Advice on my Chrom

I am really proud of him as he my first +10 project and I wanted to make him a mixed tank so I tried utilising his super boon in speed

I was wondering if there is any improvements I can do to make him even better and stronger?

(Note: I am planning on giving him odd attack wave I just need fodder lol)

Giving him odd attack wave seems like a bit of a waste.
And personally I think that using QR with more def skills seems to be a bit better for him

Speed boon is fine, to avoid doubles, but he takes a hit in both defence and special charging because of it.

Now this build is pretty potent, it's just not what I'd do.
I'm building my +spd Chrom with steady breath, quick riptose and close def in the seal slot. It allows him to take a hit and heal himself when he needs to.

It's a more conventional way to play Chrom and maybe a bit less ambitious, just accepting that his spd is on the lower side. The play style is different. The build we see pictured, if we add heavy/flashing blade, has the potential to activate aether a lot more for a lot fewer hits taken, which favours a much more active, forward play style. It's harder to pull off on player phase because of the bond skills, but it's more flexible than breath skill + QR builds, which can be a lot more painful against Ayra and bold fighters if you're using close def. I mean, they both win - he would have so much def that he barely gets scratched without the special, and he has enough HP to tank the special straight up, but with this build it's just position well and attack into them. Even Ayra will probably get doubled and busted due to chill spd.

You might be right.
It's just that bond skills are mostly enemy phase skills, and it can be pretty hard to use.

In my personal opinion, Lucina/masked marth would use it better than Chrom

But it is by no means a bad build, it does allow for avoiding doubles a lot better than a regulair defence chrom build (even with +spd)
Not what I'd do, but very creative. Which means it's a good build

I agree that bond skills can be tricky to use but my play style is usually all the units kinda cramped up together so I thought it might be a good skill to put on him because of that

I also agree that Lucina/Mask Marth would use this build better but Chrom is my favourite character and the reason I got into Fire Emblem so I wanted to focus on him
Thank you tho for thinking it's creative! I did think about going to whole the whole SB + QR build but I thought it might be too boring and wanted to do something more unique yet still really good

I can always respect using favorite characters over 'better' ones.

This build does do a fine job of going all the way with it's idea. I'm a fan of synergies beween weapons and A skills like this.

I still stand by one thing though, infantry pulse is probably better that atk wave, save that skill for someone else.
Wave skills are best for units that tent to be away from allies a bit too much, plus infantry pulse can allow allies to be stronger and help Chrom when needed

Very fair point on the attack wave! my only issue with infantry pulse is that I only have 1 infantry on my core team unless the bonus unit is one so I was unsure if to keep it or not

His teammates are Nowi, B!Ephraim + bonus unit (Currently L!Marth) so I am not sure what C slot to give him

You can always try and make an infantry team around him and infantry pulse.

other options would be Panic Ploy or atk smoke.
atk wave isn't bad, but it's just such a premium skill that you migth want to do the smart thing and give it to someone who needs it more (mages or cavaliers in mixed teams for example)

Wow this is beautiful, so glad you did this. 47 spd unbuffed with a chill on top of it. I always liked the spd boon on Chrom, but I never imagined people would take it this far.

I tend to want heavy blade on him to get the aether sooner. It's perfect for your build because he has the spd to work on both phases. If your team has drive spd you could give it to him as a seal. Now that I think about it, flashing blade is probably even better because high-atk armours won't be able to block it. It's also possible to have a teammate give it to him via infantry rush/flash.

It would be absolutely amazing with special spiral. 3CD, hit for 2 charges, take a hit, aether every time he's against a melee opponent without guard or 63+ atk.

The other thing, maybe too late now, is that it might have been nicer to put the chill on a teammate (some firesweeper, for instance) and he can use renewal + reciprocal aid. It's especially effective because he has enough spd not to need QR. (Also, Karla, who's probably the main opponent he might not double despite chill spd, just might fall in one hit depending on buffs and builds and IVs)

Those are just ideas. You have a beautiful unit there.

Thank you for liking this build!! I always tend to go far with a units build when they are a fave

I was thinking of maybe swapping out the seal for heavy blade/flashing blade but wasn't sure if to let go of that extra +3 speed
I do have Nowi tho on my main team with him with drive speed so maybe I will swap it out!

Honestly I was thinking of swapping out chill speed as it only benefits him and not his team mates because my current arena core team is Chrom, Nowi, B!Ephraim + a bonus unit so they don't really need chill speed nor do I have a unit to give chill speed other than him

Special spiral is an amazing idea and I didn't think of it on him!! Thank you for that idea! Now all I need is an extra Lewyn somehow lol
