Olivia mostly desires to crush her opponents with her Armorslayer. This means her best boon boosts her otherwise middling attack stat. Olivia’s status as a Dancer makes her more flexible with IV sets, as she can do her primary job well regardless.
Boons
-
+ATK: With base 28 attack, boosting her attack is Olivia’s best choice for general combat.
-
+SPD: This lets her survive initiation from some mages such as Lute and unbuffed L’Arachel. Her second best option.
Neutral
-
HP: Olivia cuts it fine with some attacks (such as surviving Regnal Astra) so she prefers to keep her HP neutral. If you are going for Arena score, -HP is her best bane however.
-
DEF: Same as above. Olivia primarily tanks physical damage, so reducing this is not recommended.
Banes
- -RES: Easily her safest choice of bane. Olivia dies in one hit to many mages regardless, and it does not help her beat her targets of choice. However -Res gives her a reduction of four, lowering Olivia’s Arena score weight.

Her flagship set sees her equipped with abilities designed to KO common red and green armor seen within the Arena. Armorsmasher makes up for her poor base 28 attack, and with an attack boon and Fury she reaches a respectable 48. This set also maximises Olivia’s defense in order to help her survive strong attacks and one-shot builds from units such as Ayra.
Moonbow outperforms Glimmer due to Olivia’s relatively low base attack. She does not need the extra power from Glimmer to KO Armor due to a combination of Quick Riposte and Swordbreaker guaranteeing her to hit twice in combat. Her status as a Dancer means she has lower stats than most other units, making Fury a cheap and effective option to level the playing field.
With everything above, she’s capable of tanking and KO’ing nearly every red and green armor in the game, besides Brave Sword Arden. Because of this, a +Def refine is her best choice, bringing her physical bulk to 75 total and granting her a degree of relative safety on the field. Most notably, it lets Olivia tank and revenge kill Slaying Edge Ayra, an extremely dangerous Arena threat. Finally, your choice of C slot skill will be dependent on allies: Blade tome users will prefer a Hone buff, while most others want the Dual Spur.

Olivia can run an effective budget build which exacerbates her supportive potential over her combat potential. With the new refines, her default Silver Sword functions well as an all-around weapon giving her a defensive and offensive boost. Speed refine is chosen as she does not run Swordbreaker in favor of Wings of Mercy (Although Swordbreaker still works well). Geyser Dance is a more expensive option, but provides a hefty boost to allies and is great for Blade Tome users.
Just like her optimal build, Fury and Moonbow are her best bets. Fury gives her a much-needed stat boost and is her best choice even at level 2. Moonbow only just edges out Glimmer in performance with this set, but is still best.
This set leaves Olivia’s C slot and Sacred seal open to support choices. Olivia naturally comes with Hone Atk so it’s her cheapest option in her C slot. The next best stat for her to boost is speed, so Hone Spd is her best choice of Seal. However, these two skills can be tailored based on team-mates. Fortify skills are just as powerful on certain teams, so don’t be afraid to experiment in order to find the best combination.
Introduction
Olivia is a sword-wielding infantry who carves out a niche for herself as a good Red sword dancer that's easily accessible. She is one of the most widely accessible units in the entire game, being available in the free hero rotation and as a 3-4 star unit summon. For many low-paying or free players, Olivia is an easy-to-merge and effective unit making her popular in many modes.
Being a Dancer however, is not all roses. Olivia weights in at 150 BST, on average 7-12 lower than other infantry. In terms of raw combat strength she is weaker than nearly all other sword-users. Her Dance ability also uses up one of her own turns, meaning she must often choose between combat and support at any given time.
Thanks to Skill Inheritance, Olivia can be equipped with a wide variety of skills to equalise the playing field and give her a slew of useful winning matchups. She is one of the most useful and versatile units in the entire game, able to provide nearly unrivaled levels of support to allies on the field.
Strengths
Well-placed stats, despite having a lower stat total.
Olivia may have a reduced stat total, but her stats are well-distributed. 33 Speed is workable and is a great defensive speed tier. Her 28 attack is low, but reaches 34 with Fury and and attack boon. 36/27 physical defense is not great, but she gains quite a lot from her weapon refine and Fury.
Access to the versatile and powerful Dance skill.
Dance lets Olivia give any unit on her team a second turn, in exchange for her own. She can use this to double the movement of allies, let teammates retreat or most commonly grant them two attacks in one turn. It’s almost impossible to overstate it’s usefulness. Dance is also great for beating aberrant team compositions (for instance, a team of four blues can be beaten by repeatedly dancing your team’s green unit).
Relatively good matchups due to her color and weapon type.
Olivia is the only red dancer, giving her a useful and unique niche over her peers. She also has access to the Armorsmasher: most useful of the three anti-armor weapons. While they are all statistically identical, The vast majority of armor seen in the Arena is either red or green, making it the most useful. While most dancers struggle in combat, Olivia has quite a lot of winning matchups vs. common Arena threats.
Weaknesses
Reduced combat potential.
Olivia really only has one weakness, and that is reduced combat potential compared to other red units. There are many extremely powerful sword-users such as Ayra, Zelgius, Elincia and Vanguard Ike which completely eclipse Olivia’s performance with their boosted stats, legendary weapons and unique skills. Running Olivia means you forgo the chance to run one of the aforementioned units. In most cases teams can function well without Dance anyway, and will do better with a reliable red unit in her stead.
Team Options
Counters
Olivia’s optimal build makes her resilient vs. many foes. But she is still weak to many threats, such as blues with natural color advantage, and magic damage in particular.
-
Blue tanks: Corrin-F, Nowi, and Brave Lucina: They are all powerful tanks that can wall and beat Olivia. She loses to most forms of Effie and Gwendolyn, but can beat them under certain circumstances.
-
Offensive Fliers: Tana, Cordelia, Elincia, Hinoka, Est: Olivia has no chance of surviving against these units, who double her with Brave or Firesweep weapons. Elincia hits through her Swordbreaker with Amiti for the KO.
- Red and blue mages: Micaiah, Sanaki, Lilina, Tharja, Linde, Reinhardt, L’Arachel, Celica: Olivia sacrifices her resistance to maximise her other stats, leaving her weak to magic damage. She is not fast enough to avoid doubles from faster mages, and not sturdy enough to survive attacks from one-shot builds. Well-placed buffs can allow her to survive some of these units in some cases.

(Stats are +Spd, -Hp with Weapon refinement and skills applied. My take on Olivia will use these stats for review)
As a free unit from the rotation, she's one of the best ones we currently have. But within the Dancer/singer class, she's often looked down upon as unimpressive and lackluster compared to the others, but today I'm gonna do Olivia some justice, and prove the isn't just your average shy dancer.
1. Just like stated in her review up top, the utility of Dance/Sing is unmatched both on offensive and defenseve strategies, which gives the performers other qualities and roles that the other unit can't have. As such, I will continue to compare Olivia to her fellow performers since this is only fair.
2. Fun fact of the day: Olivia has the highest defense out of all of the performers currently in the game. To put this into perspective, a neutral defense Olivia still has the highest defense out of all of the performers even if they have a +def IV. Combined with her Hp, she has a total of 63 natural Physical bulk(60 with -HP), the second highest of all the performers just below Ninian(65 Physical bulk), with Fury 3, it increases to 66 and a refined weapon increases it to 71.
3. This is where I disagree with the review up top. While 26 resistance doesn't seem flattering, it's not that bad either, and it's not worth lowering with a bane. 62 magical bulk(59 with -Hp) is not that bad especially if you consider she doesn't have a paper thin defense to make up for it. Fury 3 increases it to 65, and a refined weapon increases it to 70.
4. Combining points 2 and 3, Olivia has the second best overall bulk of all the performers with a 63/62 bulk for physical and magical attacks respectively, the only performer who has higher overall bulk than her is Ninian, with 65/69 bulk respectively. Thanks to this, both dancers can perform the role of an emergency tank when needed. This is extremely effective cause with 33Spd that can be increased to 39 with the right investment(42 if +Spd) it means that the only way to knock out Olivia in one battle from full Hp is to OHKO them. And for that to happen a neutral attacker must reach at least the minimum of 63/62 Atk or 71/70Atk if Olivia has been properly invested, which no unit without advantage can reach naturally, and even then some blue units struggle to OHKO so that should tell how an impressive once person battle tank she can be for dancer, while doing consideration damage if she can retaliate. Brave Lances are threats for obvious reasons, but Brave Swords and brave bows may sometimes struggle if their attack isn't high enough to break through and all Brave Axes fail to ORKO her.
I Really hope I showed Olivia's hidden strengths today, she's not just a pretty face who can dance, but also a unit who can save your Arena run or GHB challenge with her hidden tankiness. Recommend building her to the fullest.

As a +10 4-star with Fury, Olivia has over 30 points in every stat and becomes a very strong generalist while retaining the ability to bequeath her action to an ally. Wings of Mercy, Hone Atk and Hone Spd let her buff an ally and rescue them when necessary, and she has a high combative ability with Wo Dao and Moonbow. Substitutes can be used for her B and C slots as well as her seal if a stronger offensive presence is desired, such as Wrath, Desperation, Swordbreaker, or Atk/Spd Smoke

10/10 the best meme build i have
so busted
Wraith in general is so busted O_o
Olivia literally just gets knocked down to half HP and then gets a proc towards Moonbow every turn, and then hits fools for 45-66 damage, and then doubles most of the time because of her IV's and hones.
Hectors and BIke's are toast, along with all the rest of the Greenies.
Swordbreaker is a reality check though and you should avoid units with it at all costs... you'll remember that Olivia is actually a squishy, and that you're a fraud for thinking she's your best swordie.
2.0 edit: Wo Dao+ is even more terrrrific now. HP is patched up; more speed; and now I can use Olivia as a Buffer buddy on my Arena team :D

Perfect red dancer. Wo Dao's effect paired with Moonbow turns her lackluster attack into something to be feared. Fury 3 will assist you in activating Vantage 3 allowing Olivia to bait, and safely defeat, dangerous units like Hector. Also in addition to providing dance she will serve as a powerful buffer providing Attack +4 and Defense +4 to adjacent units at the beginning of each turn.
Wo Dao (+Spd) is chosen over Wo Dao (+Def) because of Fury 3. The extra speed allows greater potential for performing double attacks and defense against double attacks from some of the fastest units. This outweighs the 4 Defense you could gain since you will essentially take that damage anyways through the 6 damage you take from Fury 3.

The point of this build is to work Olivia into a dancer that can take on Heavy Armored units, while also keeping her utility as a Dancer. Fury increases her Bulk, Wings of Mercy is great for mobility on any map to help either attack or dance an ally, C skill is up to personal preference, I chose Hone Atk 3 since she already has it, Seal is up to preference too, but I chose Close Def 3 to enhance her dueling potential. Moonbow is help cut through heavy defenses as Olivia's attack isn't that strong without an attack boon, (mine is +Spd) so she has 39 Speed with a boon and Fury, which is great defensively and offensively. Bonfire, Ignis, and Luna are also good on Olivia depending on your team, though with utilizing Fury, she will need support from the team to use the longer cooldown Specials. If you have a +Attack Olivia, Glimmer may be an option depending on your build. Anyways, thank you for reading thus far, and I hope you pull something from this!
