Key stats worth increasing through nature if possible.
Complementary stats that matter, but not to the point of picking them over key stats for nature increase.
Relatively worthless stat that can safely be decreased through nature.

Although ATK is said to be his best boon, his other stats are also worth looking at depending on preferences. Try to avoid a Henry with -ATK if possible. Note that although his HP is the most disposable stat, he gains 4HP rather than 3 when he is +HP.

Skill Sets
Halloween Hero (Defensive Generalist)
Optimal
Gronnowl+ A Close Counter
Budget: Fury 3
Swap B Quick Riposte 3
Budget: G Tomebreaker 3
Iceberg C Armor March 3
SP2,025SAtk Ploy 3

Show Explanation/Analysis
  • Preferred nature: +ATK/-HP
  • Weapon: Gronnowl+
  • Assist: Swap / Reposition
  • Special: Iceberg/Glacies
  • A slot: Close Counter / Fury 3
  • B slot: Quick Riposte 3/Wary Fighter 3/Vantage 3
  • C slot: Armor March 3
  • Seal: Atk Ploy 3/ Atk Smoke 3

Henry has very good resistance and decent enough defenses to run an Owl build very well. Coupled with Spur Seals and Armour Buffs, Henry can output ridiculous amounts of power. Close Counter enables Henry to service as an all-rounded enemy phase unit, while Fury functions as a pure stat steroid.

Quick Riposte helps ensure he doubles the fastest of mages and speed mages will find it difficult to hit him twice over the owl boosts.

Creeping Mist (Defensive Utility)
Spectral Tome+ A Fury 3
Swap B Windsweep 3
Budget: Wary Fighter 3
Iceberg C Armor March 3
SP1,290SAtk Smoke 3

Show Explanation/Analysis
  • Preferred nature: +SPD/-HP
  • Weapon: Spectral Tome+
  • Assist: Swap / Reposition
  • Special: Iceberg/Glacies
  • A slot: Fury 3
  • B slot: Windsweep 3/Wary Fighter 3
  • C slot: Armor March 3
  • Seal: Atk Smoke 3 / Atk Ploy 3

This build is meant to purely throw people off with a variety of debuffs (Panic effect of Spectral Tome and the Atk Smoke effect from the seal). It is ideal to have a teammate with a speed buff to ensure Henry activates his Windsweep.

Fiendish Crow (Specialized Raven)
Gronnraven+ A Distant Def 3
Budget: Triangle Adept 3
Swap B Quick Riposte 3
Budget: G Tomebreaker 3
Iceberg C Armor March 3
SP1,760SDistant Def 3

Show Explanation/Analysis
  • Preferred nature: +DEF/-HP
  • Weapon: Gronnraven+
  • Assist: Swap / Reposition
  • Special: Iceberg/Glacies
  • A slot: Distant Def 3/ Triangle Adept 3/ Fury 3
  • B slot: Quick Riposte 3 / Wary Fighter 3 / G Tomebreaker 3
  • C slot: Armor March 3
  • Seal: Distant Def 3 / Atk Smoke 3

Self-explanatory Raven set. Checks blue mages and archers. Henry can choose not to run Triangle Adept due to his relatively balanced mixed defenses, meaning he won't be as vulnerable to Cancel Affinity. This could also be further supplemented by armor wards and fortify.

Sneak Attack! (Offensive Nuke)
Gronnblade+ A Close Counter
Budget: Fury 3
Swap B Quick Riposte 3
Budget: Vantage 3
Iceberg C Armor March 3
SP1,950SAttack +3

Show Explanation/Analysis
  • Preferred nature: +ATK/-HP
  • Weapon: Gronnblade+
  • Assist: Swap / Reposition
  • Special: Iceberg/Glacies
  • A slot: Close Counter/ Fury 3/ Life and Death 3/ Swift Sparrow 2
  • B slot: Quick Riposte 3 / Vantage 3
  • C slot: Armor March 3
  • Seal: Attack +3

A typical Blade Tome set that specifically tries to burst attackers down in a single exchange. Armor buffs are as potent as their Cavalry and Flier counterparts, making a Blade Tome based strategy relatively viable. Henry's Armor March also allow Henry to be slightly more proactive in his player phase, while utilizing skills such as Quick Riposte or Vantage to be a juggernaut in the enemy phase.

The selection of A passive depends on the play style. In order to utilise Henry's relative balanced defensive stats, Close Counter is a good choice to further enhance his enemy phase play-style. The typical trio of offensive skills can also work for Henry to make him a typical Blade Tome nuker.

Introduction

Halloween Henry is the first armored mage in the game. Unlike the original version, he is no longer a physical beefy mage and is now a more conventional magical mage with high resistance and commendable speed. He also has rather considerable stat boosts despite being a ranged unit. As a result, Henry's physical bulk is not terrible and his HP is his only unremarkable stat.

Strengths
  • Armored Mage. He can leverage many powerful tools as a tome user. As armor units also have their exclusive buffs similar to Cavalry and Fliers, Halloween Henry can utilize these buffs to their maximum potential.
  • Very good offensive spread of 33 ATK and 34 SPD. Can actually be used offensively with high levels of success.
  • Excellent RES of 36. Eats mages for breakfast.
  • Decent 26 DEF, can take a couple of hits here and there.
Weaknesses
  • Without Armor March, he is limited to 1-movement as an Armor unit.
  • Speed is not high enough to defend against speed based heroes such as Nino and Celica with Ragnarok.
  • Low HP means susceptibility to Panic Ploy and somewhat undermines his physical bulk.
Team Options

Halloween Henry shines the most with armored minions tagging along. Owl and Raven tomes prefer Goad and Ward, while Blade tomes prefer Hone and Fortify. It is also worth considering bringing a flier to provide Guidance support.

Counters

Aside from the obvious Armorslayer, Henry can be easily neutralized by physical units, particularly the distant counter ones such as Ryoma, Ike and Black Knight. He is also generally weak to physical units, meaning susceptibility to archers such as Brave Lyn and Bridal Cordelia (should you choose not to run a Raven tome). However, with adequate support from his armor buddies, Henry can stand up to archers.
