Boon

  • +ATK: With a weapon that guarantees a follow-up no matter the Phase, Attack makes for the best boon for WT Reinhardt. An Attack boon will put WT Reinhardt at 38 Attack which is amazing for a brave weapon user.

Neutral

  • HP / DEF / RES: With 40 HP, 31 Defense, and 28 Resistance, WT Reinhardt possesses good bulk across the board. While WT Reinhardt with a bane in any of these stats will still perform well, maintaining his bulk will help him on Enemy Phase.

Bane

  • -SPD: WT Reinhardt has very low Speed that is reduced further by his weapon. Given his weapon already provides a guaranteed follow-up on both Enemy and Player Phase, Speed makes for WT Reinhardt’s safest choice of bane.

  • Passive C: Spur Atk/Def / Cavalry buff

  • Sacred Seal: Quick Riposte / Distant Def / Close Def

Unlike his magical counterpart, WT Reinhardt makes for a fantastic Enemy Phase unit.

WT Reinhardt’s Enemy Phase capabilities come from Meisterschwert, his incredibly powerful Brave Sword with the notable advantage of working during Enemy Phase. Since his weapon allows him to always double even on Enemy Phase, he can become a monster with just a little bit of damage. An Attack boon with a Speed bane is recommended. Attack will increase his already high offensive potential while the loss in Speed won’t affect his capabilities too much. His Assist is mostly left to personal preference. Reposition makes for a nice safe choice for cavaliers. Moonbow makes for a great special since he’ll always activate it when he’s attacked. Bonfire is another good choice thanks to his fairly good Defense.

The combination of Distant Counter and Vantage is what makes this set so powerful. Distant Counter allows WT Reinhardt to retaliate on ranged opponents. Vantage allows WT Reinhardt to attack first on Enemy Phase when he is below 75% HP. When these skills are used in combination, whoever attacks him will have to endure two attacks before they even get the chance to fight back, making WT Reinhardt an incredibly tricky opponent for the enemy. For a more close range focused setup, Fierce Stance will give him a considerable boost to Attack on Enemy Phase. Quick Riposte also makes for a decent alternative B slot, allowing him to perform a guaranteed follow-up attack on Enemy Phase whenever he is above 70% HP. His default Spur Atk/Def makes for a good safe choice so he can boost the Attack and Defense of adjacent allies. Being a cavalry unit, taking one of the cavalry buffs such as Hone Cavalry is ideal if he’s being used alongside other cavaliers.

For his Sacred Seal, the Quick Riposte Seal allows WT Reinhardt to make a guaranteed follow-up attack on Enemy Phase whenever he is above 70% HP. If Quick Riposte is being used in the B slot or one desires a different Sacred Seal, both Distant Def and Close Def make for good choices.

  • Passive A: Death Blow

  • Passive B: Chill Def / Swordbreaker

  • Passive C: Spur Atk/Def / Cavalry buff

  • Sacred Seal: Quickened Pulse

Just like his magical counterpart, WT Reinhardt can perform extremely well with a Player Phase set.

Meisterschwert is a great weapon for both Phases, allowing for a guaranteed double attack on both Phases. An Attack boon allows WT Reinhardt to deal more damage while a Speed bane won’t hamper him greatly. Reposition is a nice general choice for cavaliers, allowing Reinhardt to move his allies and aid with positioning. In reality though, the Assist slot is quite flexible. Moonbow is a solid Special on WT Reinhardt due to it’s low cooldown. Bonfire is also a strong choice thanks to his good Defense stat.

Death Blow is his optimal choice for a offensive set, increasing WT Reinhardt’s Attack considerably when he initiates combat. Chill Def allows WT Reinhardt to debuff the Defense of the highest Defense enemy, thus helping his offensive potential against that unit. Swordbreaker is a decent budget alternative that allows him to more consistently deal with higher Defense sword units such as the Black Knight. His default Spur Atk/Def is a fine option that allows him to buff adjacent allies. A Cavalry Buff such as Hone Cavalry is recommended if he is alongside other cavaliers.

Quickened Pulse makes for an amazing Sacred Seal for WT Reinhardt. By reducing his Special cooldown by 1 at the start of the battle, Reinhardt will always activate Moonbow on his second attack, allowing for a more powerful opening attack.

Show Explanation/Analysis
  • Preferred IV: +ATK / -SPD

  • Weapon: Meisterschwert

  • Assist: Reciprocal Aid

  • Special: Luna / Bonfire

  • Passive A: Death Blow

  • Passive B: Desperation

  • Passive C: Spur Atk/Def / Cavalry buff

  • Sacred Seal: Brash Assault

Through the magic of the Brash Assault Sacred Seal, WT Reinhardt can bypass his Speed entirely and perform quad attacks.

Meisterschwert is a extremely powerful Brave Sword, guaranteeing a double attack on both Player and Enemy Phase. An Attack boon with Speed bane is recommended, giving WT Reinhardt more offensive potential while not hindering him much. Reciprocal Aid allows WT Reinhardt to trade his HP with one of his allies. Given Brash Assault has a rather strict HP requirement, this Assist can help with reaching that threshold. Luna makes for a great choice of Special, especially since he’ll always activate it if he performs a quad attack. For the same reasons, Bonfire is also a good option.

The star of the show is the Brash Assault Sacred Seal. This skill allows WT Reinhardt to perform a follow-up attack against an opponent who can counter should he be below 50% HP. Given WT Reinhardt is using a Brave weapon, this allows him to perform quad attacks on opponents who can counter him. In combination with the Desperation skill, WT Reinhardt can perform four attacks before the opponent even has a chance to react. Death Blow further increases WT Reinhardt’s damage output whenever he’s initiating combat. Spur Atk/Def is a nice and cheap option for his C slot which helps him to support his allies. If WT Reinhardt is alongside cavalry however, a Cavalry Buff such as Hone Cavalry would be a strong option.

Introduction

You better prepare yourself because the one and only Reinhardt, the tiny handed legend himself is back. For his second appearance in Heroes, Reinhardt has ditched his Dire Thunder tome in favor of a new extremely powerful sword (as well as bigger hands) and he certainly carries the stats to use it effectively.

WT Reinhardt possesses the Meisterschwert. This beast of a weapon allows him to perform a second attack on both Player and Enemy Phase for incredible offensive potential. This is on top of his solid Attack and great mixed bulk. His only downside is his pitiful Speed that’s only reduced further by his weapon, but even this cannot hinder WT Reinhardt’s overall offensive potential.

All these factors combined leads to WT Reinhardt being a simply amazing unit. His weapon is astonishingly good and he certainly does not let it go to waste. Whether you want him built for Player Phase, Enemy Phase, or even somewhere in between, Reinhardt will show you just why he’s become so infamous on the battlefield.

Strengths

Meisterschwert

The Meisterschwert is a Brave Sword exclusive to WT Reinhardt, granting him with a guaranteed second attack at the cost of five Speed. However, this Brave Sword is no ordinary Brave Sword. Unlike other swords of its kind such as Amiti or the regular Brave Sword, the Meisterschwert gives a second attack regardless of who’s attacking, so not only will the brave effect work on Player Phase, but it will also work on Enemy Phase as well. The fact that Meisterschwert works on both Phases gives WT Reinhardt amazing build flexibility and overall amazing offensive potential.

High Attack

With an impressive Attack stat of 35, WT Reinhardt is able to hit very hard and deal a lot of damage. This complements the Meisterschwert very much so, allowing Reinhardt to deal two powerful attacks in quick succession.

Good Mixed Bulk

His awesome offenses aren’t Reinhardt’s only selling point. His 40 HP, 31 Defense, and 28 Resistance gives him solid mixed bulk. He is capable of taking both physical and magical hits fairly well, but his low Speed does hinder his bulk by quite a bit, so don’t expect him to last forever if he’s under constant attack.

Weaknesses

Low Speed

Staying true to his original self, WT Reinhardt possesses frankly terrible Speed. His low base Speed to 23 combined with the Meisterschwert reducing it further means he sits at a measly 18 Speed when neutral. There are very few units who are not capable of performing a double attack against WT Reinhardt with the exception of other very slow units such as Zephiel. This can hinder his bulk quite considerably, especially if WT Reinhardt is unable to retaliate on his attacker.

Team Options

WT Reinhardt simply needs one thing: The power to destroy his opponents. He will benefit most when he’s alongside units that can help him reach his true potential, as well as units that can assist him against blue units he may sometimes struggle with.

  • Cavaliers: Being a cavalier himself, pairing WT Reinhardt alongside other cavaliers is an obvious choice. Any cavalier can potentially provide him with cavalry buffs such as Hone Cavalry and Fortify Cavalry, giving him a staggering six point boost to all stats should he be affected by both skills. Blue cavalier options include Reinhardt, Legendary Ephraim, and Spring Catria. Green cavalier options include Gunnthrá, WT Olwen, and Cecilia. Colorless cavalier options include Brave Lyn, LA Roy, and Elise.

  • Buffers: Outside of cavalier teams, there is a good selection of competent units that can provide a good buff to WT Reinhardt. Both Linde and Delthea possess Dark Aura which can grant WT Reinhardt with a substantial Attack boost. Brave Lucina can also provide a good overall offensive boost, though this requires her to be close to WT Reinhardt. Both Eirika and Ephraim can potentially boost all of WT Reinhardt’s stats at once thanks to their personal weapons. Marth can also provide an all around boost to his stats, but like Brave Lucina, he needs to be near WT Reinhardt in order to give him this buff.

  • Strong Green Fighters: Thanks to the Weapon Triangle advantage that they have, WT Reinhardt can struggle at dealing with blue units. Having a strong melee green unit such as LA Hector, Brave Ike, or Fallen Robin will allow them to assist WT Reinhardt in fighting blue units. There are also plenty of strong green mages such as Nino and Spring Sharena if one wants a magical counter to blues.
Counters

WT Reinhardt doesn’t fear much, but the Weapon Triangle can certainly affect his performance against blue foes.

  • Blue Mages: While WT Reinhardt possesses fairly good Resistance, blue mages can still deal with him quite well. His biggest threats by far are Reinhardt and Micaiah as these mages can consistently deal with a Distant Counter WT Reinhardt. Reinhardt can deal with WT Reinhardt very well thanks to his Dire Thunder tome whereas Micaiah’s Thani grants effective damage against cavalry, allowing her to obtain a OHKO with ease. If WT Reinhardt is not using Distant Counter, strong offensive blue mages such as Linde, Delthea, and Lute can deal with him. Should WT Reinhardt be using Distant Counter, these mages are not as effective, but can still obtain a KO with Desperation.

  • Defensive Blue units: Even with his immense power, WT Reinhardt still falls prey to the Weapon Triangle. Blue units with a defensive playstyle can still bait WT Reinhardt and take little damage in return. Units such as Nowi, Female Corrin, Hardin, Effie, Shiro, Lukas, and Tana all possess strong defensive potential and can resist WT Reinhardt fairly well.

  • Archers: Given WT Reinhardt’s extremely low speed, the vast majority of archers will have little problem with doubling Reinhardt. Brave Lyn and Halloween Jakob in particular pose significant threats. Brave Lyn can use Sacae’s Blessing to block Distant Counter if WT Reinhardt has it. Halloween Jakob can quad attack with ease using Bold Fighter and resist WT Reinhardt’s retaliation should he have Distant Counter. The Firesweep Bow is also a popular option for archers. Any archer equipped with this weapon can avoid WT Reinhardt’s counterattack if he has Distant Counter. If WT Reinhardt does not have Distant Counter, he can be an easy target for archers such as Bridal Cordelia and Innes if they are using a Brave Bow.
