted. So essentially by getting rid of twenty 5*s that I don't use I can get my Winter Tharja to +10. I'd do that in a heartbeat.
