Complementary stats that matter, but not to the point of picking them over key stats for nature increase.

Ninian's best boon to have is Speed. A +Spd boon will put her at 36 neutral speed, which is fantastic and quite pivotal for her survivability.

Her weakest stat is Attack. It should be the most disposable stat for all Ninian's builds, due to her being a Dancer for the majority of the time instead of an attacker, and she won't do much damage even if player invest into it.

This is Ninian's best set, focusing on boosting her support capability. Your priority when using Ninian is as a Dancer, and thus offensive capabilities are not needed.

Lightning Breath allows Ninian to counter from range and is quite easily the best weapon available for Dragons, allowing her to contribute some damage to the team when attacked.

Moonbow / Luna are the best specials for low attack units, although it is worth mentioning that Lightning Breath will make them harder to proc due to the increase in charge, so Moonbow is generally preferred due to it being 2 (3 if Lightning Breath is equipped) charge.

Fury 3, Distant Def, Earth Boost or Fortress Def are all decent options to make her a bit tankier. Fury 3 is preferred due to it giving Speed, Def and Res all at once, and the chip damage from it will help you get into Escape Route's range easier.

Wings of Mercy / Escape Route are both fantastic choice for her B slot, and compliment her well. Wings of Mercy is better if the team have a lot of in-your-face melee type of characters that tend to take damage, or mages who run Desperation build like Nino or Linde. Escape Route is better if you often use Ninian to tank one or two hit for the team, and once she gets into range her reach will be better than Wings of Mercy.

Wings of Mercy however is generally the superior choice, due to it being one of the best skill to get Defense point in arena, as well as being more flexible

The last C slot should be a Hone/Fortify/Spur buff, depending on what your team is lacking. If you are running a Dragon core team instead, then Fortify Dragon is a must.

This set allows Ninian to stand on the frontline and act as a blue wall for the team while retaining her support capability, making her useful in both Player's Phase and Opponent's Phase.

Lightning Breath is required as it helps her retaliate units like Tharja, Sophia, Leo or Celica.

Triangle Adept is a must for this build, as without it she cannot tank Falchion users. It helps her tanking potential and damage output against Red units immensely, which is her main role beside Dancing with this build.

Swordbreaker ensures she win duel against every popular red swords unit, including Lucina who would normally 2hko her. Without Swordbreaker, Ninian will lose against +Speed Lucina, as she will get doubled and killed. The only reason to give up Swordbreaker is to be able to kill Tharja with Quick Riposte. If Ninian can get constant Hone/Spur Speed buffs to ensure she never get doubled against any variation of Lucina, then Quick Riposte is a good choice.

Ninian can run this set decently, thanks to her good Speed and bulk. Although not as effective as Corrin F, Ninian has the luxury of having access to Dance, meaning even in turn where she cannot debuff the enemies, she can always pass her turn to her allies.

With Dark Breath instead of Lightning Breath, Ninian can use Luna instead of Moonbow, as there is no penalty on Special's charge.

Triangle Adept allow her to safely attack into red units that do not wield Falchion, taking no damage while debuffing several units at once.

Armored Blow and Fury 3 are decent alternatives to bolster up her defensive capability, allowing her to take better hit from blue units like Ephraim, Effie or Lukas.

Seal Res/Def and Threaten Def/Res allows her to debuff 4 stats at once on an enemy, while Windsweep allow her to safely attack and debuff units that have lower speed than her including powerful green units (36 with +Spd boon) without the fear of being retaliated, notably Hector, Ephraim, Effie, Ike, Fae, Michalis, etc ...

In general, Windsweep is more valuable for her, as the ability to safely attack into low speed green units and high damage blue units is quite versatile.

Ninian is a dancer with surprisingly good bulk when compared to similar units like Azura and Olivia. Her decent speed combined with her good HP pool allow her to avoid followup attacks from units of 35-37 Speed range.

Ninian has very poor offensie capability however, spotting a pitiful 24 base attack, which pales in comparison to her direct competitor Azura. Her dragon typing also makes her weak against Falchion/Naga user, the latter being quite common in Arena due to the popularity of Julia.Her low BST will also impact arena scores compared to other Dragonstone users like Nowi or Young Tiki.

Nonetheless, Dance is a meta defining support skill that can change the flow of battle completely in one's favor and is the reason for why she is one of the best support units in the game, as she will vastly improve the performance of all of her teammates.



+/ Good HP pool:

  • Although her Defense and Resistance might be a bit middling, her HP pool is incredibly high, allowing her to tank through more damage than fellow dancer/singer

+/ Good Speed:

  • 33 Speed is a good start for a supporting character, and it helps her avoid being doubled by units like Lucina, Ryoma, Linde when on the same tier of boon/bane and buffs.

+/ Dance:

  • Dance is an immensely powerful tool in the hand of the players, capable of turning the tide of battle completely
  • It allows Ninian to always be useful, no matter the circumstances as she can pass her turn to a powerful ally.

+/ Access to Fortify Dragon naturally

  • This skill allow her to bolster her kins Defensive capability to great level.
  • It makes her the best ally to have for Dragon tanks like Nowi, Fae, Corrin F and both the Tiki



+/ Poor Attack:

  • Ninian should not be expected to be a damage dealer, as even with her 33 base speed, her base attack is too low to make use of it

+/ Weak to Falchion/Naga:

  • Being a Dragon, Ninian is completely at the mercy of Julia, and to a certain extent the Falchion users.

+/ Low Def and Resistance:

  • Even with her decent Speed and big HP pool, there is a plethora of units that can burn through it fast, especially if they can double her due to her mediocre Defense and Resistance

+/ Low Total Base Stats

  • Her low Total Base Stats mean she does not weight as much as other infantry units for Arena score
Team Options
  • Being a Dancer, Ninian is a great ally for every unit in the game, barring her fellow Dancer/Singer. However, she goes best with strong damage dealer that need her to improve their sweeping potential, mobility and survivability. Notable examples include units like Reinhardt, Linde, Nino, Tharja, Celica, Takumi, Olwen and Kagero.
  • As a Dragon Dancer with natural access to Fortify Dragon, units like Nowi, Tiki Young, Tiki Adult, Fae and Corrin F become a whole lot tankier alongside her. It is a mandatory skill for anyone using a full Dragon team, or a Triple Dragons core.
  • Julia is her biggest counter, as she takes virtually no damage from Ninian, and will 1hko her no matter the build
  • Falchion wielders like Marth, Lucina, Chrom or Alm can do severe damage to her, and Ninian has to build Triangle Adept + Swordbreaker to survive them
  • Strong green attackers, be it physical or magical, can blow through her HP fast. Units like Raven, Minerva, Titania, Hector, Nino, Soren, Cherche or Cecilia are particularly dangerous, as they pack great offensive power.
