Assets

  • +SPD: Boasting an exceptional base Speed stat of 37, Picnic Felicia is amongst one of the fastest units in the game as well as one of the very few armored units not entirely reliant upon skills such as Bold or Vengeful Fighter to perform follow-up attacks. A Speed Asset makes for a strong choice of IVs to further build upon this unique characteristic — combined with the bonuses she can attain via her personal weapon, this enables her to perform as a powerful user of Special Fighter.

  • +ATK: Alternatively, Picnic Felicia can take an Attack Asset to help circumvent the stat’s somewhat middling base value, allowing her to be much less reliant on Special activations for her damage output.

Neutral

  • RES: A Resistance Asset can potentially serve as a decent option to maximize the use of her personal weapon and increase the power of Resistance-scaling Specials, however, a boost to either one of her offensive stats will still produce far greater returns, making it best to simply leave this stat alone.

  • DEF: Picnic Felicia’s Defense stat should be left untouched as well. Although elevating it is not a bad option by any means, the fact that the majority of her overall bulk comes from her ability to consistently deny her opponent’s follow-up attack and from Eldhrímnir’s effect (as opposed to strictly from her defensive stats) means that she will ultimately benefit much more from receiving an offensive boost instead.

Flaws

  • -HP: An HP Flaw can be considered ideal as it allows her to comfortably preserve all of her other stats which she will typically find herself needing more frequently.

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +ATK or +SPD -HP

This build aims to capitalize on Picnic Felicia’s ability to perform as a potent generalist capable of functioning as an exceptional wall against a wide breadth of foes, a role which she can fulfill exceedingly well thanks to her status as one of the few armored units that can reliably perform follow-up attacks in both phases without necessitating the use of Bold or Vengeful Fighter. This provides her with the flexibility of taking Special Fighter as her chosen B slot skill to further capitalize on her unique playstyle, effectively granting her the ability to control the course of any battle in her favor. Given Special Fighter’s inability to actually guarantee her follow-up attack, however, a Speed Asset (alongside accompanying team support to her Speed stat) can be considered ideal here, though an Attack Asset remains a strong option as well to increase her damage output outside of Special activations.

Weapon: Eldhrímnir

  • Picnic Felicia’s personal weapon, Eldhrímnir, complements this build’s intended playstyle rather well, providing her with +3 Speed as well as with a potentially dramatic boost to her overall survivability through the Atk/Spd in-combat debuffs she can apply on her opponent based on the difference between their Resistance stats.

  • Although consistently maintaining a +16 Resistance advantage against her opponent to achieve its maximum potential can prove to be a rather daunting task, Eldhrímnir will still prove to be quite useful in virtually every round of combat thanks to her stellar base Resistance stat of 35.

  • This weapon also comes with the additional benefit of letting Picnic Felicia deal effective damage against beast units, making her a potent counter to such foes though the limited number of them in the game at the time of writing does make this effect more of a nice bonus as opposed to the sole focus of Picnic Felicia’s capabilities.

Assist: Swap / Flexible

Special: Glacies

  • Glacies scales quite nicely with Picnic Felicia’s strong base Resistance stat, granting her a formidable +28 damage boost upon activation. Also, as a Special with a four-turn cooldown, Glacies also lets her to make the greatest use of Special Fighter’s Breath-like effect of Special acceleration and will activate in any round of combat in which she can perform a follow-up attack, regardless of who initiates combat.

Passive A: Distant Counter / Fury / Fort. Def/Res / Spd/Def Bond

  • Distant Counter makes for Picnic Felicia’s ideal choice of A slot skill simply due to the sheer versatility that it offers her, allowing her to leverage her phenomenal mixed bulk and good offensive capabilities against melee and ranged foes alike.

  • Should one wish to focus solely on her matchups against melee opponents, Fury (3 or 4) can be taken to enhance her ability to perform as a capable generalist through its appreciable overall stat boost; it also has the advantage of increasing her likelihood of receiving a greater defensive boost from Eldhrímnir.

    • Do note, however, that utilizing Fury will cause her to be considerably more selective in choosing her match-ups should she have no form of healing support available, as its recoil damage can potentially drop her below Special Fighter’s HP threshold.

  • At the cost of lowering her already middling base Attack stat slightly, Fort. Def/Res is a formidable option to grant her a massive boost to her overall bulk, in addition to letting her make more reliable use of her personal weapon.

  • On a budget, Picnic Felicia’s native Spd/Def Bond can be kept to further build upon two of her key stats, however, it does necessitate that she have an adjacent ally in order to be active.

Passive B: Special Fighter

  • Picnic Felicia’s native Special Fighter is an immensely powerful skill that enables her to effectively control the course of any given battle through its fantastic mix of offensive and defensive utility, combining the increased Special charge effect of Breath skills and Special deceleration properties of Guard all in one.

  • With proper usage, Special Fighter can go an extremely long way in circumventing her otherwise unimpressive damage output through quick Special activations while also complementing her inherent strengths perfectly, making it an arguably irreplaceable aspect of this build -- and fortunately enough, she comes with it right out of the box in her default kit.

Passive C: Armor March / Even Spd Wave / Odd Res Wave / Close Guard / Flexible

  • Armor March (as well as class-exclusive skills like Ward Armor) make for an obvious choice of C slot skill when utilizing her alongside other armored units to mutually enhance their individual performances substantially.

  • If aiming to strengthen her ability to perform as a capable standalone unit, Wave skills such as Even Spd Wave and Odd Res Wave are great alternatives, providing her with a tremendous +6 buff to a chosen stat on odd or even-numbered turns.

  • Otherwise, similarly to many other units, Spring Felicia’s C slot is flexible and is open to any skill that best suits the rest of her team’s needs. Her native Close Guard is a particularly strong option to augment her allies’ resilience against incoming attacks from melee foes.

Sacred Seal: Atk/Spd Bond / Quick Riposte / Darting Stance

  • Atk/Spd Bond is a stellar choice of seal to elevate her raw damage output and proficiency at both performing and denying follow-up attacks significantly, requiring only that she have an adjacent ally in order to benefits from the skill’s formidable offensive boost.

  • Although Picnic Felicia is not reliant upon the use of Quick Riposte to perform follow-up attacks whatsoever, it nonetheless remains a strong option for her seal to break through the effects of skills like Wary Fighter and Sturdy Impact that would otherwise prevent her from functioning properly.

  • If neither of the aforementioned are available, Darting Stance can be taken to similarly improve her combat prowess in the Enemy Phase and secure follow-up attacks against opponents who would force a speed-tie.

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +ATK or +SPD / -HP

Although Picnic Felicia can easily accumulate enough Speed such that skills such as Bold Fighter are typically unnecessary, she can still make good use of a standard mixed phase set-up to gain the ability to break through Wary Fighter and other similar skills that would have otherwise prevented her from performing a follow-up entirely; this also lets her focus strictly on maximizing her damage output. Accordingly, an Attack Asset makes for her best choice of IVs here, however, one still has the option of increasing her Speed stat instead to provide her with an additional boost to her survivability.

Weapon: Eldhrímnir

Assist: Swap / Flexible

Special: Iceberg / Luna / Aether

  • Specials with a three-turn cooldown are Picnic Felicia’s most effective options with this build thanks to their strong synergy with Bold Fighter — provided that she initiates combat and that her opponent can counterattack, these Specials will be able to activate in each round of combat in the Player Phase, granting her considerable offensive power.

    • Keep in mind that such Specials will not activate in the Enemy Phase even with the use of the Quick Riposte seal unless she is doubled by her opponent, however, given her statline’s and PRF’s strong focus on her Speed stat, this is unlikely to happen outside of certain scenarios in which her foe can force follow-up attacks through their weapon or skills.

  • Iceberg will typically be her most consistent option in this regard, offering her an appreciable +17 damage boost each time upon activation if assuming neutral Resistance, though Luna also makes for a worthwhile consideration to bolster her damage output against particularly bulky foes who she would otherwise struggle to dent.

  • If making use of a Breath skill, Aether becomes a much more attractive option to grant her greater longevity through its effect of simultaneous healing and damage output increase.

Passive A: Distant Counter / Breath Skill / Steady Stance 4 / Fury / Spd/Def Bond

  • Distant Counter is once again a standout candidate for her A slot to capitalize on her excellent versatility and allow her to shut down a wide variety of different threats.

  • Alternatively, one can take a Breath skill as her chosen A slot skill to provide her with accelerated Special cooldown and improve her combat prowess in the Enemy Phase greatly. In particular, this pairs particularly well with Aether to enhance her markedly solid survivability even further.

  • Steady Stance 4 is a stellar option that allows Picnic Felicia to more adequately take up the mantle of a defensive tank, offering her a massive +8 boost to her Defense stat in the Enemy Phase in addition to a Guard-like effect of Special deceleration with no accompanying HP threshold -- this is especially beneficial when facing off against other units who rely on quick Special activations to deal significant amounts of damage.

  • Fury (3 or 4) and her native Spd/Def Bond remain good options for those on a budget or who wish to invest as minimally as possible in the clumsy maid.

Passive B: Bold Fighter

  • Since Bold Fighter guarantees her follow-up attacks upon initiating combat, Picnic Felicia can forego the need to invest in her Speed stat altogether in favor of concentrating solely on beefing up her damage output instead. Bold Fighter’s +1 Special charge per attack is immensely beneficial in this regard, allowing her to quickly activate her Special in almost every round of combat for increased offensive potential.

Passive C: Armor March / Odd Atk Wave / Odd Res Wave / Close Guard / Flexible

  • Armor March and other class-exclusive buffs are especially good options when using her alongside fellow armored units to enforce a more cohesive team composition, whereas Wave skills can be considered to make her much more self-sufficient.

  • Ultimately, though, Picnic Felicia has no real attachment to any particular C slot skill, leaving the choice of which to utilize here to be in large part dependent on personal preference.

Sacred Seal: Quick Riposte

  • The Quick Riposte seal comprises a pivotal component of this build, securing Picnic Felicia’s follow-up attack in the Enemy Phase. Combined with the effects of Bold Fighter, this ensures that she is able to perform as potent force both on the offensive and defensive.

Introduction

A character commonly known for her carefree and clumsy nature, Felicia makes her seasonal debut dressed in a disarmingly cute outfit alongside her older twin sister as they prepare to go on a picnic. Despite joining the already bloated pool of green armored units, Picnic Felicia somehow manages to distinguish herself from her competition, showcasing her own unique take on the standard formula for an armored unit.

Statwise, she’s incredibly well-rounded. Boasting fantastic mixed bulk and high Speed, Picnic Felicia is surprisingly durable and well adept at tanking damage — a characteristic that is only enhanced further via the power of her unique personal weapon, Eldhrímnir. In addition to inflicting effective damage against beast units and granting her a flat +3 Speed, Eldhrímnir allows her to inflict an in-combat Atk/Spd debuff upon her opponent based on the difference between their Resistance stats, providing her with a powerful mix of offensive and defensive utility. When combined with her complementary base stats, Picnic Felicia has the ability to perform as one of the few armored units who can fully utilize Special Fighter in both phases to attain astounding combat prowess and easily control the course of any given battle. Moreover, as an armored unit, Picnic Felicia also has access to class-exclusive buffs, further solidifying her ability to perform as a capable combatant.

Although she does have her own fair share of weaknesses, namely her poor mobility and weakness to armor-effective weaponry, these are not problems exclusive to her and are ultimately not of enough significance to detract too much from her usefulness. Overall, while not necessarily anything gamebreaking, Picnic Felicia makes for a welcome addition to the game, whose unique playstyle centered around maintaining high levels of survivability allow her to fit well into any team composition looking for a capable defensive generalist.

Strengths

Eldhrímnir

In addition to granting her a flat +3 Speed, Eldhrímnir enables Picnic Felicia to potentially benefit from a massive boost to her overall survivability and proficiency at utilizing Special Fighter, complementing her statline incredibly well. Furthermore, albeit somewhat limited in usage, Eldhrímnir’s ability to deal effective damage against beast units is a solid additional bonus that grants her a distinct niche in comparison to the rest of the cast.

Excellent Stat Spread

Picnic Felicia’s combination of high Speed and strong mixed bulk makes her exceedingly adept at trading blows with opposing foes, possessing the ability to easily take on most forms of sustained offensive pressure without sustaining heavy damage.

Armored Unit

Picnic Felicia’s status as an armored unit is vastly significant in that it allows her access to the highly coveted Fighter skills, all of which she can make great use of to elevate her overall potential substantially. Moreover, this also lets her take advantage of class-exclusive buffs and a hefty boost to her BST.

Weaknesses

Poor Mobility

Like all other armored units, Picnic Felicia suffers from limited mobility and is unable to naturally move more than one space at a time. This can prove to be a rather debilitating weakness should one be unable to provide her with the prerequisite support necessary to mediate it somewhat, detracting heavily from her overall ease of use.

Effective Damage

Picnic Felicia’s status as an armored unit also causes her to have an inherent weakness to armor-effective weaponry and will struggle immensely against foes wielding them.
