Boons
-
+ATK: Given Summer Cordelia’s already blistering Speed stat, an Attack boon is an extremely potent option for her. The extra Attack will help her to deal much greater damage assuming she can still obtain the follow-up attack. Given that aforementioned Speed stat, obtaining follow-up attacks with an Attack boon is a more than possible feat.
-
+SPD: With a Speed boon, Summer Cordelia is brought up to a staggering 41 Speed. With a Speed boon and the right skills and support, there will be very little which can avoid a follow-up attack from her, with even the fastest of units such as Karla potentially struggling to avoid her double.
Neutral
-
HP: Summer Cordelia comes with a surprisingly plentiful 41 HP. If necessary, she is certainly capable of taking a couple of hits thanks to this HP stat combined with her Defense. As such, HP is recommended to keep neutral if possible.
-
DEF: On top of her HP, Summer Cordelia also comes with a respectable 28 Defense. While this isn’t crazy high, this combined with her good HP and high Speed makes Summer Cordelia deceptively bulky. Keep Defensive neutral if possible is recommended. A Defense boon is even a good option if one wants to run a defensive set on her.
Banes
-
-RES: Resistance is Summer Cordelia’s easy ideal dump stat in all scenarios. Not only is her Resistance very low to begin with, but it is by far her least important stat overall. Luckily, the Resistance superboon Summer Cordelia has does not lower her BST scoring bin.

With her amazing offensive stats, Summer Cordelia is a prime candidate for the typical Firesweep build.
Summer Cordelia will ideally want either an Attack or Speed boon to push her offensive stats further. A bane in any of the defensive stats will be fine considering she won’t be attacked on player phase, but Resistance is still optimal overall in case she does need to take a hit on enemy phase. The Firesweep Lance itself is a powerful weapon that allows Summer Cordelia to completely block enemy counterattacks but also suffering from not being able to counterattack herself. The Assist slot is open to whatever one desires, with Reposition being a safe choice for most cavaliers. For the Special, Moonbow works great thanks to the low cooldown that synergizes well with Heavy Blade. Glimmer is also great too for the same reason. Luna is also powerful, though at the cost of a higher cooldown.
In the A slot, Atk/Spd Solo gives Summer Cordelia a huge offensive boost when she has no nearby allies. This pairs perfectly with the offensive playstyle of this build since she’ll often be away from her team when attacking anyway. A much cheaper but still plentifully powerful option is Life and Death, with the loss of defensive stats being much less of an issue since Summer Cordelia will block enemy counterattacks anyway. Even cheaper still is Fury, granting a all-around boost to her stats. Chill skills synergize well with the Firesweep Lance since there is no need for B slot skills such as Desperation. Both Chill Spd and Chill Def will have an effect on Summer Cordelia’s overall performance. Drag Back and Hit and Run are also good options, allowing Summer Cordelia to retreat back one space after combat.
The C slot is quite flexible. Summer Cordelia can make great use of Wave skills such as Even Spd Wave or Even Atk Wave to power herself up without any external support. A Wave skill is absolutely not required for this build to function, so feel free to experiment and see what works. If she’s alongside other cavaliers, she’ll want to take a Cavalry Buff such as Hone Cavalry instead. Finally, Heavy Blade makes for a fantastic Sacred Seal option. As long as Summer Cordelia has more Attack than her opponent, she’ll charge her Special by two instead of one per attack, allowing her to consistently charge Moonbow or Glimmer. If this Seal is unavailable, simply using either a Speed or Attack Seal is a good option.

Summer Cordelia doesn’t need a Firesweep Lance to be powerful offensively. In fact, she can be very strong on the attack with a selection of other weapons instead.
Again, Summer Cordelia would prefer a boon in either Attack or Speed for the offensive boost. Resistance remains her best overall bane. For the weapon, Harmonic Lance works great, giving extra power to her Special attacks whenever they activate. Her default Shell Lance is also a great choice, giving her a small boost to all stats when she initiates combat. In both cases, refining the weapon for the Speed refine will give Summer Cordelia great offensive potential. The Assist is fully flexible. Reposition is a general choice for cavaliers. For the Special, either Moonbow or Glimmer allows Summer Cordelia to consistently activate her Special thanks to their low cooldown and gain the most benefit from the Harmonic Lance.
For the A slot, Atk/Spd Solo grants a huge offensive boost when Summer Cordelia has no adjacent allies. However, this skill is very expensive and it sometimes might not be possible to activate it. Swift Sparrow is a strong alternative, granting a lower offensive boost but only having the simple requirement of initiating combat. A good budget option is Fury, granting an overall stat boost and the recoil damage somewhat assisting Summer Cordelia in that it helps her to more easily reach the Desperation threshold. Speaking of, Desperation is a fantastic choice for the B slot, allowing Summer Cordelia to make any follow-up attack immediately after her first. Outside of this, both Chill Spd and Chill Def work great.
A wave skill such as Even Atk Wave or Even Spd Wave works great in the C slot, boosting Summer Cordelia and adjacent allies on every other turn. A Wave skill is far from necessary though. If she’s on a cavalry team, giving her a Cavalry Buff such as Hone Cavalry will likely be a superior option. Heavy Blade works great as a Sacred Seal, letting Summer Cordelia fully charge her Special in a single hit should she have more Attack than her opponent which in turn allows her to consistently activate Moonbow or Glimmer even with Desperation active. Outside of this, either a Speed or Attack Seal will give Summer Cordelia one last helpful offensive push.

Offense is not all Summer Cordelia is capable of. In a twist of events, she also makes for a strong defensive option.
With this build, either Speed or Defense will be Summer Cordelia’s best option, with both helping her defensive capabilities. Resistance remains the optimal bane. For the weapon, the Tannenboom! grants Summer Cordelia with a small but helpful boost to stats when attacked. Alternatively, the Slaying Lance is also a great option that helps Summer Cordelia to activate Specials more frequently. Refining either for Speed or Defense will help her defensively. The Assist slot is open to player preference, with Reposition being a safe general choice. Moonbow makes for a great Special as Summer Cordelia will consistently activate it almost every battle. Luna is also a good option with more power but a longer charge compared to Moonbow. If one wants Summer Cordelia to heal herself through her attacks, Noontime can also be considered.
Steady Stance 4 grants Summer Cordelia with a massive Defense boost when attacked, as well as prevent her opponent from charging their Special and helping to alleviate the Special charging effect of skills such as Bold Fighter. Steady Stance 3 is much cheaper than the level 4 version but is much less desirable overall. Still, Steady Stance 3 is a potential option. Alternatively, Close Def give Summer Cordelia a defensive boost whenever attacked from melee distance. Fury is a solid budget option that gives an overall boost to Summer Cordelia’s combat performance. Since Summer Cordelia is so fast, she is less reliant on Quick Riposte and has greater B slot flexibility. Renewal grants her some beneficial self-sustainability through healing. Guard is another option, preventing opponents from charging their Special and alleviating the Special charging effect of skills such as Bold Fighter. However, Guard comes built into Steady Stance 4, so do not use Guard with Steady Stance 4. Quick Riposte itself also remains a good option as Summer Cordelia will not always be capable of securing a follow-up attack.
Wave skills such as Even Def Wave allow Summer Cordelia to sustain herself through self-buffs every other turn. However, these skills are not at all necessary for this build to perform well. If she’s alongside other cavalry units, she would prefer to run a Cavalry Buff such as Hone Cavalry instead. Atk/Def Bond makes for a fantastic Sacred Seal choice, giving Summer Cordelia which some much beneficial Attack and Defense whenever adjacent to an ally. Close Def is also a great option for the Sacred Seal. Even the simple Speed Seal is a good option too.
Introduction
Cordelia, the knight prodigy from Ylisse, has returned to Heroes once more. This time, she’s here for a trip to the seaside for some summer fun. Summer Cordelia is a lance cavalier, primarily focused on offensive potential. Statwise, there is a lot to like about her.
First, Summer Cordelia possesses a strong 32/38 offensive spread. She hits hard and has great doubling potential as well. One would expect such offensive capabilities to come at the cost of defensive capabilities, but that’s not true with Summer Cordelia. She also possesses a solid 41 HP and 28 Defense, giving her good physical bulk that’s only supported further by her high Speed. Her one weak point is her Resistance which is really bad, but it’s not enough to subtract majorly from Summer Cordelia’s overall great package.
Overall, Summer Cordelia is everything one would want from an offensive cavalier. She has amazing offensive stats and even possesses great defensive stats too bar Resistance. If one is looking for just that, you can’t get much better than Summer Cordelia.
Strengths
Strong offensive stats
With 32 Attack and 38 Speed, Summer Cordelia already secures her place as a powerful offensive unit. The 38 Speed is her main selling point, giving her fantastic potential to perform follow-up attacks. 32 Attack is not the highest, but it’s more than plenty to work with. She can make great use out of weapons such as the Firesweep Lance, Harmonic Lance, and her default Shell Lance thanks to these offensive stats.
Deceptively High Physical Bulk
With 41 HP and 28 Defense, Summer Cordelia is more than capable of taking some physical punishment. Combined with her high Speed which helps her to avoid enemy follow-up attacks, Summer Cordelia can become surprisingly tricky to take down with physical units. These defensive stats are high enough to the point where a defensive setup is more than possible, particularly since Summer Cordelia does not necessarily need Quick Riposte thanks to her Speed.
Cavalry Strengths
Cavalry themselves have a lot of natural strengths that benefit Summer Cordelia. Namely, their movement range of three makes it easier for Summer Cordelia to reach and attack her foes. She can also benefit massively from Cavalry Buffs which are easy to acquire.
Weaknesses
Low Resistance
The weakest link in Summer Cordelia’s statline, her Resistance of 18 is downright bad. Mages and dragons alike will prove to be a serious threat to her. Even red mages and dragons will be able to do considerable damage despite the Weapon Triangle disadvantage. Keeping Summer Cordelia away from magical threats as much as possible is advised.
Cavalry Weaknesses
Cavalry units have their strengths, but they also have their distinct weaknesses. They are the movement type most hindered by terrain, being stopped by trenches and being completely unable to cross forest tiles at all. This can hurt Summer Cordelia severely as the terrain could very well stop her from reaching her target or getting her to where she needs to be.
Team Options
Counters
Magic is the primary means for defeating Summer Cordelia. Ensuring that she keeps well away from these threats is imperative. On top of this, defensive greens will also prove to be a troublesome foe.
-
Mages: Regardless of their color, mages will always be capable of putting a considerable dent into Summer Cordelia thanks to her low resistance. The primary threat is green mages such as Lewyn, SF Nino, and Gunnthrá, all easily capable of cutting through her pitiful Resistance. Blue mages such as Reinhardt and Ophelia will also prove to be a problem. Both forms of Micaiah are also considerable threats thanks to possessing personal tomes which deal effective damage to Cavalry.
-
Defensive Green Fighters: Summer Cordelia falls victim to the Weapon Triangle as much as everyone else does. There are a lot of green fighters out there who possess strong defensive capabilities. This includes but is not limited to all forms of Armads wielding Hector, Brave Ephraim, Amelia, Brave Ike, and Dorcas. While a Summer Cordelia with Firesweep Lance can avoid their counters, she’ll be dealing little damage to them regardless.
- Dragons: Dragons are a primary threat due to their breaths targeting the Resistance stat. If allowed to get an attack upon Summer Cordelia, they will deal considerable damage, if not KO. The biggest dragon threats are the green ones such as Fallen Robin M, Myrrh, and Adrift Corrin F, but the other dragons such as Legendary Tiki and Halloween Myrrh will also prove to be a problem if allowed to attack.

The sole purpose of this build is to make Cordelia hit hard and double foes so she can easily activate Galeforce.
Shell Lance+ can work really well for this build’s purpose, as it can boost her stats during Player Phase combat - and this Cordelia build is strictly PP oriented. With a base speed of 41 she’s going to double pretty much everyone, especially if buffed by her teammates. Thanks to her weapon, during combat she will have 43 speed and 46 attack. With an attack refinement on her weapon, she will reach 48 attack.
To increase her ability to double and secure kills, Life and Death 3 can be a solid A skill to turn her into a speedy monster. Sacrificing her defense and resistance means she needs to secure kills to not be put in danger of being KOed. But what we want is a speedy cavalier that can strike down as many enemies as possible. With L&D 3 her attack and speed will be 53 and 46 respectively, which is more than enough (not counting Shell Lance+ combat buffs).
Glass cannon Cordelia needs some help to deal with buffed enemies, and her Dull Close 3 skill can help her during combat, neutralizing her foes’ buffs (unless they’re tomes, bows or staves).
Her C skill can be anything, I chose Fortify Cavalry as I run her in a Cavalry team.
To add some more spice, a simple Attack +3 Sacred Seal can give her a bit more power.
With an HP bane and Life and Death 3 active, Cordelia is extremely frail. But with some buffs she can strike down her enemies and proc Galeforce, but in exchange some repositioning can help her avoid being targeted by enemies.

+SPD -RES makes it so she won’t be doubled and will be able to double most enemy’s. Since minus Resistance is her weakest stat and it won’t affect how she fights.
Reposition would be best for her since she is a Calvary unit but it can change depend on what you prefer.
Moonbow is best for her because she can do a lot of damage along with her great attack.
Brazen Atk/Spd 3 is best for her because if she goes bellow 36 health she will have a clean 55 attack and 48 speed making her do a lot of damage and being able to always double everyone.
Desperation 3 is the best because once she activates brazen atk/spd she will be able to always attack twice first and will mostly likely take down the target.
Hone Calvary makes her great with a horse team but it can change depending on how you are running. If she isn’t on a Calvary team then I would run Attack Smoke 3.
For the Seal I would run Atk/Res 3 because it can make her attack go up to 62 attack and 21 res along with atk/spd 3.
All of these combined will makes her a fierce opponent to face.

Boon: Spd, Atk
Bane: HP, Def/Res
If you manage to get an HP Bane, Ardent Sacrifice can be used instead of Reciprocal Aid. Otherwise you need to get Cordelia's HP down 11 points, or to 30 HP (or lower). Once Cordelia is at/past the 75% Threshold, if you have a Spd Boon, you will be able to quad anything with 41 or less Spd, 47 (41/47) with Hone Buffs, in other words, all but the insanely fast. If you lack a Spd Boon, it drops to 38/44, which covers significantly less units, but if you happen to have an Atk Boon, you are doing 12 more damage than you would have otherwise on those units. You could arguably switch out Spd +3 with Brash Assault to guarantee quads on everyone save Lance Breakers, but that would be putting Cordelia's outstanding Speed to waste, though definitely an option if yours has a Spd Bane. Whichever way you decide to go, she will hit hard, at 47/53 Atk, or 50/56 if you have an Atk Boon, she tears through all but the bulkiest units, which could still be taken care of if you replace Galeforce with Luna, which would proc at the last hit of every quad, likely finishing off whatever is left of your opponent's HP pool.

This build was inspired by the Galeforce build for Legendary Ephraim, whom I benched for Summer Cordelia, and primarily meant for horse-emblem teams.
The objective is simple; using her blistering speed, and respectable attack (which can be pushed to a very nice number with boon, +attack refine, and hone), initiate on the enemy, ensure the double attack, trigger Galeforce.
Weapon:
Slaying Lance+'s special charge time reduction is a massive boon over Legendary Ephraim's personal weapon for a Galeforce set; you're not relying on the enemy to swing back at Cordelia to trigger Galeforce in one round of combat every turn since it will be a 4 charge instead of 5, and she has the raw speed with sufficient support to guarantee the double attack against most of the game without needing to use a specific lance to do it (as long as the enemy isn't using Great Flame, or Wary Fighter).
Assist:
Reposition
Special:
Galeforce is the selling point
A:
Swift Sparrow or Fury are both acceptable skills to use since they both give Cordelia more of what she needs to make Galeforce work every turn. The choice depends on what you can afford to get, and your pick of B skill.
B:
Dull Close in my opinion is a very powerful skill most melee units wouldn't want to be without against other -emblem teams, tactic-users, and rally-ers that automatically nullifies the bonuses of a melee opponent which has its uses offensively and defensively: Stripping attack bonuses to reduce incoming damage as well as help Cordelia to trigger heavy blade against a buffed opponent, defense to make the target softer, and most importantly, speed to make it that much more likely the target gets doubled. Of course, none of this matters if the enemy isn't buffed in the first place.
The other option is Desperation to pair with Fury, or Guard for better defense against specials.
C:
A flexible slot for your team's needs. I use either Goad Cavalry to push team offense even further due to the presence of two Hones and a Fortify already, or I use Attack Smoke to help Cordelia be a deceptively stubborn target when she brings the fight to the enemy. Speed Smoke is another option too, but I personally don't use it since I have a Chill Speed on another unit to specifically de-fang the worst speed-offender on the enemy team every turn passively.
Seal:
Heavy Blade is mandatory to make 1-turn galeforce triggering possible.

This is a quick run down of my build Summer Cordelia build atm!
Preferred IVs
+Atk -HP/ +Atk -Res
Weapon - Shell Lance (+SPD)
Her default lance is actually ridiculously good for this build as its give her both a boost to her offensive and defensive stats on initiation. As for why I chose a SPD refine, I will go more indepth on that when I explain her A slot.
Skill - Reposition/Preference
This can be interchangeable depending on what you prefer/need for her to do. As I usually use reposition to move my dancers or mages from a risky situation.
Special - Galeforce/DMG Special
I use Galeforce over DMG specials because she isn't too reliant on it to kill. As Galeforce opens up many opportunities for her to kill 3 units in a row with the help of a dancer, or to back off so she doesn't get targeted. But if you don't want or have Galeforce as your special, DMG Specials like Luna, Moonbow, etc, it will be useful for killing more tankier units she would have been able to kill if she used Galeforce.
A Slot - Brazen Atk/Spd 3
I original used LnD 3 for her until I realize how well Brazen Atk/Spd synergies with Desperation. Being how their threshold requirement is so close to one another ( Brazen Atk/Spd 3 is 80% and Desperation 3 is 75%) as she needs to be at least 32 HP out of 41 to meet the requirements. As when you do reach 32 health or lower, you will have access to 58 Atk and 50 Spd on initiation in addition to being able to double before the enemy gets to attack you. And with speed like that, she will basically double most units if not all.
B Slot- Desperation 3
As I mentioned before, it allows you to confirm most kills by letting Cordelia double twice with a 58 Attack stat line which will one shot many units in her way
C Slot- Odd Attack Wave/Buff/Debuff Skills
This depends on what you prefer once again, as Odd Attack Wave is quite rare. But if you do use it, it will give her a attack stat of 64 on initiation which might be a bit over kill actually. Or you could use buffs and debuffs like fortify calvary or smoke skills as secondary choice.
Seal - Heavy Blade/+Atk 3/+Spd 3
Heavy Blade will allow Cordelia to charge up her 5 cool down special quicker. As she will be able to activate Galeforce in two turns if your in desperation levels. Allowing her to potentially gain a etra turn to run/fight or kill depending on what special you chose. As for the other options, it is if you think she need the extra offensive attack to either oneshot more or double more if your think their are units with 45+ speed.
