Alternative dragon

Would this work? I do want a second dragon for Dragon Emblem, even if they are the same color. I already have an SB Nowi. Corrin is basically just Nowi with more investment, less attack, more speed, and more defense. She will prevent doubles more with this, so she seems bulkier to me, but I'm not sure.

If I am understanding this correctly, she functions as an enemy phase unit, tanking damages and then retaliate to kill. Since you already put the quick repose seal on her, she only need enough speed to not get doubled, and 40 is a bit too much. Also, green units are generally not very fast. Highest speed no merge and no seal is +spd Spring Sharena (39). If I want to use a unit for roles other than support, that unit must have 40+ ATK. I would recommend to ditch the +spd breath and try getting a +atk breath to further her gain. If you are running her in a dragon emblem, then you can also take away a bit def, since she will receive the +6 def & res from fortify dragon anyway.

avoiding doubles is nice and all but it might be better if you use a res boon and a res refinement because hyperoffensive dragon emblem isn't really a big thing unless you have myrrh and even then, your options are corrin and ninian who both have piss poor attack stats

Well, Yes. Corrin needs more investment than Nowi does, but give Corrin Nowi's kit and she mops up more characters in her player phase (assuming she didn't kill them during the enemy phase) after being attacked than Nowi ever does. Unlike the tiny Loli, She does not fear Falchions nearly as much. (A +10 Nowi gets destroyed by +0 Lucina for example while a +0 Corrin with the same build that Nowi/Tiki has can handle Her and even kill her instead without having to resort to Swordbreaker to do it) yes, she has less attack to do heftier damage, however her Bulkyness more than makes up for it to be the last one standing in the long run.

Long story short: does she need more investment? Yes. But she's much better in the long run than Nowi could really dream to be.

It's like how Reinhardt gets credit for being one of if not the most dangerous Blue Tome unit, but Linde/Delthea at +0 can do a much better job at nuking than a +10 Rein can even dream of doing.
