3.0 stallers' club: orb hoarders

How many orbs you at and do you know what you're saving for or is it just having resources ready for whatever comes?

I made a really stingy decision. I'm going to pass on the VG banner. I'm ok with an extra copy of Laegjarn, except kind of not really because distant guard isn't high enough on my priority list (see https://fireemblem.gamepress.gg/q-a/what-are-you-guys-saving - Ophelia, fortress def/res, special spiral, etc. are all more important; also, Fire & Ice is too good of an offer right now so spd tactic + chill spd + steady stance 4 + good units...ja). Even a good price can't convince me this time.

Here's waiting for Feh channel and really wanting the banner to be worth pulling. But first I need to see what's coming.

I have about 190 Orbs to my name. I'm saving for the next time Owain becomes a focus unit, or if Cormag/Ross gets introduced.

The last day of Owain's banner I spent 90 orbs on red, only to be pitybroken by B.Roy.
I shared this story to my gaming buddy from highschool and he convinced my to continue pulling. I was getting kinda low on orbs but said, fuck it, let's try- but I'll quit at the next pitybreaker.
I clicked on a red stone and... There he was! Owain came to me immediately after by pity rate was reset by B Roy.

Got 647 orbs right now.

I hoped the 3.0 FEH channel would be earlier - if I didn't mess my math due to lack of sleep, it's at midnight here in Europe, 16h after the end of the VG banner and 8h before the end of fire and ice banner, so it doesn't leave me with a lot of time to stop and think what to do with my orbs.

I've got one Laegjarn from her debut banner and one Helbindi from the VG banner. I've been thinking about starting merging my Caeda and giving her the duel skill and I've got enough to +9 my +SPD -HP Soren for cheerleading in arena.
However, Laegjarn has a nice niche, being a high Def red flier, something my Caeda and (+Def) L.Ryoma definitely aren't. Helbindi and his Odd Omniwave weapon have proven themselves extremely useful.
So I've been considering getting an extra copy of those 2, so I can fodder one and keep the other.

And then there is the Fire and Ice banner. No matter what's coming in 3.0, I want one Ylgr so I can have all the Nifl family together.
But there's also Surtr. I'm not a fan of him, but getting a +10 180 BST unit is very tempting.

If the channel doesn't hint at a arena / BST changes, then I'd spend 400-500 orbs sniping green and hoping one copy of Ylgr comes along when there are no green stones.
If 3.0 changes how ranking works, then I'll just get Ylgr.

The problem is I've got to decide whether I'm pulling for duel skills before the FEH channel drops.
And spending orbs there means I reduce my chances to get high Surtr merges.

No matter what time zone you're in, Feh channel starts 6h before Fire and Ice expires, and several of those hours the server is down for maintenance so that's the time to sit and figure out what to do.

I have to admit, Surtr is so broken he's really tempting. And maybe in a few updates he won't be so broken...or those who invested in him might even regret because he's no longer top-tier? Hard to imagine, but powercreep is fairly stiff in this game. At the moment he's too disgusting for me to really accept merging. I'll take a copy or several for steady stance 4 (which is also pretty disgusting) but I don't want to play like that, so stupid and broken he is

Those 6 hours are exactly in the timeframe I would normally sleep, and the remaining 2h is where I wake up and rush to uni.
I could summon in the train, but I perfer doing it at home...
And it doesn't give me ample opportunities to watch people's analyses of the changes on youtube like i like to do. Nor it gives time to youtubers to create that content in time...

I did broke a few days back on the Surtr banner, and I'm happy I did since I was able to get F!Kana and Surtr within 20 orbs. Now my Xander has his best A skill.

264, i'm waiting for something good to appear, i wasted around 60 when pulled ward banner but no success there, not a single 5* at 4%.

Too many. Not completely sure for which unit. I realized I wasn't using the units I was pulling so I just kinda stopped.

Maybe if IS would put out some scary infantry units I would pull but they have been fairly lackluster. I mean look at the difference between ylgr and surtr.

The dream Corrins were pretty ridiculous weren't they? Or the price wasn't right for you?

Yea they were solid. I meant non dragon units. Dragons have been getting love since the refinery update. Though they are all pretty bland. I want some interesting units with good skills and art/sprites.

Just bugs me looking at the typical one sentence boring weapon description for infantry then a typical armor will have a paragraph with "-1 cool down per attack, attack regardless of distance, QR, wrath, enemy can't follow up, etc" an exaggeration, but not by much.

I've 360 at the moment. Haven't spent much since the start of the Halloween banner though I'm not saving for anything in particular, just trying to be move sensible with my summons.

Saving up for the next time Adrift F.Corrin comes out again, and hopefully the Radiant Dawn banner (I believe that's the one we are getting in Jan) doesn't have anyone that I truly want so I can save

I've been thinking of merging that Corrin myself. Fae is a bit lacking in def, and the boosted BST is really helpful in a balanced statline

I should’ve had 300 but I spent 110 orbs for 4 5 stars on fire and ice

4 5 stars for 110 orbs is 22,5 per 5 stars - great deal!

At 220. I was at over 500 before and wanted Surtr+merges, but after spending 120 orbs just to be pity broken by Luke, I realized it wasn't going to happen.

I also wanted Red Duel Flying while it's so easy to pick up, because of Aversa. Got Pity broken by Brave Roy after 120 orbs. Thank God I continued and got my fodder 5 summons later.

Then spent 100+ orbs on the legendary hero banner trying for B!HEctor merges and a single copy of Lucina. Got two Cordelia instead.

Good thing I yolo summoned another 30 orbs out of frustration and netted two B!Hector, one of which was +atk-spd (already had that, but it's an insane IV). B!Hector at +3 now!
