Any point to ordinary Ike?

I pulled Vanguard Ike in the Legendary Banner and my plain old ordinary Ike is looking rather redundant. He is sitting on 9,999 SP and 3,000 HM from his TT awhile ago... But is there really any point to him anymore? Vanguard Ike seems to surpass him in every way and I'm thinking that B!Ike/V!Ike are more likely to show up as bonus units in future events than Ike.

What do you think? I'm thinking about other units that would like Heavy Blade or Aether. Any reason not to say goodbye? Incidentally, his IVs are -ATK +SPD so he's always been a bit of a strange case.

He might receive a boost to his prf weapon? Unfortunately, the new Ikes are just outright better than him.

I would probably just leave him in my barracks if I had him. I was able to pull V! Ike but he’s probably gonna be stuck in my barracks too as I have way too many built red swords.

PS. If you have a unit that would benefit greatly from his skill and you don’t like Ike in general then I would fodder him off.

Uh, I foddered my one Ike for Aether a long time ago...so...?

He might still be useful in Arena Assault, and if you've invested a lot in him, he might not just be HB/Aether fodder. So, I would say wait until you really need Aether fodder, and make the decision then.

Hey there!
Since I'm FTP, I've never foddered off any of my 5*s. However, Vanguard Ike is pretty much better than Ike in almost every way. There are 2 reasons I can think of to keep him.
1. Hero Merit. The amount will probably continually get increased as people max them out. If this is your only Ike, you might want him to farm some HM.
2. Arena Assault. This is only a problem if you don't have enough good red 5*. If you do, then foddering him could be a good idea. However, having extra units in case you need them can be useful.
Heavy Blade is a seal now, so the skill is only useful if you have 2 units that need it. Aether is a great skill that boosts arena scores.
Really just depends if you need the feathers from HM and the extra red for AA. If not, fodder him. +Spd is good, but -Atk cripples him.

I think regular Ike has a niche. His stats are skewed differently so he can run skills like Infantry pulse whereas VL!Ike can't cuz his HP is too low, even with a boon. Unless you have a unit that really wants heavy blade (and can't use it via the seal) I'd keep him. I got a feeling Ragnell will get an upgrade in a few months, and Aether is easier to get on Chrom since he's available at 4*s.
