An another Owain Question, Sorry!

I've got Owain 9 times, my main Owain is +atk/-hp. I'm planing to merge him. So my question: should i give distant counter to him?

On the first two suggested builds, DC is put on the A slot

In my opinion he isn't the greatest user of DC, his neutral res is 22 making his magical bulk only 63, this means that after he takes a hit from a mage he won't be able to tank another one, his atk isn't high enought to use Vantage and he won't have the special ready all the time, meaning that if you give him DC he will have a dead A slot after the first fight
