Boon
-
+SPD: Legault’s best boon. With +SPD , the Hurricane can reach an impressive base 41 Speed, allowing him to easily surpass 50 after skills. This blistering Speed allows Legault to guarantee follow-up attacks when initiating combat and avoid enemy follow-ups.
-
+ATK: +ATK supports Legault’s spectacular Speed stat nicely, as boosting his Attack will greatly improve Legault’s offensive prowess. Though not quite as much of an improvement as a Speed boon, an extra 3 Attack grants Legault a respectable offensive spread of 34/38.
Neutral
-
HP: HP is a reasonably useful stat on Legault, with base 39 allowing him to soak single attacks. The main reason to avoid a bane here is because Legault loses four points of HP instead of the usual three.
-
DEF: His Defense is best kept neutral, as Legault sports a decent enough base 24.
Bane
- -RES: Resistance is Legault’s “dump stat” and is the best choice for a bane.

This build aims to make Legault as effective as possible as an offensive hero, relying on damage from Moonbow to KO enemy heroes. With this complete build, Legault wields an impressive 50/47 in Attack and Speed when initiating combat, and an extra +6 Attack on odd-numbered turns. This is before considering the added damage from his Special skills.
The Lethal Carrot provides an additional +10 damage on Special, which plays an integral role in securing KOs against bulkier heroes, or those with just enough Speed to avoid follow-up attacks. Moonbow offers respectable damage on a short cooldown, allowing Legault to cycle through his Special skill quickly and maximize his damage output. Desperation allows Legault to avoid retaliation, though be warned that it may be difficult to have him reach this threshold without Ardent Sacrifice.
Wave skills are an expensive investment, but either Odd Atk Wave or Even Spd Wave would be Legault’s best C slot skill. Atk Tactic is still a great choice and is much more readily available, though will find no value on some teams. In these instances, the C slot is flexible. Attack +3 improves Legault’s offenses.

The Cleaner is something of a niche weapon, as it only really performs well against heroes with class buffs. With that said, this weapon will circumvent defensive buffs with ease and demolish any enemy hero that has excessive buffs and cannot avoid Legault’s follow-up attacks. Barb Shuriken is a fine replacement for those looking for something a little more reliable and more accessible than the Lethal Carrot.
Swift Sparrow ensures that Legault is more effective in this role, though Fury is a passable alternative. Desperation is self-explanatory, whereas Odd Atk Wave is an expensive, but strong choice to improve Legault’s damage output. Atk Tactic is a serviceable alternative if it suits the team, otherwise this skill is flexible.
Introduction
Legault: The Hurricane is the fastest dagger user in the game as of the time of his release and also boasts a decent 31 Attack. This makes him a prime candidate for an offensive dagger user, as his high Speed allows Legault to ensure follow-up attacks and deal high burst damage through his Specials. Though he faces heavy competition from other dagger users with similar stat-lines, Legault can be a great choice for a ranged damage dealer.
Legault also has the advantage of possessing The Cleaner in his base skillset. This dagger adds the value of total bonuses from the enemy hero to Legault’s damage dealt, which greatly improves his KO potential against enemies that have been buffed. This makes Legault a reasonably strong counter to heroes with class buffs.
With that said, Legault is very frail, as to be expected from a thief. His HP is decent, but 24 Defense is mediocre at best, and 19 Resistance leaves a lot to be desired. Legault will be often survive a single attack, but any additional attacks will KO him with ease.
“My oh my... Fools aplenty. That includes me, too.”
Legault, Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade
Strengths
Impressive offensive stats
31/38 Attack and Speed is great and allows Legault to make consistent follow-up attacks with reasonable damage. Legault’s high Speed makes him a stellar offensive hero, with great dueling potential and a high ease of use with skills like Windsweep. 31 Attack, while not as good, is easily improved by skills and a range of daggers.
The Cleaner
The Cleaner is a new 12 might dagger that adds the total bonuses on a target foe to Legault’s Attack. This weapon should not be confused with the effect found on Blade tomes, as The Cleaner can be highly effective if Legault is faced with heavily buffed opponents. However, this weapon is still heavily countered by the Dull Ranged skill. Though this can be inherited by other heroes, Legault has the advantage of possessing this weapon in his base kit.
Access to powerful effective damage weapons
As a dagger wielder, Legault has access to a huge repertoire of effective damage dealing weapons, including the Poison Dagger and Kitty Paddle. This makes Legault an adaptable hero that can flesh out a team missing a counter for these types of hero.
Weaknesses
Reliant on buffs or Specials
31 Attack is by no means bad, but as a dagger hero, most of Legault’s KO potential will come from the added damage from The Cleaner or Special skills. Legault can still debuff enemy heroes while waiting for these conditions however.
Poor Resistance
Resistance is Legault’s greatest shortcoming: 19 base Resistance leaves him vulnerable to any mage that can ensure an attack against him, especially those with a tendency to run hyper-offensive builds like Ishtar, Olwen (WT), and Linde.
Team Options
Counters
Legault suffers the most against dragon heroes who can often retaliate at range as well as target his poor base 19 Resistance. Raven mages, while uncommon, will also tear through Legault with ease, and any other mage that can circumvent Legault’s Speed or overwhelm him with high Attack represent his greatest counters.
-
Dragons: Nowi, Corrin (F), and Adult Tiki can exploit Legault’s low Resistance to deal considerable damage. Legault struggles to engage against these heroes thanks to their ability to retaliate from 1-2 range, forcing him to leave these heroes to his teammates.
-
Raven mages: Robin (M), Robin (F), Lyon, and other common Raven tome wielders can dismantle Legault with ease.
- Strong mages: Reinhardt, Ishtar, Lyn (LA), Olwen (WT), Lilina, Sanaki, and other mages with high offensive power can all KO Legault.

Been a while since I built a colorless unit, with only 4 total and the one dagger I have (Sakunya) being -atk. Luckily, local Leg Man™ Legault isn't one to disappoint with absolutely insane speed and passable atk for a dagger unit. The best way to patch up a lowish atk stat is through special spamming, and with his high spd, the new Flashing Blade seal was practically made for him. With Barb letting him proc Luna every round, unless someone trumps that 49 unbuffed speed (likely WITH buffs), which lets him cut through sturdy defensive walls.
Life and Death-peration is of course the tried and true combo for glass cannons that don't care to play it safe, but if you want to use Swift Sparrow go on ahead.
Atk Tactic can be replaced with Spd or Atk smoke but isn't overly necessary, and Draw Back is taken over Repo because it is more plentiful and I prefer it on squishy units usually.
Worth noting that he can run this set with Moonbow and The Cleaner if desired, or he can keep the Barb but use Moonbow and Atk+3 seal for more damage outside of special procs.

A solid Legault build I have been running since his release. Speed Boon + Speed refine on The Cleaner + Summoner Support makes the speed bonus from Swift Sparrow less necessary, so I run Death Blow to ensure one round KOs. Rest of the build is standard for a sweeper dagger unit. I would swap his C skill to Atk Tactic +3 if I was running a Tactics team. Alternatively, one can run a Flashing Blade seal and a different special like Luna or Astra if you want a more special-focused Legault.

This build is centered around Legault's Weapon and the smoke skills when adding all on them together hitting your opponent for a -7 on every stat after combat. I am sure if his weapon synergizes well with Dull Ranged, but this could possibly be subbed out for a wind or water sweep to avoid being hit prior to the debuffs. His A slot is flexible, I went with Swift strike simply because it was in his standard kid and it cost alot of SP for his B and C.

Love me a +HP unit am I right????
Support for Dagger Emblem when and if I can get my team ready-
Attack Tactic will be great for my +5 Jakob //thumbs up depending on team comp of course RIP
Honestly, on his own his attack is too low to do much damage if he's not supported, can be used to debuff and support though. Plus his high HP can allow him to tank 1 or maybe 2 hits depending on who attacks him.

Pretty self-explanatory.
Spd+ on weapon since Atk+ IV.
With the smokes, that's -7 to all four stats.
Gunthra wants to marry him.
Alternative C-slot is Even Speed Wave. He's strongest on turn two, at least on offense. Stick with smoke for defense.
