2 short questions

I started playing last week and after ~140 orbs I finally got a Delthea, sadly with -atk/+res. Is she useless with that nature or does Life and Death salvage her enough?
For the second question, as I'm close to getting 20k feathers, would it be better to promote Sharena or a +atk/-res Eirika (wish her IV were swapped with Delthea's) to 5 star?

Go with Eirika man. She is a buffing machine. She makes other units viable af :)

Hi Ficfil, welcome to you. May I bring light in those thin shadows of yours.

First, Delthea is a very good hero, most effective as a magical nuke & buffer support. Her min-maxed stats, focused on Atk, Spd and Res makes her a very reliable units inspite of her low Hp.

To be honest, IVs only represent a minor difference in the character and since most players don't have optimized IVs on their heros (especially on the 5* rarity ones), it doesn't matter much.

That being said, I am a perfectionnist, FE sagas made me a optimisation maniac in terms of tactics at least.
Delthea having a very specific stat-line, not having the good IVs harms her effectiveness by a lot. Having a -atk/+res reduce her ability to OS her foes and not having a +spd nature makes her unable to tank the blue mage meta (at least the optimized bit of it).

But Delthea being a very good unit herself, I would recommend you to ignore that fact and still invest heavily on her. It will help you to progress a lot faster and get better stuff more quickly.

If you can afford Life&Death, then go for it, with Ardent sacrifice to make her reach Desperation's range, she should be able to take out a lot of the hero rooster.

Finally, concerning your 20k feathers, promoting Sharena would help you to score higher in the incoming arena session and so earn higher reward threesholds. On the other hand, your Eirika's IV are actually perfect (enjoying 4 extra Atk points without endangering her survivability), so you should promote her sooner or later anyways.

Eirika and Delthea are actually the best support units available in the game right now and the cool thing about it, is that they synergyze extremely well.

So I woud advise to promote Eirika, gear her with :
A:Fury, B:Swordbreaker, C:HoneSpd
(Sp:Moonbow, Sup: reposition)
She will do wonders with your Delthea (Life&Death, Desperation, DriveAtk, Ardent Sacrifice).

Sadly, I don't have desperation fodder but everything else that you've recommended I can already do :)

All great info - I would add that Eirika's buffs (+3 Atk/+4 Spd) will patch up Delthea's reduced attack and put her in a great speed tier to really hurt the opposition, especially if the OP goes with Life & Death.

That's the beauty of buffing characters, they can really cover the shortcomings of your other units. The OP has two of the best in the entire game!

This thread makes me regret throwing so many fruitless orbs at trying to get Sonya - the Eirika/Delthea pairing actually sounds pretty amazing.

I would say that specifically for eirika's case, rally def may be a better assist, so she can go for quadbuffs.
Though this is a lot less relevant if you dont put blarblade on delthea.
