Assets

  • +ATK: This is the clear choice for Summer Lilina given her high base Attack and access to +4 instead of +3 with an Asset. This also works particularly well with her base weapon for a one-shot build.

  • +SPD: While this isn’t as good as +ATK, a +SPD Asset is serviceable for Summer Lilina due to getting +4 instead of +3 with an Asset. 29 Speed still isn’t particularly impressive, but it’s enough to double slower enemies who also tend to have higher defenses (particularly if Summer Lilina receives buff support from her team).

Neutral

  • RES: Summer Lilina has good Resistance, but it’s not quite as useful with an Asset compared to +ATK. However, a +RES Asset can be useful to make her more self-sufficient at applying debuffs such as her base Sabotage Def.

  • HP: Summer Lilina has pretty poor HP, but it does contribute to her strong magical bulk thanks to her Resistance. She still suffers from poor physical bulk, but a -DEF Flaw is preferable to a -HP Flaw if possible to preserve her magical bulk.

Flaws

-DEF: Summer Lilina has terrible Defense. Combined with her low HP, she is extremely susceptible to getting KO’d in a single hit from pretty much any physical damage dealing enemy, which means that taking a -DEF Flaw will hardly affect her performance.

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +ATK / -DEF or HP

  • Due to the one-shot oriented nature of this build, boosting Summer Lilina’s Attack as much as possible is ideal.

Weapon: Broadleaf Fan (+Atk/+Res)

  • Summer Lilina’s base weapon is the key to making this build work, as the additional damage based on the total debuffs applied to an opponent allows her to inflict massive damage in a single attack.

  • Both +Atk and +Res refines have merit; a +Atk refine will simply increase her damage slightly, though +1 Attack is likely not worth it compared to getting +3 Resistance from a +Res refine, which will improve upon Summer Lilina’s ability to land debuffs such as her base Sabotage Def. Note that Summer Lilina will perform significantly better with a different B skill, so having team support available for this would be ideal.

  • One important flaw with this weapon (and in turn, this build) is that it’s not particularly effective on the first enemy that Summer Lilina attacks, as they are likely not fully debuffed like the other enemies will be afterwards. There are a few ways to mitigate this, but the best way is via debuffing support from Summer Lilina’s team.

Assist: Reposition / Rally Up Res+

  • Summer Lilina’s Assist skill isn’t particularly important for this build, but a movement Assist like Reposition is always a safe bet if not wanting to utilize her base Rally Up Res+.

Special: Glimmer

  • Glimmer has a low cooldown and can deal significant amounts of damage thanks to the bonus damage gained from Broadleaf Fan, making it the clear winner for Summer Lilina’s Special.

Passive A: Atk/Res Solo / Brazen Atk/Spd (3 or 4) / Close Counter

  • Summer Lilina wants the most Attack possible out of her A skill, making a Solo skill like her base Atk/Res Solo a fantastic choice. Alternatively, for Aether Raids, a Brazen skill like Brazen Atk/Spd 3 or 4 synergizes fantastically with Vantage. However, Close Counter is likely a vital A skill to ensure that Summer Lilina can take on melee threats.

Passive B: Vantage / Sabotage Def

  • The combination of Summer Lilina’s massive damage potential and her ability to mass apply debuffs makes her a perfect candidate for Vantage, particularly if utilizing her in Aether Raids.

  • Otherwise, Summer Lilina’s base Sabotage Def synergizes nicely as it allows her fairly easy access to applying debuffs to enemies.

Passive C: Atk Smoke / Hone Cavalry / Atk Opening

  • Combining the base dagger debuff with Atk Smoke and the Spd Smoke Seal (or Spd Smoke with the Atk Smoke Seal) results in Summer Lilina mass applying -7 debuffs to all 4 stats to clustered enemies. This allows her to easily fuel the damage for Broadleaf Fan, allowing her to wipe out entire teams with Vantage.

  • If debuff support is readily available from her team, Summer Lilina can opt into any other C skill such as Hone Cavalry or her base Atk Opening.

Sacred Seal: Spd Smoke / Brazen Atk/Spd / Fierce Stance / Heavy Blade

  • Aside from stacking Smoke skills to allow Summer Lilina to mass apply debuffs, she can also utilize a Brazen skill like Brazen Atk/Spd (it doesn’t really matter much which one, as long as it boosts Attack) for even more damage.

  • Brazen skills synergize particularly well with Vantage, but if Summer Lilina is not utilizing Vantage then Fierce Stance or Heavy Blade are also great options.

Beating the Heat (Offensive Nuke)

Barb Shuriken+ (+Spd)
Alternate: Lethal Carrot+ (+Spd)
A Fury (3 or 4)
Alternate: Swift Sparrow (2 or 3)

Alternate: Rally Up Res+
B Desperation 3
Alternate: Sabotage Def 3
Moonbow
Alternate: Draconic Aura
C Atk Opening 3
SP840SDarting Blow 3
Alternate: Heavy Blade 3

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +SPD / -RES

  • Since this build doesn’t revolve around one-shot damage potential, Summer Lilina will need to boost her Speed as much as possible. A -RES Flaw is recommended over -DEF to help increase the chance that Summer Lilina can survive a single counterattack.

Weapon: Barb Shuriken (+Spd) / Lethal Carrot (+Spd)

  • Both Barb Shuriken and Lethal Carrot can greatly boost Summer Lilina’s damage output, but Barb Shuriken has the distinct benefit of not being locked to a seasonal unit. Otherwise, the main difference between the two is the resulting choice of Special and Sacred Seal.

Assist: Reposition / Rally Up Res+

  • Summer Lilina’s Assist skill isn’t particularly important for this build, but a movement Assist like Reposition is always a safe bet if not wanting to utilize her base Rally Up Res+.

Special: Moonbow / Draconic Aura

  • Summer Lilina’s choice of Special is dependent on her weapon and Sacred Seal. Barb Shuriken with Moonbow works well since Summer Lilina can activate it every combat if she doubles her opponent while in Desperation range, but she can also opt for Draconic Aura if utilizing the Heavy Blade Seal or if not utilizing Desperation.

  • If utilizing Lethal Carrot, then Moonbow is the ideal choice along with the Heavy Blade Seal, though Draconic Aura is an option if not utilizing Desperation.

Passive A: Fury (3 or 4) / Swift Sparrow (2 or 3) / Atk/Spd Solo

  • While Fury doesn’t grant quite as much offensive stats as Swift Sparrow or Atk/Spd Solo, the increased bulk is fantastic for preventing Summer Lilina from getting KO’d in a single counterattack.

  • This benefit is lessened if she has access to other forms of support such as buffs, Ally/Summoner Support, Blessings, etc., which then makes Swift Sparrow or Atk/Spd Solo much better options.

Passive B: Desperation / Sabotage Def

  • For any offensive setup that relies on doubling, Desperation is a clear choice to allow Summer Lilina to engage in multiple combats without needing to be healed in-between. However, if this is not a concern, then her base Sabotage Def will work just fine to help her individual matchups.

Passive C: Atk Opening / Flexible

  • As this build is not heavily reliant on mass applying debuffs, Summer Lilina can opt to utilize pretty much anything in her C skill.

Sacred Seal: Darting Blow / Heavy Blade / Brazen Atk/Spd

  • The Darting Blow Seal gives Summer Lilina a fantastic boost to her Speed, helping her double speedier opponents.

  • Alternatively, the Heavy Blade Seal allows her to utilize a higher cooldown Special like Draconic Aura or equip Lethal Carrot instead of Barb Shuriken for more damage output.

  • Finally, Brazen Atk/Spd is an option, though can be a bit tricky since it won’t work while Summer Lilina is at full HP.

Introduction

Summer Lilina has a statline that is very typical for her, featuring high Attack and Resistance, below average Speed, and poor HP and Defense. This statline makes her a fantastic candidate for a one-shot build, and her base kit is very well suited for this - particularly her base weapon, Broadleaf Fan.

Summer Lilina’s mass debuff capabilities synergizing perfectly with her raw damage output makes her a fantastic choice for a Vantage sweeper in Aether Raids, though her status as a red unit can be problematic against some bulkier blue threats (though meta threats like Ophelia are hardly an issue thanks to her targeting their Defense).

Overall Summer Lilina is not a particularly versatile unit, but she does have a niche that she excels at.

Strengths

High Attack

As is typical for Lilina’s various incarnations, Summer Lilina has high Attack and can boost it even higher thanks to getting +4 instead of +3 with an Asset. This also synergizes particularly well with her base kit (mainly her weapon, Broadleaf Fan).

Good Resistance

Summer Lilina’s Resistance gives her strong magical bulk, but also allows her to more easily apply debuffs to enemies with skills like her base Sabotage Def.

Strong Base Kit

Summer Lilina’s base kit is pretty strong and synergistic, though she can be significantly improved with some investment.

Cavalry

As a cavalry unit, Summer Lilina has access to superior cavalry mobility as well as access to unique cavalry buffs like Hone Cavalry.

Weaknesses

Poor Physical Bulk

Thanks to her poor HP and Defense, Summer Lilina is highly susceptible to getting KO’d by any physical damage dealers (even green units).

Cavalry Limitations

Though being a cavalry unit comes with the perks of strong mobility and access to unique buffs, it does come with heavy limitations including a weakness to anti-cavalry weapons, limited movement on certain maps due to forests and trenches, and poor skill availability.

Limited Unit

As a seasonal unit, Summer Lilina is more difficult to obtain multiple copies of for merges and to obtain optimal IVs.
