4*+10s are a lot more effecient

A guy made a question asking why it's better to have them over 5*+10s. And, well...this is basically it. And as I want to demostrate, it is by no means a shabby accomplishment.

- For one, it's very unlikely you will be building a 5*+10 unless you spend months saving feathers and potentially neglecting other characters and builds (L&D, Blade Tomes, etc.).
- You save up like x10 the amount of feathers, and this is assuming they even need the *4 promotion to begin with.
- This heavily encourages a lot more characters (namely, the first F2P units you get) to not only make themselves a lot more competemt, but also potentially adding to Arena score.

And, yeah...this may very well sound like someone trying to cope for their lack of 5*+10s. But then, I have a lot of trouble justifying these kind of costs just so they can...look prettier and shinier? Again, it's not a rant. I'm just saying, effeciency and convenience is by no means a handwave...

Having a 5*+10 is good for very powerful units that have high BST already. I think 4*+10 others that are common are good and 5*+10 your most used heroes are better. That is my take on this

Chances are, only a really good F2P player would have a core of 3 5*+10s by now...and this is assuming they went through the things I mentioned above, in which they'd be neglecting things here and there (and possibly even promoting the Trio de Dangers).

Jokes aside. I am playing Feh from the beginning and have multiple Teams of 5* Units. I can easily get to Tier 20 in Arena and with a Little effort sty there if I really want. I can clear almost every content. almost means that I rarely go for Infernal GHB unless I need the Units skills.
No I don't want to Show how godlike I am. Just want to underline the missing 5*10 Units im my barracks. only 3-4 unit are 5*1 (NOT 5*10) the rest is non merged

What are you trying to say? Not being offensive, just curious.

Just mentioning that this games completly works without the Need of merging Units to 5*10. especially for F2P. The Units I like are various heroes from higher Tiers and there is no real Chance in getting them merged as a F2P but as I am saying also no real Need to do so.

And how exactly do you plan to stay in tier 20 with an arena team of 3 5*+1 units + bonus unit?
My only merged unit is a +2 Nowi(and she would've been higher, if I would get another goddamn copy of her) I can get to T20 every time, but it's impossible to stay in it with my ~4970 points.
Yes, merges aren't needed for anything except for T20 arena.
For most of the content there are f2p guides that clear them with units a day 1 player has access to.

Infernal GHBs and Infernal Hero Challenges (not all of them, the likes of Arvis, T&N, recent Lyn and Hana) are the only difficult high-end content in FEH, which is hardly trivial unless you have specific cheese units with dancer/pain cleric support. The game's not that much about skill, it's about building a wide enough selection of OP heroes to steamroll everything. I thought if you were T20, you'd damn beat any GHB without problems, T20 sounds tough to achieve.

4*+10 is a great, efficient strategy, agreed. The only units that really need to be 5* merged in my opinion are:

1) Units relying on prf weapons
2) Units for which all or nearly all stats are useful (essentially dragons plus armors)
3) Your long term arena core if you care about staying in tier 20.

I have about 15 units at 4*+10, plus a few more in progress. They are terrific for squad assault, arena assault, grand conquests and Tempest Trials. Big big fan.

I would like to add that if your one of the lucky ones (like me with Cherche) and your absolute Fav hero is available at 3-4* id encourage to go all out and collect the 220000+ feathers.

I really love seeing ppl put work into older/"weaker" characters and building them +10 especially if they are f2p if it is one of their favourits

also dont underestimate the 2-3 stat boost on every stat this might really help, comparing 4*+10 and 5*+10

If you're serious about certain characters, it's going to be more than 220k because of skills you might want to give from other heroes.

While I can neglect some units in favor of +10ing my core team, I have my own goal as to build every existing character and have at least each and every one of heroes to be 5*

5*+10s are very strong and competitive for arena, but are expensive.

4*+10s can still be good for arena, but not as good as a 5*+10 and it doesn't feel as good

Most of the game's beatable without +10 units. In fact, +10 just mean an additional 2-3 skill points to every stat, so it's not that big of a difference. In Arena that may mean +15-20 score (times whale units).

However, having a 5*+10 means you have created the strongest version of that character, so it doesn't get better than that. If you see someone with a 5*+10 you should be happy for them. They made their dream units and we all can too if we put in the effort. I'll be satisfied when I get my Nowi 5*+10 so I can auto map the tempest trials without her dying at the end.

Yes, it's super expensive. The downside you don't mention is losing the opportunity to build further. e.g. I have a 4*+10 Nowi and I can't invest into her further until I get another 10 copies basically. It would be nice if we could upgrade 4*+10 -> 5*+10 for 220,000 feathers.

That would be awesome! I would do a lot of 4*+10 if there was this option.
