Really funny how people freak out.

Flora will almost certainly have good res, which means low def (unless her atk/spd is really poor)
And it only works against DC units, not archers or daggers.

Remember that Brave Lyn has a skill that prevent counters
No attack>+20 def
And that skill isn't seen as game breaking.

Report

But unlike B!Lyn she has:
-Guaranteed follow-up (against melee only but still. Flora can one round a DC Ayra, but Lyn can’t, since she won’t always double.)
-the normal dagger effect, the dual smoke
-Special Cooldown -1 (like a slaying effect)
-If she takes 0 damage from a foe, that’s better than Sacae’s blessing, since that’s an extra special charge
-Can run a b-slot skill that helps her against foes who can retaliate (Lyn has to run Sacae’s blessing or Firesweep)
-Flashy attack animations

Honestly, it's really not that bad. If it was +20 def on player and enemy phase, then that'd be one thing, but just on initiation makes her easier to take care of. Bold Fighter armored units would probably murder her. Hell, even Vengeful Fighter units could probably take care of her depending on her defense and attack stat, and if we're talking about non-armored units, then it shouldn't be too hard to bait her and then kill her. She'd most likely have low base defense, so just have someone run up and smack her silly.

It's a lot to take in at first, but it's really not that bad.

Report

One thing to remember is her guarantee followup and -1 special
I think the main use of her dagger is this:
Iceberg 3>2 CD from the weapon
If she attacks someone that counters she'll proc the special and kill a lot of units.

Biggest factors to hinder it: Guard/special fighter and 1 hit KO counters.

Report

True, but even then if you run into someone that has her, then it'd be extremely easy to bait her unless the enemy team has a dancer, and even then you can still bait her into overextending.

Armored units like Sheena will most likely take whatever she has and shrug it off like it's nothing, and non-armored units like Lukas, Hawkeye, Selena, Donnel, Henry, or any other physical walls will most likely survive whatever she has in store. And thanks to the addition of Special Spiral, Guard should be considered a lot more to prevent Special spamming.

Report

Guard is really a skill that doesn't get the love it needs
'but I want more attacks with QR!'
Can't attack if you're dead.

I am assuming her stat spread, but Flora is one of those units that'll be way stronger in player hands than in AI hands.

Report

If the effect was on a melee type weapon or worked in the enemy phase it would have been quite strong, but the problem is that it's on a dagger.
Dagger user will have lower BST for being ranged, meaning less points in def, they hit def and the most prevalent are armors which have high def and will most likely murder her in both enemy and player phase since they have access to the fighter skills (Bold, Vengefull and Special) and Breath skills.
Now let's look at the meta units:
- Zelgius, well not much, he will outright oneshot you with a Black Luna, same for BK
- L!Hector, you may deal a decent amount of dmg, but not being able to double him will cause you to not kill him, and he will kill you in the player phase
- LA!Hector, well have fun against 20 true dmg when special procs
- Ayra, will deal 26 true dmg when she triggers special
- Myrrh and Grima tank you easily and kill you back in the player phase
- B!Ephraim will murder you with a special while tanking with his high def

That's ignoring blue units, there are too many problems with the effect being on a dagger

My thoughts are the next:

Since Felicia (her sister counterpart) is an ANTI-MAGES dagger, Flora should be an ANTI-PHYSICAL weapons dagger.
Thats how I understood it.

Report

It seems to me IS is trying to provide a counter to many of the top units in the meta right now. If you look at the tier list, there are a lot of green armor/dragon units with distant counter.

So, we get a red dagger, who has a weapon designed to attack and survive the counter (i'm looking at you Hectors). I'm also guessing she'll have decent RES to counter mages/dragons like most other daggers.

I have no problem with her.

When i read that i was imagining the devs at IS and it was like "guys, im tired of these asshole players complaining about daggers. Lets give it to them this time. Like, for real.
Sure, how about +20 defense, extra attack and special charge?
Cool, lets see those nerds not playing with daggers now."
