Speed boosting natures help him avoid double attacks from units with 35 speed. Notably including Lucina, Azura, Sharena and Ryoma. Attack and resistance lowering natures are preferred as lowering either HP or Defense allows Lucina and Ryoma to score a OHKO.

Introduction

Pros:

  • High resistance
  • Powerful healing ability

Cons:

  • Critically weak attack
  • Extremely low defense
  • Pitiful attack
  • Weighted very poorly in Arena

Unlike his original appearance, Lucius is a healer in Heroes. He is a support character who brings utility to the team through his powerful healing and high resistance. Unfortunately, the advantages stop there. Although healers are not considered useful within the Arena, he can still be of some use and excels in singleplayer modes.

Strengths/Weaknesses

First and foremost, Lucius has an excellent capacity to heal. Thanks to his high resistance, he can be used on the frontlines to lure magic damage dealers into your team. His speed is high enough to avoid most double attacks, but he needs to be wary of high-speed physical units, who can double attack him on his weak defense.

While his main role is a healer, he can deal some damage if need be. Healers have their damage halved on every attack, severely limiting his already low damage. Pain alleviates this somewhat, by allowing him to deal a flat 10 damage, but rendering him unable to finish off enemies. His special is unfortunately too slow to be very useful, but can help him survive things he shouldn’t.

His viability is low thanks to his numerous weaknesses. He is extremely frail defensively, and is easily KO’d. In the Arena, he has a tiny base stat total of 147, lowering the ranking of all teams that feature him. Lucius has a very low damage output, making it hard to legitimize him over units such as Kagero, who has a higher stat total and trades healing for high ranged damage.

Team Options

Lucius’s healing best suits units such as Hector, Young Tiki and Effie. These units are frontline tanks with massive HP pools for him to top up. Effie and Hector both have powerful abilities that trigger from HP thresholds. However, he can be taken on nearly any team. Lucius is a great help when training units, and should be taken when doing missions in the Training Tower.

Counters

He is easily killed by units dealing physical damage. Kagero and Klein are perhaps his biggest threats, along with units such as Lucina, Ryoma, Eirika, Sharena, Takumi and Azura.
