Am I the only player whom loves Mist?

I had a look on he hero description for Mist (Staff Wielder), and she’s described as borderline useless!

I have been running her, with (S) Hero Support with my Nowi and she is ultra effective.

Am I alone on this one? Her stat line sits at:
HP - 44
Atk - 45
Spd - 26
Def - 22
Res - 36
With defiant Atk 3 in A-Slot & Slow+ (Eff)
Thoughts?

I have never once heard someone say they like Mist. Everyone mostly regards her as pity breaker trash. Don't have one myself so I couldn't tell you on my own opinion.

I despise her. Her very existence as a 5* triggers me harder than people complaining about a character getting a 5th alt.

Wow. I’m definitely alone on this one.

Why though? I have only been playing for a few months and she is sitting on:
SP - 5330
HM - 4276
I have also taught her more skills than any other hero by a long way.

Because she has absolutely no reason to be a 5* exclusive.

Intelligent Systems demoted units, and Mist was nowhere on the Demotion list...... wtf?

I usually hate when people say "am I the only one?" because they are almost always relating to something that everyone does, but I think that this is the single one time, when the tagline is accurate, so you deserve an applause.

Mist gets a lot of hate but I'm sure she's really good once you invest enough.

If you'd like some advice, I'll offer some:

1. What (Eff) are you running on Slow+? The red one is referred to as Wrathful and the blue one is referred to as Dazzling. With a 45 atk and 22 def, she could run either pretty well. Dazzling would let her slow down units like Ryoma, Legendary Robin, etc., but it would make it much harder for defiant atk 3 to trigger.

2. How do you like Defiant Atk 3? I haven't seen a build like that since nearly the beginning of the game. Defiant skills were never popular but maybe you've put it to good use on a healer.

I have run mostly the following set, always paired with Nowi as she has Fury 3 attached and when battling through Chain Challenges they complimented each other.

1. The Effect I run is ‘Calculates Damage like other weapons’ so Wrathful I think. She gets a +2 Atk/Def/Spd/Res when adjacent to Nowi. So seems to hit hard and is a great finisher.

2. Defiant Atk 3 is most effective for me in Chain Challenges, I run that with Escape Route, n S Slot Live to Serve 1 .

For Arena matches etc I run an Axebreaker 3 to offset Nowi’s biggest weakness with HP+4/Atk+2 in A Slot.

I now find I definitely am alone on this Misty island. I love it though haha

I like Mist, but shes 5 star locked so i'll never build her. Its the problem with a lot of units I like, i'll never build them because i'm never gonna whale for them.

Yes, I refuse to spend real $$ on the game. At the start I got a few iTunes gift cards I used and Mist is still the only 5 Star Healer I’ve summoned (I’ve since Promoted Priscilla n Nanna).

I think my issue is until I was introduced to this game in jan/feb I had been playing the 2003 Fire Emblem GBA game where training a cleric gave you a powerful Bishop, my infatuation probably began there

Priscilla MVP. I want them to release a red tome Priscilla alt. Wouldn't say no to a blue tome Lucius either.

I've never pulled a Mist, still waiting. But I've upgraded lots of healers with the same skills (Serra, Wrys, Lucius) and I can say that I like all her default skills a lot.

Mist was one of mine first healers, and back then I really thought she was a really good healer, and I think that's mainly thanks to her healing skill. A lot of people don't like her because she really doesn't have the stat line and the skills of a 5 star only unit. She has also pity broken a lot of people, so that doesn't really make her a fan favorite ^^;
But I think if you like using her with the Dazzling Slow staff, then I'd maybe recommend something like Attack 3 in her A slot, Wings of Mercy in her B slot and then C slot and Seal could be some sort of drive skills or tactic skills, depends on what kind of a team you run.

Mist is fine. She's not got the best stat spread but if you want to use her she'll do the job well enough.
It's just kind of silly that she's 5* exclusive when there are better healers in the 3-4* pool and she doesn't come with any good skills either.

Maybe someone at IS loves mist and doesn’t want to see her demoted XP I have one of her myself and personally I just don’t use her. Not cos she is bad but purely because I have “better” healers for the job. Plus not ideal IVs so ya.

OK, so here's a few insights from someone who's been playing since last year...

1. Don't take this site's healer ratings too seriously. I've never pulled Mist, but I do have and use Sakura, who's similarly rated on this site... and for the record, I like my Sakura a LOT. Her balanced stats are perfect for modes like Tempest Trials.

2. Don't be discouraged by everyone whining about Mist's pitybreaker status. That's not a valid argument for not using her. >_> (It IS a reason why people don't like her, though.)

3. An ACTUAL reason why Mist is considered "bad" is her low spd. Usually, a slow unit is only considered good when they have a high mixed defense spread (i.e. 30 def 30 res), and/or an insanely high atk stat. Mist possesses neither.

4. That said, IMO healer usefulness varies greatly from person to person. Probably due to playstyle. If Mist works for you, keep using Mist.

5. IDK if you're looking for build advice, but 36 Res is perfect for running some Ploy skills (besides Panic Ploy of course). ;)

Noob question - pitybreaker means??

A pitybreaker is when you get a 5* unit that you don't want, which resets your 'pity' rate. (The pity rate is the % chance to get a 5 star that goes up by .25% every 5 pulls.)

Nope! I love mist I have one with +atk -hp ivs, I gave her a build refined her staff and maxed out HM.

I don't mind Mist, really. I don't care how bad people say she is; I'll gladly give her a chance before making my judgement.

That is, if she comes. I have never summoned her once, not even off-focus.
