About GHB units and their limitations

Dont you think GHB units are pretty underrated.
I mean, I know they have an important mergue limitation, but is this true?

For example, with the incorpored daily GHB rotation and quests you can get more versions of these heroes and you have directly more access to mergue them. For example, you could have perfectly a Narcian +5 or even higher.

I mean, I have not got even some 5* heroes yet like Hinoka or Ryoma. How Am I gonna mergue them? Are not they harder to mergue +10 than a GBH unless you sell your house and your car and buy infinite orbs?

The only mergued units I have right know are basically 3* and 4* heroes, like Eirika and Seth, and my max mergued project is Eirika 5* level 40 +5, exactly the same than a GBH hero who you get from daily GHB rotations.

The only problem I see is they have not IVS options. I think TT heroes are worse than GHB units, and are even more limited and their stats are pretty lower. Canas is a great example. Just compare him with Lyon.

For "casual" players, the only problem of GHB heroes is their lack of IV of course, but for the t19-20 arena players, their lack of merges is crippling because they will not score enough for arena. And for the new GHB heroes, they can only be merged to +2 because there is no quest with another 3* copie for new GHB...

Its curious because Im 19-20 tier player and always use my Joshua (yes, Joshua) who is not even mergued and have no problems getting high postions. So is really needed a full mergued unit?

I dont know how but my Joshua with Fury 3 has one of the hights BST of all my units (except my Eirika and Grima).

How many merges your others unit have? I switch between t19 and t20 with a +1 unit but my others arena core unit are at +6 and +4. If the bonus unit is merged it helps a lot (last season with my +8effie in bonus unit, I have scored pretty high)

Actually I use Eirika +5 and Grima level 40 (no mergue). And Joshua (no mergue). Sometimes I use Seth +2 instead Joshua or Legendary Ike, LAHector, etc etc

The last slot depends of bonus heroes, but I have a lot of heroes and always have a bonus hero with high burst.
My Eirika, Seth, Joshua and Grima all have FURY 3. I dont know if that helps to get hight places easily.

Fury don't boost the weight of your unit more than a regular 200SP A slot.
Grima is really good for high scoring because of his high BST, prf weapon and armored skills. Eirika score pretty well with her prf weapon, not a bad BST and +5 merges help a lot.
It's more simple to go to t19-t20 after the update, but it's harder to stay in t20

GHB units are actually good for arena though.
Not for your main team but as bonus units, there's always 1 or 2 there so if you invest in one you'll get to use it a lot. And a merged GHB unit is going to score more and be more useful than one of the Askr trio.

Report

Feather invest, the best ones have low merges. And not only that but their are just simply better units for all GHB units (same with TT to an extent) for example, a legendary Ephraim will always do the job better than camus can in an offensive setting like arena (where merges matter the most)
For in game content you are 100% right, the merges from GHB are far superior assuming you have the feathers. But a huge detriment to their use outside of this is their stat lines are all relatively mediocre, except linus, michais and even Ursula and arvis, but beyond that none of them are notable and a good IV unmerged unit will beat the neutral IVd +3(math, I think at +4 it over takes the unmerged, but after 1 merge it beats a +6neutral iv with similar statlines)
Side note, free fodder too...

I dont see that iv lacking in GHB units as a problem. Iv helps to improove a certain unit for choosed role but it's a double edge sword, If you cant obtain right iv, neutral is better.
In contrast with TT reward units GHB has acsess to merges and a slight better statline, and sometimes even great weapon (Michalis and Zephiel comes to mind) so yeah, they are underrated. However, they require more investment compared to some summonable units.
