Actually useful units for friends during GC?
Changes to VG took the pressure off to not send friends something useless but Rival Domains and now GC have brought it all rushing back. I know it's better to send out less common units since everyone already either has or knows someone with a super stacked Hector/Brave Lyn/Axura/whatever, but beyond that I have no clue.
My current unit is just my most invested, 5*+7 Hana (+Atk-HP, FS+/Repo/Moonbow/LnD/Drag Back/Atk Smoke/HB), and I'm being told my 49 friends have used her 400 times since the tracking started, so I'm hoping she's useful to somebody, but since I don't use her myself in GC I'm wondering if there aren't better options.
I figure her use is mainly in Drag Back (dragging units off the bases and/or KOing the sitting unit and clearing off, so there's access to attack the bases) and not really anything else to do with her. She'd be more useful with Def Smoke than Atk Smoke and that's my eventual goal for her but I ultimately couldn't bear to give up a +Atk Bunfonse so that's not happening for ages. But she's my golden child so I'd love to be confident I can leave her up.
I think the only other thing I can offer would be some invested units from my Flier Emblem for travel utility and... uh, my super invested sustain tank Stahl..?
edit: I mean, that I can think of. Maybe I have some dark horse hiding in my barracks lol. I'm extremely bad at anime war chess and Domains especially so, so I'm truly lost here.

My question was phrased super awkwardly, I'm realizing now; I was asking for advice on what units to send to people, not begging for units to be sent to me.
But I'm not going to complain if people wanna throw their FCs out & I love adding more flier units to the only mode I get to use 9+ fliers at once in. I just sent a request, thank you!

In that case, the most useful units for grand conquest are tanky ones that can take on multiple enemies and stay healthy throughout, a good player phase can be useless if there's 10 enemies instead of 4. Albeit with good positioning player phase units can be used more effectively, defensive heroes are the way to go in that regard.

That's logical, thank you! Part of the reason I never use my own lead is I have to let the AI play most of the time and they're worse with PP units than I am. And EP units. Just the game in general, really.
Myrrh doesn't seem TOO common so I might look into patching up her sustain potential a bit and sending her out sometimes though she might be less desireable minus Guidance.

I found myself asking the same question some time back, and the answer which suited me best was a Savage healer! I am so proud of my Elise who has since helped many friends on my behalf ⁰▿⁰
Just sharing some of my personal preferences (of units belonging to my friends) :
1. Dragons with Aether. Nowi, Tiki and Myrrh are must haves!
2. Jafar with Savage Blow 6.
3. Tanky cavalry units! My current favourites are a very unique Firesweep Sigurd with Galeforce and Drag Back, and a Mathilda with DC and Vantage.
4. Units with Galeforce or Aether - my favourite GC specials.
5. Reposition please. Rally doesn't seem to help much during GC.
6. If sending out an Armour, having Armored Boots on would be nice - they tend to be very difficult to transport around otherwise.
7. My favourite Mage-friend is a Lilina with Draw Back and Wings of Mercy 3. I'm sure your friends would love an insane killer mage with these *Teleports behind an exhausted Elise to drag her to safety / warps beside a wounded friend to zap an enemy (⌐■_■)

Enemy phase units work the best since a lot of people use auto-battle. Now if you have invested in an underused character or a pretty rare unit a lot of people will use it from my experience. My friend had a +10 berkuts lance jagen and his numbers exploded
I usually have my +2 NY!Azura with guidance and WoM, since as far as I can see not a lot of my friends have her and they usually have an unmerged one, so a lot of them use mine as their dancer
WoM, AoE specials and double Savage Blow are great skills in general for GC. Also, if you use a healer as your lead you should use a special that as an effect on all allies (the buffing ones or the healing one)
Infantry Pulse is an amazing skill if you have a unit with that
Debuffers and Ploy units like Arvis and Saias
You prob shouldnt use Rallys as your assist skills since they arent that great and the AI doesnt know how to use them. Even smite can be more usefull than a Rally

I find the most useful units are either 'rare' units, (Ex; Stahl as opposed to Grima, since people don't usually have him, or a good build for him.) healers and debuffers. Healers, with any off the Balms, Pain+++ or the Fear/Slow are awesome, same with daggers. Since Tactics are near useless, debuffs and Drives are super useful.

From my experience, units above merge+5 are useful, i rarely make my brigade with anything not +10, unless the unit had a unique niche to cover.
Add others have said, dragons with aether are fantastic, but if you are sending a player phase make sure it has galeforce, that skill is insane in GC, i have really been enjoying playing with a siegbert with his base kit+galeforce, and a L!Ephraim with DB3, desperation and galeforce, they can really open up a path for the rest of the army.
Besides that, WoM is very powerful, as are fliers with reposition or guidance.
The GC maps most of the time have rivers, mountains or forests, and once your units are killed once, having to recover the lost terrain can be hard, so fliers help with that.
