Key stats worth increasing through nature if possible.
Complementary stats that matter, but not to the point of picking them over key stats for nature increase.
Relatively worthless stat that can safely be decreased through nature.
HPATKSPDDEFRES

Assets

  • +ATK: Attack is Lyn’s most important stat, without question. Her respectable base Speed and the bonus passive Speed from Dee p-Blue Bow provide plenty of support, whereas she sits at a middling 33 base Attack before skills. An Attack Asset will greatly improve Lyn’s damage output.
  • +SPD: While not nearly as good as +Atk, a Speed Asset can be a helpful boost to Lyn’s combat ability. +Spd allows Lyn to achieve follow-up attacks against fast opponents more easily, and protects her from enemy follow-ups.

Neutral

  • HP: HP is best preserved on Lyn, and can be a passable Asset if need be thanks to her 4-point Asset. Nevertheless, Lyn’s susceptibility to adaptive damage demands she maintain a solid HP stat.
  • RES: Lyn’s Resistance is useful in protecting her for magical attacks, from mages who can retaliate at 2 range or dragon heroes who may engage her in melee. A 4-point Flaw makes this inadvisable as a Flaw, so Resistance should be left neutral when available.

Flaws

  • -DEF: With only 20 base neutral Defense, Lyn’s defensive prowess leaves much to be desired. While Lyn would greatly value the ability to nullify her Flaw with a merge, Defense makes for a suitable Flaw as her Defense is among her least useful stats, and Sturdy Impact in Lyn’s base kit can improve these matchups if necessary.

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +ATK / -DEF or -HP

  • +ATK is highly recommended to give Summer Lyn’s damage output a much needed boost. Alternatively, -DEF should be taken to preserve Lyn’s bulk against common ranged heroes like mages, though -HP is a passable alternative.

Weapon: Deep-Blue Bow

  • Deep-Blue Bow is a decent enough weapon if you can meet the necessary requirements. Against foes with full HP, Lyn’s combat stats will stand at 54/45//21/31 in Atk/Spd/Def/Res, assuming she takes the recommended +Atk/-Def stat spread. Considering this is before accounting for other skill effects, Lyn can do impressive damage during Player Phase, especially to armored or flying heroes to whom she deals effective damage.

Assist: Reposition / Flexible

  • Reposition suits Lyn nicely as she can transport her allies over impassable terrain, or reposition an allied dancer to safety after making an attack with her base action. Reposition is also present in her base kit, making it incredibly accessible, though alternative skills can be taken depending on team composition.

Special: Moonbow / Luna

  • Lyn’s Specials are quite straight-forward: Moonbow offers a nice bonus to damage on a short cooldown. This makes it a cheap, powerful option that suits her offensive playstyle well.
  • Luna is also a viable option, offering more damage for a slightly longer cooldown. This is preferable if Lyn is alongside allies who can charge her Special skill more quickly, otherwise Moonbow is the stronger of the two as it can be activated within a single engagement.

Passive A: Swift Sparrow / Sturdy Impact

  • Swift Sparrow offers the best offensive bonuses with a complementary activation requirement: offering bonuses to Attack and Speed upon initiation works perfectly alongside Deep-Blue Bow. Swift Sparrow 3 is preferable, otherwise Sturdy Impact may be more appealing.
  • Sturdy Impact offers a great boost to Attack and Defense when initiating combat and safeguards Lyn from enemy follow-up attacks. This can be crucial against armored heroes who can survive one of Lyn’s attacks and potentially KO her in retaliation. Though she may lack in Speed without Swift Sparrow, this can be remedied through buffs or Lyn’s S slot.

Passive B: Desperation / Chill Def / Mystic Boost / Chill Spd / Atk/Spd Link

  • Desperation is the standard choice for offensive heroes with high Speed. This skill ensures that Lyn can defeat enemy heroes without fear of retaliation, vastly improving the range of favorable match-ups.
  • Chill Def can improve Lyn’s damage output against her target hero, making it the strongest choice . Though the skill is relatviely inflexible, Chill Def offers a solid debuff that can benefit Lyn’s teammates as well as herself.
  • Mystic Boost greatly improves Lyn’s combat ability against dragons and offers a small heal after combat. This skill offers greater mileage out of a -DEF Flaw, but Chill Def remains the superior offensive option.
  • Chill Spd is also worthy of consideration, but as Lyn will rarely struggle make follow-up attacks it may prove to be unnecessary. Nevertheless, this skill can support other members of Lyn’s team if she finds no value from it herself.

Passive C: Odd Attack Wave / Even Attack Wave / Distant Guard / Flexible

  • Odd Attack Wave or Even Attack Wave provide a solid +6 bonus to Lyn’s Attack stat, granting much greater damage output. Though this skill is unnecessary if Lyn’s teammates can offer similar support, Attack Wave skills improve her self-sufficiency and patch up her Attack nicely.
  • Alternatively, Distant Guard is an impressive defense-oriented C slot skill that can protect Lyn’s teammtes. As this skill is available in her base kit, it’s a solid pick up compared to more accessible options.

Sacred Seal: Darting Blow / Attack +3

  • If opting for Sturdy Impact and Lyn need not worry about healing, Darting Blow can be a great pickup to ensure that Lyn can make follow-up Attacks. With Sturdy Impact and Darting Blow, Lyn can expect to receive a stellar +6/+6/+10 to Atk/Spd/Def upon initiation in addition to denying enemy follow-up Attacks.
  • Alternatively, any seals that improve Lyn’s Attack stat are worthy considerations. Atk/Spd Bond provides an impressive +5 boost to both stats, but this can be difficult to take advantage of due to the positioning requirement. Attack +3 provides a hearty passive boost, making it a straight-forward budget choice.

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +ATK / -DEF

  • +ATK is highly recommended to give Summer Lyn’s damage output a much needed boost. Alternatively, -DEF should be taken to preserve Lyn’s bulk against common ranged heroes like mages, though -HP is a passable alternative.

Weapon: Firesweep Bow

  • The Firesweep Bow protects Lyn from all enemy attacks during Player Phase, allowing her to combat enemy units without fear of retaliation. This allows her to take full advantage of her impressive Speed stat and deal impressive damage to enemy heroes.

Passive A: Swift Sparrow / Death Blow

  • With the Firesweep Bow equipped, Lyn has no need for Sturdy Impact or other A slot skills that serve to improve her bulk during Player Phase. All she needs is Attack and Speed, so Swift Sparrow reigns as the best choice.
  • Death Blow is a fair alternative to Swift Sparrow as Lyn needs the extra Attack much more than she needs the Speed. With Darting Blow in her S slot skill, Lyn may actually prefer the bonus damage if she is able to inherit Death Blow 4.

Passive B: Chill Def / Poison Strike / Chill Spd / Flier Formation

  • Chill Def offers a solid boost to Lyn’s damage output. With the Firesweep Bow, Lyn can safely target the chilled opponent as she will avoid any retaliatory attacks, allowing her to damage enemy heroes freely.
  • Poison Strike can deal additional damage to Lyn’s target if she fails to KO them, effectively guaranteeing a kill in the next round of combat. This can be helpful for bringing down powerful heroes who would otherwise shrug off Lyn’s attacks like Surtr and Legendary Hector.
  • Chill Spd is also worthy of consideration, but as Lyn will rarely struggle make follow-up attacks it may prove to be unnecessary. Nevertheless, this skill can support other members of Lyn’s team if she finds no value from it herself.
  • Flier Formation is an honorable mention as it grants Lyn much improve mobility when paired with other fliers. This skill can improve her positioning and allow her to reach enemy heroes more easily to take advantage of the free damage offered by Firesweep Bow.

Passive C: Odd Attack Wave / Even Attack Wave / Savage Blow / Distant Guard / Flexible

  • Savage Blow serves the same purpose as Poison Strike, though deals damage to foes near Lyn’s initial target. This can be very helpful in gamemodes where units tend to group together, such as Aether Raids, but offers no help in defeating Lyn’s primary target.
  • Alternatively, Distant Guard is an impressive defense-oriented C slot skill that can protect Lyn’s teammtes. As this skill is available in her base kit, it’s a solid pick up compared to more accessible options.

Sacred Seal: Darting Blow / Savage Blow / Atk/Spd Bond / Attack +3

  • Darting Blow effectively guarantees that Lyn will make a follow-up attack against her target, pushing her Speed upon initiation to an impressive 44 before additional bonuses through her A slot skill and buffs.
  • Savage Blow can be taken in the S slot in addition to the C slot to provide a fantastic AoE damage effect to several enemy heroes after combat. This is only preferable if Lyn takes Savage Blow in both slots, but can be a great tool to cripple enemy team compositions.
  • Atk/Spd Bond is worth considering if Lyn has also opted for Flier Formation. These skills synergise nicely, and allow Lyn to achieve the necessary positional requirement without discarding her aggressive offense-oriented playstyle.
  • If all else fails, Attack +3 provides a no-nonsense passive buff that helps patch up Lyn’s Attack stat.

Introduction

Lyn: Lady of the Beach makes her debut as a blue bow flier, with a respectable offensive stat-line but a relatively unimpressive PRF weapon. Her offensive stat spread of 33/38 offers a decent balance of Attack and Speed to ensure that Lyn can make speed based follow-up attacks. Her defensive stats are less impressive, due to her poor Defense, but Lyn’s middling Resistance can safeguard her from potential OHKO attacks against enemy mages.

Lyn’s most notable feature is her PRF bow, the Deep-Blue Bow, which grants a fantastic combat boost provided her foe is at 100% HP. This is easy to achieve at the start of combat and will only be lost if Lyn fails to KO her target, excluding other external factors such as Duma’s Upheavel or a Bolt Tower in Aether Raids. In addition, this bow also grants effectiveness to both flying and armored heroes in addition to a nice +3 to Speed.

Overall, Lyn is a very competent ranged flier whose biggest drawback is her blue coloration. The benefits of her PRF weapon, namely the hefty combat stat boost and effective damage, widen the range of enemy heroes she can defeat, but common green units with high Defense will still shrug off her attacks. Lyn may find herself in need of additional support if she is to serve as the team’s core offensive hero.

Strengths

Solid Offensive Stats

33/38 in Attack and Speed, with the additional +3 from Deep-Blue Bow, offers an impressive stat line that allows Lyn to deliver strong follow-up attacks against many heroes after accounting for additional bonuses. Offensive skills like Death Blow and Swift Sparrow complement her stats perfectly and sculpt her into a fearsome offensive presence.

Deep-Blue Bow

Deep-Blue Bow offers many helpful advantages including 14 might, effective damage to armored heroes, a passive +3 boost to Lyn’s Speed and a powerful boost to all of Lyn’s combat stats if her foe is at 100% HP. Lyn should have no issues meeting this requirement unless she is deployed alongside counteractive heroes such as Duma, or any hero with AoE damage effects. If the additional effect can be taken advantage of, Lyn’s combat ability improves greatly.

Flier Mobility

As a flying hero, Lyn: Lady of the Beach can traverse rough terrain that other heroes are impeded by. This allows her to attack enemy heroes from a wider range of positions, improving her ease of use and effective range.

Weaknesses

Poor Defense

Lyn’s base Defense of 20 offers little advantage: alongside her middling HP stat of 37, Lyn will struggle to sustain any physical attacks at all. Dragon heroes who can target the weaker of her defensive stats upon retaliation will also deal heavy damage.

Weakness to Flier Effectiveness

As a flying hero, Lyn’s inherent weakness to bows can leave her susceptible to OHKO from enemy archers. With her low Defense, even the weakest of archers will deal tremendous damage to her, so she should avoid these engagements at all costs.
