4 Star Masked Lucina with Falchion?

I wanted to ask this since the new weapon refinery is coming soon.
Not specifically for Lucina, but for Caeda. I already have a +4 4 star
one, and would love to give her her new sword. My question then is,
is that even possible? As far as I understand, the new sword is for the 5 star version, which I could get with feathers, and then merge. My question then is, would then the +5 4 star get the sword? I'm asking with Lucina as she has Falchion (Legendary unique weapon) at 5 star, and also has a 4 star variant. Chrom / Marth would also work I guess, but she's more easily available, so I'm wondering if anyone already tried that. I tried inheriting it, but it said that it could only be equipped by the original unit, so that's a no go. But maybe it works when you merge them? I already invested in her, so I would rather not try that, hence me asking. Thanks in advance.

If you merge a 5* unit into a 4* unit, the 4* unit will inherit everything the 5* unit had, weapon included.

You might have to clarify what you're meaning with the Falchion question. I could be reading it wrong, but I'm not entirely understanding the question.

The thing is, Falchion is a legendary weapon, not just a 5 star weapon (Brave Sword+ for example). And now it says that it can only be equipped by it's original user, which complicates things. So I was just wondering if someone had tried that already, and could confirm that you can get a legendary weapon on a 4 star unit.

Merging a 5* into a 4* gives the 5* unit’s skills to the 4*. So yes, you could potentially have a 4* Caeda with Wing Sword.

The "potentially" is the thing I'm asking about, since it's a legendary weapon and not a common 5 star weapon.

I do the same(or similar) with Eliwood, without issues
5* Bad IVs merge with a
4* Good IVs for a 4*+1 Eliwood with Durandal.
after some SP grind(in my case merge more copies), I updated Durandal in the 4* Eliwood, at the end 4*+10 Eliwood Uses Blazing Durandal

just dont upgrade the weapon in the 5*, someone write something similar here, if you do that the wind sword will be locked to the 5* and it cant be inherit.
