IV Sets
Key stats worth increasing through nature if possible.
Complementary stats that matter, but not to the point of picking them over key stats for nature increase.
Relatively worthless stat that can safely be decreased through nature.
HPATKSPDDEFRES

Attack is preferred over speed due to Hinoka's Brave Lance. Defense is the ideal lowered stat as this is patched up by Hinoka's Defiant Def.

Skill Sets
Fury-breaker Build
Brave Lance+ A Fury 3
Pivot B Lancebreaker 3
Draconic Aura C Hone Spd 2

SP Cost1,300

Fury gives Hinoka a nice boost to all of her stats, making it a strong choice for an A slot skill. Lancebreaker works well with this as the extra stats from Fury allow Hinoka to ORKO Sharena, Catria and Ephraim. Swordbreaker is not recommended as Hinoka can already ORKO most sword-users thanks to her triangle advantage and the Brave Lance+. Draconic Aura is preferred over Blazing Wind for the shorter charge time, and Hone Spd 2 will do fine for her C skill, though this and the support skill are flexible.

Flier Emblem
Brave Lance+ A Fury 3
Pivot B Drag Back
Draconic Aura C Hone Fliers

SP Cost1,425

This set is recommended on a team of four flying units, as Hinoka's Hone Fliers skill makes her a must-have addition to this team. The build is largely similar to the above build, but Drag Back allows Hinoka to retreat out of enemy attack ranges and land adjacent to her teammates after attack. This can be replaced with Lancebreaker however. Draconic Aura is recommended once again, whereas Hone Fliers on her C slot is a must.

Introduction

Pros:

  • Good mobility
  • Good attack
  • Fantastic special skill
  • Great versus sword-wielding lords

Cons:

  • Extremely weak to archers
  • Lacklustre defense and resistance
  • Long skill charge time

Hinoka is a flying unit with mediocre speed and defensive stats, but strong attack and a powerful special skill. Hinoka excels at taking out red infantry thanks to her respectable attack and her Brave Lance+, but a low speed stat leaves her vulnerable to counterattacks. Though strong, Hinoka is something of a one-trick pony that may struggle without support from the rest of the team.

    Strengths/Weaknesses

Having a Brave Lance+ allows her to duel enemy units reasonably well, especially sword-wielding lords that she possesses a triangle advantage over: provided she initiates the attack, she should be able to take out units such as Ryoma, Lyn and Lucina. With Hinoka's extra mobility as a flier, she is useful for finishing off weakened enemies and assisting allied units around choke-points from impassable terrain. Your priority should be charging up Blazing Wind to deal heavy damage to any remaining enemy units with its AoE effect. Defiant Def gives Hinoka some much needed survivability when she falls below half health, but it may be too little too late in some cases. On the other hand, Hone Spd can be used to prevent follow-up attacks on bulky allies such as Tiki (Y) and Nowi, or to ensure that allies such as Ryoma or Takumi can make follow-up attacks themselves. Hone Fliers has little use outside of specialist teams.

Like all fliers, Hinoka must be very wary of archers like Takumi and Jeorge. In addition, Hinoka has somewhat lower defensive stats than similar units such as Camilla or Catria. Hinoka's low speed leaves her vulnerable to be taken out by both green and blue units however, as most threats will be able to make follow-up attacks against her.

    Team Options

Hinoka wants to stay alive as long as possible to ensure that she has enough time to charge Blazing Wind. This makes units with movement-based support skills useful partners, so consider deploying units such as Nino, Azura or Olivia alongside Hinoka.

    Counters

Hinoka will be completely walled by Hector unless she has charged Blazing Wind, whereas other green units such as Camilla and Nino will be able to take Hinoka down with their follow-up attacks. And as is always the case with fliers, the notorious Takumi remains a decisive counter, though she will be able to take him out if she initiates combat.
