The thing about Reinhardt is that he's not too flexible, which is a pretty big problem. The only other set you'll probably ever see a Reinhardt run is an Owltome set to make use of his defense. Owltome Reinhardt I'll accept. This one I loathe.
People are so used to cancer Emblem being a "threat" that they hardly even try.

Pretty much. This mode is competitive as any other mode. Playing it like a dick to assure your Lift is what matters most of the time. As such, people will do what is neccesary to minimize their loses.
It's not a lack of creativity, it's tactical, it's smart. They're playing to what they know works, like any tactician would.

Is it really, though? Everyone and their grandmother know to carry at least one unit that can handle Reinhardt, and another unit that can handle Brave Lyn. Veronica is not a hard unit to take care of either. My Odin can tank her easily and she's dead on the next turn. Even with a dancer, on these maps with a crap ton of stuff happening (debuffs, damage, gravity, Panic, obstacles) if your team is not equipped for the map, then you're shooting yourself in the foot.
My Odin sniped Reinhardt, and their dancer was the very first unit to move, thus making the whole point of carrying the dancer moot, not to mention they had to travel all the way around their own obstacles just to get to me.
Even if the dancer danced one of their units, they'd be overextending.
Cancer Emblem is just not good anymore. I've gotten quite a few defense wins (many people have) without using this outdated tactic. It's just lazy.

Well, Krazy I would agree with you. But the amount of pure unbriddled salt that flows at times proves that not everyone likes to plan for them.
You're really undervaluing and underselling the amount of shit these units can do (and the amount of people they catch off guard/kill) simply because you can do it as well.
Don't get me wrong I'm an advocate for always having a backup unit for these cases, but even then it's kinda hard to just say those things without looking at how the majority of the playerbase is still annoyed by their presence because they are just as annoying as before.
