Assets

  • +ATK: An asset in Attack is hugely beneficial to almost any unit with Idunn being no exception, as it will increase her damage output in both Player and Enemy Phase. This works particularly well with Idunn’s unique weapon thanks to its armor-effectiveness.

  • +DEF/RES: Idunn’s exceptional overall bulk make both Defense and Resistance fantastic choices of assets to take in order to further boost her survivability. In addition to this, an asset in either of these grants a stat boost of +4 rather than the standard +3.

Neutral

  • HP: While there is no reason to raise Idunn’s HP, it’s preferable to avoid a flaw in it as well. As such, Idunn prefers to keep her HP neutral in order to keep her overall bulk intact.

Flaws

  • -SPD: Being Idunn’s weakest stat, Speed is the most preferable flaw that she can take and the least detrimental to her overall performance.

This build will take advantage of Idunn’s status as both an armored unit and a dragon in order to become an extremely powerful combatant in both Player and Enemy Phase. For her IVs, Idunn appreciates assets in key stats such as Attack, Defense, and Resistance. An Attack asset makes for a especially strong option thanks to her unique weapon granting effective damage against armored units while an asset in Defense increases her survivability against physical opponents as well as adding to the effectiveness of Defense-scaling Specials. For the Special itself, Bonfire is both consistent and incredibly powerful thanks to Idunn’s colossal Defense.

Distant Counter is a highly coveted skill for Idunn. In addition to allowing her to retaliate against ranged opponents, it lets her make full use of her exceptional mixed bulk as well as the adaptive damage of her weapon. However; should one choose to focus on melee matchups, both Breath Skills and Steady Stance make for suitable alternatives. Breath skills provide a notable stat boost (depending on the skill) and cooldown acceleration while Steady Stance grants a massive Defense boost as well as the effect of Guard when initiated on.

Bold Fighter is an incredibly powerful skill and essential in giving Idunn a strong Player Phase presence. Not only does it guarantee her follow-up attack on initiation, but the Special cooldown acceleration it provides also allows Idunn to potentially activate her Special every single round of combat. Idunn’s solid Attack combined with her weapon’s armor effectiveness, ability to hit for magical damage, and the activation of Bonfire allow her to take down almost any opponent she enters combat with.

Due to armored units being naturally restricted to one movement, it can be somewhat tricky to get Idunn into a position where she can initiate on her opponent. It is highly recommended that she or a teammate run the skill Armor March so that she has the movement to effectively utilize Bold Fighter. When run alongside other armored units, class-exclusive buffs such as Ward Armor also make for a suitable option by allowing Idunn to benefit her allies. Otherwise, the C skill can be replaced as needed to suit the team.

Finally, the Quick Riposte Sacred Seal is key is maximizing Idunn’s Enemy Phase potential by guaranteeing her follow-up attack when initiated on.

  • Special: Bonfire / Aether

  • Passive A: Distant Counter

  • Passive B: Vengeful Fighter

  • Passive C: Atk Smoke / Res Smoke / Ward Armor / Flexible

  • Sacred Seal: Distant Def / Close Def / Atk/Def Bond / Atk Smoke

This set focuses exclusively on Idunn’s combat in the Enemy Phase. In addition to Attack and Defense, Resistance also makes for a suitable choice of asset in order to strengthen Idunn’s magical bulk. For her Special, Bonfire remains a great option for dealing consistently high damage. Alternatively, one can also choose to run the skill Aether. Although this comes at the cost of a longer cooldown as well as a takeaway from her damage output, Aether can increase Idunn’s overall survivability through its healing aspect.

Distant Counter remains a pivotal skill, as Idunn needs it to retaliate against ranged opponents while making effective use of her weapon’s adaptive damage. Not only does Vengeful Fighter guarantee Idunn’s follow-up Attack in the Enemy Phase, but it also has the additional benefit of Special cooldown acceleration, allowing Idunn to activate Bonfire every single round of combat. This keeps Idunn’s A slot open for Distant Counter without the need to forego damage.

Smoke skills are a great choice for Idunn as a standalone unit. By reducing the damage and/or magical bulk of opponents around her after combat, any affected targets that initiate on her afterward will deal even less damage or get hit even harder. Ward Armor remains a great team-synergetic by allowing Idunn to be a benefactor when run alongside other armors.

Last but not least, both the Distant Def and Close Def Sacred Seals compliment this Enemy Phase-oriented playstyle perfectly by reducing damage taken from ranged and melee opponents respectively when initiated on. Similarly, Atk/Def bond also fits this by granting +5 to Attack and Defense and adjacent to an ally. Finally, any Smoke skill not used in the C slot makes for a great choice of Sacred Seal.

Introduction

With a whopping 179 BST, Idunn continues the tradition of dragons having an overabundance of stats. With a solid value in Attack and exceptional values in both Defense and Resistance, Idunn can dish out heavy damage while being an incredible tank against both physical and magical damage alike. Furthermore, Idunn’s status as an armored unit grants her access to powerful skills such as Bold Fighter and Vengeful Fighter along with armor-exclusive buffs.

Idunn’s unique weapon, Demonic Breath, brings a lot to the table. Any time Idunn is hit with a negative status effect (including stat debuffs, Gravity, Flash...etc), or she is below full HP, all penalties to stats are neutralized and Idunn receives +4 to all stats during combat. In addition to this, the weapon also provides a passive +3 boost to Idunn’s already extraordinary Defense and deals effective damage against armored opponents.

However, while Demonic Breath neutralizes debuffs received targeted towards stats, it does not remove the effects of things such as Gravity or Flash. Idunn’s relatively low Speed can also make her highly susceptible to getting doubled by many fast opponents, greatly increasing the amount of damage she takes. While her status as both an armored unit and a dragon come with many benefits, they also leave her weak to the many weapons that deal effective damage against either unit type.

Despite this, Idunn is an incredibly strong unit overall with a well-distributed statline and a weapon that both eliminates weaknesses and allows her to cover many bases at once.

Strengths

Extraordinary Mixed Bulk

With 84 physical and 79 magical bulk at base and both Defense and Resistance having a superasset, Idunn can easily take hits from both physical and magical opponents as well as making effective use of Specials such as Bonfire.

Armored

Being an armored unit comes with several benefits. These include having a much higher BST compared to other class types, access to class-exclusive skills such as Bold Fighter, and the ability to receive powerful buffs from armored teammates such as Hone Armor and Ward Armor

Dragon

In addition to coming with their own class-exclusive buffs, dragons have the benefit of hitting melee units for Resistance and ranged unit for the lower of their two defensive stats.

Demonic Breath

On top of further boosting Defense by 3 and dealing effective damage against armored units, Demonic Breath neutralizes stat debuffs and grants +4 to all stats during combat when hit with a negative status effect or under 100% HP.

Weaknesses

Low Speed

Idunn’s low Speed makes her susceptible to getting doubled by many opponents, greatly increasing the amount of damage she takes as well as allowing her opponent to charge their Special.

Extremely Vulnerable to Effective Damage

Due to being both an armored unit and a dragon, Idunn will take significantly more damage from the many weapons that are effective against either unit type.

Poor Mobility

Idunn’s class type limits her movement to only one tile. This makes her reliant on assist skills such as Pivot or team support through the use of Armor March to quickly move across the map.
