Complementary stats that matter, but not to the point of picking them over key stats for nature increase.
Relatively worthless stat that can safely be decreased through nature.

Assets

  • +ATK: Lethe’s overall best choice for an Asset. Lethe’s will greatly appreciate the increase in damage potential no matter the build and helps her in utilizing Heavy Blade, one of her overall best Sacred Seal choices.

  • +SPD: Lethe has amazing Speed that can be boosted with relative ease through skills. Boosting it further with an Asset will help ensure Lethe can secure follow-ups. While Attack is more desirable, Speed is far from a bad choice of Asset and will be a strong option on most Lethe builds.

Neutral

  • DEF/RES: Lethe’s defensive capabilities are not amazing, but are workable. 26 Defense is decent and helps to keep her safe from physical threats, though her 19 Resistance is poor. Both of these stats are superflaws and are workable as Flaws, but is it recommended to keep both neutral if possible.

Flaws

  • -HP: Overall, HP is Lethe’s best Flaw. It’s her only defensive stat that isn’t a superflaw and since she will likely need to take hits from physical and magical foes alike, trying to maintain her overall bulk as much as possible is recommended.

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +ATK or +SPD / -HP

Lethe will appreciate the boost in offensive power that she will acquire from either an Attack or Speed Asset. While Asset is a preferable option, both will be excellent choices through either increased damage or increased follow-up potential. HP is the recommended Flaw, but a Flaw in Defense and Resistance can still work.

Weapon: Brazen Cat Fang

  • Regardless of whether she is transformed or not, Brazen Cat Fang will give Lethe the Atk/Spd Solo skill, increasing her offensive capabilities whenever she has no adjacent allies.

  • The cavalry beast transformation bonuses are amazing for this set. Reducing the opponent’s Atk and Def will help Lethe to deal more damage, take less damage, and activate Heavy Blade with greater frequency all in one. The denial of follow-ups also helps to keep her safe if she cannot finish off her target.

Assist: Reposition / Player Preference

Special: Galeforce

  • Galeforce allows the user to act again after combat once per turn. This is a powerful effect that comes at the cost of a lengthy cooldown of five.

  • Lethe is very capable of making use of this Special. However, she will need both Heavy Blade to activate and at least one attack from the opponent in order to fully charge it in a single round of combat.

Passive A: Atk/Spd Solo / Swift Sparrow / Fury / Life and Death / Spd/Def Solo

  • Atk/Spd Solo is Lethe’s optimal A slot choice, granting her with a large offensive boost whenever she has no adjacent allies.

  • Swift Sparrow is a cheaper alternative option, granting a lesser boost than Atk/Spd Solo but only needing Lethe to initiate combat.

  • Life and Death is a strong option, particularly for Aether Raids. The lower defenses do put her more at risk of being OHKO, but can also work as an effective method of getting her to low enough HP for allies to use Wings of Mercy. This is a common strategy with Galeforce users in Aether Raids.

  • Fury is a cheap option that boosts Lethe’s overall combat capabilities at the cost of recoil damage after combat. This recoil damage can also be utilized to help her reach the range for allies to use Wings of Mercy, similar to what is mentioned above.

  • Her default Spd/Def Solo is a great budget choice, granting her with both Speed and Defense whenever she has no adjacent allies.

Passive B: Chill Passives / Lunge / Hit and Run

  • Any Chill skill besides Chill Res will work very well with this set. Against anyone affected, Chill Spd helps Lethe to perform follow-ups, Chill Def helps Lethe to deal more damage, and Chill Atk helps Lethe to take less damage while also increasing her ability to activate Heavy Blade.

  • Lunge and Hit and Run are both also good budget choices. Lunge swaps the position of Lethe and her target after combat (this happens even if Lethe defeats her foe) while Hit and Run moves her back one space after combat.

Passive C: Smoke Passives / Savage Blow / Beast Buff / Player Preference

  • Any Smoke skill besides Res Smoke will work well in the C slot. Any of these skills will debuff opponents around Lethe’s target for their specific stats. Atk Smoke, in particular, is a strong choice as not only is it cheap to inherit but it also helps Lethe to activate Heavy Blade and helps to keep her safe on Enemy Phase.

  • Savage Blow is also an effective choice, dealing a small amount of damage to any enemy around her target.

  • If she is on a team with other beasts, then she can take a Beast buff. She comes naturally with Hone Beasts, making it the optimal choice of a Beast buff.

Sacred Seal: Heavy Blade

  • Heavy Blade is mandatory for this set to function properly. This Sacred Seal will allow Lethe to fully charge Galeforce in a single round of combat.

  • Note that this both requires Heavy Blade to activate and for the opponent to retaliate once, so it won’t allow Lethe to fully charge Galeforce against foes that cannot retaliate on her unless Galeforce already has some charge from another source, such as Ostia’s Pulse.

SP1445SHeavy Blade 3
Alternate: Brazen Atk/Def 3

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +ATK or +SPD / -HP

Once again, Lethe will most benefit from using her Asset to increase her offensive potential. Attack is good for increasing her raw damage and ability to activate Heavy Blade while Speed is good for increasing her ability to perform follow-up attacks. HP is the overall best Flaw, but a Flaw in Defense or Resistance will still be workable.

Weapon: Brazen Cat Fang

Assist: Reposition / Player Preference

Special: Moonbow / Luna

  • Moonbow is an excellent choice for this build thanks to its consistency. With Heavy Blade, Moonbow can activate every round of combat even without enemy retaliation thanks to its low cooldown of two.

  • Luna is also a strong choice. While it is more powerful than Moonbow, its cooldown of three means it requires both Heavy Blade and an enemy retaliation to fully charge in a single round of combat.

Passive A: Atk/Spd Solo / Def/Spd Solo / Swift Sparrow / Fury / Life and Death

  • Atk/Spd Solo is Lethe’s best option in the A slot. This skill grants a substantial boost to her offensive capabilities whenever she has no adjacent allies.

  • Def/Spd Solo is also a good option, granting Lethe with a large boost to Speed and Defense whenever she has no adjacent allies.

  • Swift Sparrow is another option to consider, granting a lesser offensive boost than Atk/Spd Solo whenever initiating combat. The notable benefit to Swift Sparrow over Atk/Spd Solo is that it’s much cheaper to inherit.

  • Fury is cheap to inherit and another good option. It will grant Lethe a strong all-around boost to her combat potential and the recoil damage can potentially help Lethe to more easily reach the HP threshold for Desperation.

  • Life and Death is another cheap option that gives a substantial offensive boost at the cost of defensive capabilities. This can help Lethe with reaching Desperation through the reduced defenses, but do also be careful as this makes her more at risk of being OHKO.

Passive B: Desperation / Chill Passives

  • Desperation is a strong B slot choice for this build. Whenever Lethe is under 75% HP, Desperation will allow her to make any follow-up attack immediately after her first. This will be useful to help her avoid attacks from opponents that could potentially OHKO her.

  • Any Chill skill besides Chill Res will also make for an effective choice, helping Lethe in combat against anyone affected by the debuff.

Passive C: Even Atk Wave / Even Spd Wave / Beast Buff / Player Preference

  • A Wave skill such as Even Atk Wave or Even Spd Wave will allow Lethe to buff herself every other turn without relying on her allies. This can be useful as Lethe can often be away from her team in order to attack. However, if one can confidently provide her with buffs, a Wave skill will not be necessary.

  • If she’s alongside other beasts, a Beast buff will be a great choice. She comes naturally with Hone Beasts which she can use to help any beast allies in their offensive capabilities.

Sacred Seal: Heavy Blade / Brazen Atk/Def / Atk/Spd 2

  • Heavy Blade is a fantastic choice of Sacred Seal for Lethe. The extra Special charge gained from her attacks when she has more Attack than her foe allows her to activate Moonbow and Luna with greater frequency, potentially every round of combat in the case of Moonbow.

  • Brazen skills also work really well in the Sacred Seal slot. Brazens naturally pair fantastically with Desperation due to Brazen being active whenever Desperation is. Brazen Atk/Def in particular grants Lethe with a huge Attack and Defense boost whenever below 80% HP.

  • The simple Atk/Spd 2 can also work well to give Lethe a small but notable offensive boost.

Introduction

The fan-favorite cat girl from Tellius finally makes her debut in Fire Emblem Heroes. Lethe joins the Order of Heroes as a red beast cavalry unit with a strong focus on offensive power. With the right tools in hand, Lethe can prove to be a strong and capable fighter.

Her offensive stats are strong, coming with great Attack and excellent Speed. Being a beast cavalry, she also gets to enjoy the natural transformation bonus of denying follow-ups and debuffing whoever she attacks during combat. Her personal weapon, Brazen Cat Fang, also gives her a substantial offensive boost when no allies are near her.

Lethe does have her weaknesses. While being transformed will help to keep her safe when attacking, her overall defensive capabilities are decent at best. In particular, her low Resistance makes her a relatively easy target for magical threats such as mages and dragons which will be capable of dealing substantial damage to her. Keeping her in harm's way during Enemy Phase will be a poor choice overall, especially if she’s in the range of multiple foes.

Overall, if one ensures to play to her strengths, Lethe will be exceptional. Her high offensive stats, strong personal weapon, and cavalry beast transformation bonuses make her a formidable fighter when she’s the one making the attack. As long as one can ensure she’s not in danger on Enemy Phase, Lethe will show the opposition the true wrath of the beast tribe.

Strengths

Brazen Cat Fang

Lethe’s personal weapon, Brazen Cat Fang, is a powerful offensive tool and Lethe’s biggest strength. Regardless of whether or not Lethe is transformed, this weapon grants her with three Speed and the Atk/Spd Solo skill, increasing her Attack and Speed by six whenever she has no adjacent allies. Given that Atk/Spd Solo is an amazing skill for offensive heroes, this is an amazing bonus for Lethe to receive.

On top of this, Brazen Cat Fang also provides Lethe will the typical cavalry beast transformation bonus. When initiating combat while transformed, Lethe will debuff whoever she is attacking for four Attack and Speed as well as preventing them from performing a follow-up attack. This is a strong bonus that not only increases Lethe’s damage output but also makes it harder for her to be defeated while attacking.

Great Offensive Stats

Lethe’s 33/38 offensive statline is strong and is a part of what makes her so good. 38 Speed, in particular, backed up by the natural Speed boost she gains from her weapon, makes her very capable of performing consistent follow-up attacks. 33 Attack is also solid and will help her to deal good damage.

Three Movement

Besides the beast cavalry transformation bonus, cavalry also has the natural benefit of three movement. For any offensive-oriented hero, having greater mobility is a strong bonus and gives her greater flexibility with how she chooses to make her approach.

Weaknesses

Poor Enemy Phase Capabilities

Lethe is not a unit designed to be used defensively which can be seen when looking at her defensive stats. Not only does the beast cavalry transformation bonus not activate on Enemy Phase, but she also comes with lackluster defensive stats. While 41 HP and 26 Defense is actually fairly decent and allows her to take a couple of physical hits, her poor 19 Resistance means magical foes will deal great damage to her.

Overall, while Lethe is capable of taking a hit or two thanks to her good HP, she will quickly fall if left in the range of multiple foes. If possible, Lethe should avoid having to fight several enemies on Enemy Phase.

Cavalry Weaknesses

Being a cavalry unit comes with two main weaknesses. First, cavalry is the movement type most hindered by terrain, being the only movement type that is both slowed down by trenches and are incapable of passing through forest tiles without an ally using a skill such as Reposition to get them over. Depending on the map, this can significantly hinder Lethe’s potential. Also, weapons which deal effective damage against cavalry are quite common in modes such as Aether Raids, so Lethe will need to take caution when enemies with weapons like these are present.
