Aether Raids should've been... bigger

Now that we've been through the first season I can't help but feel IS missed a golden opportunity to use it's bigger maps. When you consider all of the obstacles that can be added in it begs the question why didn't they take this chance to use their bigger maps. At higher AR tiers team size is going to be increased up to six so a bigger map just makes too much sense. A larger map also allows for a lot more terrain variation as well. Just looking at this mode long term kind of makes me think they wasted some major potential here.

Hmm I beg to differ. The problem would be that if the map is too large, tactics, to me, simply go down a sewer drainage. But that's me.

The smaller, more confined maps, kinda force you to think quick and efficiently, at least that's my PoV on it.

True they would have had to make some minor balance changes but those wouldn't have been a big deal. As for tactics going down the drain, no way. Now instead of a 3-4 turn win it becomes almost like a mini-campaign to get your victory. You know kind of like a REAL FE map.

I have to agree it does seem way too cramped. This feels like the most extreme version of either picking a stall tank or a oneshot nuke

Sad but true. Regardless of which units a person chooses to go with defense team comps are more or less limited to these two strategies like this.
