Assets

  • +ATK: Attack will be a valuable Asset for Summer Laegjarn. The extra damage will benefit her no matter what and is the ideal choice for a Close Counter Blade tome build.

  • +SPD: Speed is also a strong Asset choice. Combined with her personal weapon and Swift Sparrow 3, Summer Laegjarn with a Speed Asset will reach 50 Speed without any other support, allowing her to perform follow-up attacks against all but the fastest of units, assuming her follow-up is not blocked by other means.

Flaws

  • -HP/DEF/RES: Summer Laegjarn’s defensive stats are all lackluster. In a lot of cases, taking a hit will result in her being below 50% HP anyway, making her choice of Flaw rather moot. Any of the three defensive stats will serve her fine as the Flaw.

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +ATK or +SPD / -HP or -DEF or -RES

Ideally, Summer Laegjarn wants an Asset in either of her offensive stats with a Flaw in any of her defensive stats. If both Attack and Speed are available as an Asset, which one to use will be a matter of personal preference as both are strong choices.

Weapon: Worldsea Wave / Blárblade+

  • Worldsea Wave grants a boost of 3 Speed and allows Summer Laegjarn to make any follow-up attack immediately whenever she is above 50% HP. This is a strong personal weapon for offensive use.

  • Blárblade is always a powerful tome for offensive mages and Summer Laegjarn is no exception. This tome adds the total value of all of her buffs to her Attack, allowing for massive damage.

Assist: Reposition / Player Preference

Special: Moonbow / Glimmer

  • Moonbow and Glimmer are both strong Special options thanks to their low cooldown, allowing for consistent activation.

  • Moonbow will be a more consistent choice with Worldsea Wave, while Glimmer will make for a better option with Blárblade. Both can work well for both weapons regardless.

Passive A: Swift Sparrow 3

  • Swift Sparrow 3 is Summer Laegjarn’s default A slot skill and there’s practically no reason to run any other A slot for an offensive set. This skill grants a large boost of six Attack and seven Speed when initiating combat.

Passive B: Chill Res / Desperation / Flier Formation

  • With a Desperation effect already in her personal weapon, choosing a B slot can be tricky. A Chill skill such as Chill Res can be a good choice in order to aid Summer Laegjarn against any affected foe.

  • If she’s using Blárblade instead of Worldsea Wave, then Desperation will be a good option, allowing her to make any follow-up attack immediately when below 75% HP.

  • Flier Formation comes on Summer Laegjarn by default and is a good option for when she’s alongside other fliers.

Passive C: Hone Fliers / Player Preference

  • When alongside other fliers, Summer Laegjarn can make great use of her default C slot skill Hone Fliers.

  • If she’s not alongside other fliers or one wants to run a different C slot, then she has a wide variety of options that will be mostly up to personal preference. Spur, Drive, and Tactic skills all make the general safe choices.

Sacred Seal: Heavy Blade / Darting Blow

  • With Worldsea Wave, Heavy Blade can be a very effective Sacred Seal. So long as Summer Laegjarn has more Attack than her foe, she will gain two points of Special charge per attack. This allows her to make consistent use of Moonbow or Glimmer.

  • Darting Blow is a strong alternative option regardless of what weapon Summer Laegjarn is using, granting her a strong boost to Speed whenever initiation combat.

Blazing Beach (CC Vantage)

Blárblade+ A Close Counter
Reposition B Vantage 3
Glimmer
Alternate: Moonbow
C Res Smoke 3
Alternate: Savage Blow 3
SP1860SBrazen Atk/Spd 3
Alternate: Fierce Stance 3

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +ATK / -HP or -DEF or -RES

As Summer Laegjarn will be seeking to deal OHKOs with this build, Attack is the best option for an Asset. A flaw in any defensive stat will work fine. Even a Speed Flaw would work, but this is the Flaw she wants the least besides Attack.

Weapon: Blárblade+

  • Blárblade is a powerful offensive weapon which takes the total value of all of the buffs current present on the user and adds it to the Attack stat. When fully buffed, Summer Laegjarn will be capable of a massive amount of damage in a single attack.

Assist: Reposition

Special: Glimmer / Moonbow

  • Glimmer is the ideal Special for this build. As Glimmer has a low cooldown and its power is based off the amount of damage dealt, it’s a perfect fit for a blade tome.

  • Moonbow is also a good option thanks to having the same cooldown as Glimmer, but is otherwise inferior for the purpose of this set.

Passive A: Close Counter

  • Close Counter allows Summer Laegjarn to retaliate against any foe that attacks her in close quarters, assuming they don’t have any skill which blocks counterattacks such as a Firesweep weapon.

  • Without Close Counter, this set loses a lot of its appeal and is not recommended without it.

Passive B: Vantage

  • Vantage allows Summer Laegjarn to retaliate first whenever she is attacked when below 75% HP.

  • This is imperative to this set as the intent is for Summer Laegjarn to defeat all of the necessary opponents in a single attack before they even get a chance to fight back. Vantage is important to ensure that Summer Laegjarn is not defeated before she has a chance to attack.

Passive C: Res Smoke / Savage Blow / Hone Fliers / Player Preference

  • Res Smoke is a great C slot choice. As it debuffs the Resistance of all foes around anyone that Summer Laegjarn fights, this helps her to deal more damage.

  • Savage Blow is a decent budget option which makes Summer Laegjarn deal a small amount of AoE damage after any combat she initiates.

Sacred Seal: Brazen Atk/Spd / Brazen Atk/Def / Brazen Atk/Res / Fierce Stance

  • The Brazen skills work perfectly as a Sacred Seal choice for this set. Since Summer Laegjarn needs to be below 75% HP to use Vantage, she’ll also have a Brazen skill active as well. Any of the Brazen skills which boost Attack will be the best option for a Sacred Seal.

  • Fierce Stance is also a good option. The Attack buff it provides is less than a Brazen and is only active on Enemy Phase, but otherwise has no other requirement to activate.

Introduction

The eldest Princess of Múspell Laegjarn has decided to join us for a trip to the beach for some fun in the sun. This time, she’s absolutely rocking her very own swimsuit and joins as a powerful blue tome flier.

Offensively, Summer Laegjarn has a lot going for her. Her strong personal weapon combined with her great offensive stats and flier mobility makes her an extremely potent choice for an offensive unit. She surpasses the likes of other previous blue tome fliers such as Summer Corrin and Summer Camilla because of this. She is very frail though with lackluster defensive stats across the board.

Overall, Summer Laegjarn will perform exceptionally as a strong offensive flier. She will be best utilized alongside other fliers where she will be able to put skills like her default Flier Formation and Hone Fliers to use and will also be able to benefit from flier buffs. Give her the opportunity and Summer Laegjarn will leave a blistering burn upon the enemies.

Strengths

Worldsea Wave

Worldsea Wave is Summer Laegjarn’s personal weapon. This tome is identical to Lewyn’s Forseti, granting a free boost of three Speed and allowing Summer Laegjarn to make any follow-up attack immediately whenever she is above 50% HP. This is a great personal weapon for offensive play.

Great Offensive Stats

Summer Laegjarn comes with a solid 34 Attack and 37 Speed, one of the strongest offensive spreads amongst all blue mages. With these stats, Summer Laegjarn is capable of dealing a lot of damage thanks to her raw attack power and very high follow-up potential.

Flier

Being a flier, Summer Laegjarn is able to enhance her offensive power through flier buffs and superior mobility. Fliers are able to pass over terrain other movement types cannot cross such as mountains and water, allowing Summer Laegjarn to have more options and greater flexibility with positioning.

Weaknesses

Low Defensive Stats

Summer Laegjarn suffers from poor defensive stats across the board. With 37 HP, 20 Defense, and 21 Resistance, Summer Laegjarn will take considerable damage from both physical and magical attacks alike. Caution will need to be taken as if she’s attacked once, that can very well be enough to knock her below 50% HP and unable to utilize Worldsea Wave.

Flier Skill Limitations

Being a Flier, Summer Laegjarn does suffer compared to infantry blue mages in terms of skill choices. Two notable skills she cannot use but infantry mages can are Special Spiral and Null Follow-Up, both of which would be fantastic B slot skills for her if she could use them.
