Celica's strongest sets feature Attack or Speed boons. These give her the power to cut through foes and win Speed matchups. Celica typically does not need to run Swordbreaker, due to having high speed and Chilling Speed. Her physical defenses are required to be neutral for some matchups, leaving Resistance as her only safe bane.
Boons
-
+ATK: Attack is tied with Speed for being Celica's best boon. With Beloved Zofia, she is capable of KO'ing Zelgius in one round. She should pick Speed +3 for her Seal slot if running an Attack boon.
-
+SPD: Equally as good as Attack. She needs 41 base Speed to guarantee doubles on Mia and Ayra. She should pick Attack +3 for her Seal slot if running a Speed boon.
Neutral
-
HP: This is her best defensive stat, helping her to tank damage. Leaving this at neutral lets Celica win the matchup against Ryoma and (LA) Hector.
-
DEF: If she runs Fury, Celica can stack up to 37 Defense with Beloved Zofia, making her a respectable tank and capable of taking powerful attacks such as Regnal Astra. Leaving this at neutral lets Celica win the matchup against Ryoma and (LA) Hector.
Banes
-
-RES: Celica is not a mage killer, and is capable of beating red and green dragons without Resistance. She can safely reduce this without hurting her combat potential.

Celica's optimal set assumes no support from team-mates, and is designed to give Celica the best chance at KO'ing two foes despite her Beloved Zofia's effect only working at full HP. She works best when initiating combat, but works well on the defensive in some situations and can either role as necessary.
Fury is preferred here over Swift Sparrow, as Celica makes good use of the extra Defense. With Fury she can tank Regnal Astra and beat Ayra, a common and important matchup. Her choice of Attack +3 or Speed +3 is entirely dependent on her boon. Take Attack +3 if you have a Speed boon, and vice versa. (If you aren't sure, just take Attack +3).
Draconic Aura is extremely powerful and will likely charge the turn after Celica's first round of combat. With it, she can annihilate a second foe after beating the first with Beloved Zofia's effect. Moonbow also works well and is preferred if you only want Celica to beat one enemy.
Reciprocal Aid can help Celica get another lease on life and gain back her Beloved Zofia passive. Otherwise, Reposition is best for helping slow-moving allies traverse the field. Finally her choice of C slot is dependent on allies: Tanks prefer the defensive boost, while offensive units would rather their Attack increased.

Passive B: Renewal / Quick Riposte

Passive C: Spur Def/Res / Hone Atk
- Sacred Seal: Quick Riposte / Quickened Pulse
Since Beloved Zofia's effect works only when at full HP, an effective tank set can be run which is designed to keep her at full HP and slay foes. Renewal is perhaps the most obvious choice for keeping her health high. She needs to run Quick Riposte somewhere on the build, either in B slot or her Seal slot. If she chooses her B slot, she has the option of running Quickened Pulse to hasten Aether's cooldown.
Aether is the best choice of Special, but Sol can work well and is a good budget choice. Steady Breath or Warding Breath are very important for cutting down her Special cooldown, but Heavy Blade can work too. Unfortunately, there isn't many good budget choices for her A slot skill.
Reposition and Swap are both good choices for her Assist skill and the choice comes down to personal preference. Again her choice of C slot is dependent on allies: Tanks prefer the defensive boost, while offensive units would rather their Attack increased.
Introduction
Fallen Celica is a different form of regular Celica, who hails from Fire Emblem: Gaiden and Shadows of Valentia. This version of Celica is a red sword-wielding infantry and boasts excellent Attack and Speed stats, which identify her as an offensive unit.
However, the effect of her Beloved Zofia is so strong that she can in reality perform defensive roles as well, given some support. The primary issue with Celica is the fact she can only gain the effect of Beloved Zofia for just one battle where she attacks. This gives her a great matchup spread but only allows her to fight at full strength once.
Despite this, She is one the strongest sword-users in the entire game, boasting excellent matchup spreads and a powerful statline. Her weaknesses can all be mitigated, and she fits well into offensive, defensive and mixed team compositions. She is also one of the cheapest top-tier units to build, only requiring skills that can be obtained at four stars.
Strengths
Well-rounded and powerful statline.
Celica has base 35 Attack and Speed, identifying her as one of the strongest offensive units right off the bat. Her stats are boosted further by her unique weapon Beloved Zofia, which grants her an additional +4 to all stats. When combined with Chilling Speed's debuff, Celica is one of the fastest and hardest-hitting units in the game.
Bulky for an offensive unit.
Typically, offensive units have poor defensive stats as a weakness. Celica does not have this thanks to her weapon Beloved Zofia. If she opts for Fury in her A slot, Celica will have 37 Defense and 30 Resistance (assuming a Resistance bane). Combined with her high Speed, it means she is not necessarily weak to mages and can easily withstand powerful attacks such as Ayra's Regnal Astra.
Weaknesses
Hard to stay at 100% health with Beloved Zofia.
Unlike other high-tier red swords, Celica is somewhat reliant on her team-mates when engaging multiple foes. She loses health when she fights due to her weapon's effect, meaning she can only take advantage of the stat buff just one time. She requires an ally to heal her in order to get the buff for multiple fights. However, she is still very powerful even without the extra effect.
Lacks Distant Counter.
This is really more of a nitpick, but in comparison to the majority of top-tier swords, Celica's lack of Distant Counter does hurt her viability. She can tank mages, but is unable to retaliate and KO them like some of her peers.
Team Options
Counters
No matter her build, Celica just cannot punch through blue tanks, who have both type coverage against her and huge defenses to wall her attacks. She is also susceptible to being chipped down: Mages can rarely OHKO her, but can lower her from full HP in order to weaken her offensive potential. Blue mages do have the power to KO her however.
- Blue Mages: Slow but strong mages such as Reinhardt, Micaiah, and Mae all have the power to OHKO Celica. They don't mind having their Speed debuffed as they one-shot her anyway.
- Blue Tanks: Standard Blue tanks easily wall her with their type coverage and huge defenses. Nowi, Corrin-F, and Effie are the three most commonly seen, and all hard counter Celica.
- Wrath Users: Celica's Attack is so high that she nearly without fail activates an opponent's Wrath. These units also tend to OHKO their opponents and don't rely on Speed. Nephenee as well as Wrath variants of the Black Knight and Brave Ike can beat Celica.

Glimmer | C | Drive Atk 2 |

Celica’s attack Rivals that of LA!Hector so she is a unit that is able to run glimmer effectively since it will do more damage than moonbow. Also having a low skill charge allows her to fight multiple foes by killing them in a single hit. Celica is a great unit for killing high priority threats even being able to duel winter tharja and have enough fight left in her to beat other green units that remain. Using draw back and drive attack make it so she can play safe and still be useful after killing her first target as she needs to pick her fights carefully. Alternatively you can use reciprocal aid to swap hp and keep her at full when a teammate isn’t useful in battle to reset her passive and activate escape route and desperation skills.

This build is unique and focuses on tanking/dealing damage and debuffing enemies with Panic Ploy. This build is surprisingly effective during enemy phase the most because of Panic Ploy. F. Celica Becomes an absolute monster and destroys almost anything once she's able to proc Aether. You can also run Ignis with this build to go even further beyond with her damage output. The only thing I've ran into that stops this build completely is if Reinhardt gets to her first and Wary Fighter Effie. There's more that can but they have a tougher time dealing with this build for F. Celica.

Aether | C | Hone Atk 3 |

Beloved Zofia has the unusual property of self inflicting 4 damage to Celica after combat. When combined with fury, this becomes 10. This enables her to drop into desperation range after any combat regardless of if she is hit. Heavy blade is an excellent choice of seal as a a neutral unbuffed Celica at full hp achieved a total attack of 58 with fury, this making heavy blade extremely effective at activating high cooldown specials such as Aether.

Ignis | C | Hone Atk 3 |

This build's main focus is to create situations in which Celica is able to kill entirely in the player phase. Speed in this case is the best boon as when combined with fury 3 she is able to reach a strong 41 speed stat allowing her to avoid virtually all double hits as well as being able to double many units. Desperation and Ardent Sacrifice are both personal touches and can easily be replaced with either swap or reposition and chill speed based on your team composition. Heavy Blade 3 is not a requirement however if you do remove it you will want to trade off Ignis for either Bonfire or a Moonbow. If you do not want to use Heavy Blade it can be traded off for a +atk, +spd, or +def sacred seal as those are her best stats and would appreciate the boost. The C slot is completely your choice and is only left at Hone Atk as it is the cheapest option. Overall all of these are interchangeable however I do believe that Fury is her best A slot, if you do not have one to spare the only other skill you can really use to budget for it are Life&Death (since it is on a 4* now) or Triangle Adept to help with armored units. These do reduce her bulk a bit but should still work for her.

Luna | C | Savage Blow 3 |
| S | Attack +3 | ||
Even with an Attack bane, Fallen Celica is still formidable and hits like a truck. She requires little investment when it comes to SI.
I gave her Death Blow because she's mostly a player phase unit anyway. And with the Attack bane, she'll need the extra +6 Atk. Chill Speed is absolutely monstrous. It allows Celica to double the fastest unit on the field or enable another unit that is faster than her to double them instead. Savage Blow is there to get some extra damage off just in case she can't kill, although she most likely will. Her Atk stat is 48, but with the Attack +3 seal, it goes to its neutral state, which is 51. Add that with her Beloved Zofia's boost of +4, Death Blow 3, and a boost from Hone Atk or Dark Aura, and watch the heads roll.
(I should also mention that you'll need a healer to keep using her Beloved Zofia's effect. I personally prefer Physic+, but do what fits your playstyle)
Here's the math for both buffs:
(Hone Atk) 4 + 6+ 4 = 14. 51 + 14 = 65
(Dark Aura) 4 + 6 + 6 = 16. 51 + 16 = 67
Again, keep in mind that this is with an Attack bane.
So if you actually bothered to read all of this, you're a legend. Long story short, don't be disappointed with a -Atk Celica. She is still viable and useful.
