Est has two good stats to her name: her Attack and her Resistance. Everything else is average to poor and is generally disregarded in her most popular builds.
Boons
- +ATK: Her most popular stat to increase and the best by far when looking at her Brave Lance set, Est reaches 38 natural Attack with a boon, one of the highest attack caps of the blue fliers.
- +RES: Alternatively, Est can take a Resistance boon with the intent to land multiple Ploy skills. 32 Resistance isn’t what it used to be and Est may miss valuable debuffs with her neutral Resistance stat.
Neutral
- SPD: 30 Speed isn’t doing Est any favors and is one of the poorer Speed stats among blue fliers. If you want to invest in Speed, Catria or Shanna would be better options- with Est, it’s best to keep it neutral to avoid a superbane, but a bane doesn’t make too much difference in how often she’s doubled either.
- DEF: With a superboon in Defense, it’s tempting to try and make Est a mixed tank, however, 28 Defense is still very limiting and generally not worth taking over her other stats.
Banes
-
-HP: Despite being a superboon, HP is Est’s dump stat as she is not meant to be attacked at all. It’s easy to let go of HP for some of her more attractive stats.

Est’s infamous Brave Lance set has put her on the map as one of the more reliable and hard-hitting budget units in the game. With a 3-4 star availability, finding an Est with the proper IVs isn’t too difficult, and the basic skills for her infamous build (Brave Lance/Death Blow) are generally easy to allocate on a budget. Chill Defense is more difficult to obtain but helps her out monumentally, potentially giving her an additional 14 damage on the opponent with the highest Defense.
Chill Def notwithstanding, a +ATK Est can hit an effective 52x2 Attack on initiation with Brave Lance/Death Blow, which already helps her offer a significant amount of damage for your team. Additionally, Est is infamous for her unique ability to Ploy opponents with her significant Resistance stat. If she can land her Defense Ploy, she can debuff her opponent for -5 Defense, enabling 57x2. However, do note that Chill Def and Def Ploy do not stack- if targeting the same foe, they will only suffer -7 to Defense and not -12.
Her C and Seal slots are the most variable with this build and can be changed around depending on what you want her to accomplish. Spd Ploy in the C slot will offer her some additional utility to the rest of her team by decreasing the Speed of enemy units before her teammates engage with them... though with 25 Speed, it won’t exactly help Est quad anytime soon. If one has a unit with Hone Fliers on their team, it could be worth attempting equipping Life and Death and a +SPD IV on Est, but ultimately the idea of quadding makes her too reliant on flier buffs and loses out on damage if she can’t quad or sustain a counterattack.
It’s better then, to use her C slot either as a way to carry her Def Ploy or as a utility slot for the rest of your team: Spd Ploy to help your Player Phase sweepers, Fortify Fliers to help your flying tanks, Guidance, or any other sort of buff or debuff your team may need.
Her Seal slot is similar. Generally it’s wise to carry Defense Ploy in either her C or Seal, so if not carrying it in C, then she should have it here. However, opening up her Seal slot also offers her the option of running a Heavy Blade set. You’ll want to make sure that she has a proper attack buff for this, as 52 Attack isn’t the best for Heavy Blade activation, but if you have a unit on your team who can buff her Attack, she’ll be able to activate it quite easily for a devastating Glimmer at the end of her Brave Lance double, which vastly increases her damage.
If neither is available, then Atk + 3 is plenty serviceable to further increase her damage done.

While Est’s most famous build requires some heavy Skill Inheritance, it isn’t her only claim to fame. For a bit cheaper of an investment, Est can also be a fantastic anti-armor unit and can also effectively counter sword units as well. For this reason, she can prove to be incredibly valuable in Arena Assault and in general use.
Depending on her opponent, Est utilizes Death Blow or Close Defense in order to engage her armored foes in the Phase of her choosing. For some opponents, like a typical Hector or Fallen Robin, Est will bait attacks in Enemy Phase and survive due to Close Defense and her mixed defenses, before countering with a double attack and activating Moonbow for the KO. For others, such as Zelgius, Effie, and Hardin, Est will utilize Death Blow for the final few points of damage required to KO her opponent in a single hit.
With this set, the only armors that Est has difficulty with are green units with Bold Fighter (LA! Hector, Hector, Winter Chrom) and Halloween Jakob.
Swordbreaker over Quick Riposte helps Est to quickly shut down Zelgius if he manages to survive past his first hit, in addition it increases Est’s survivability against non-armored sword units and helps her to secure valuable KOs against units like Ayra and Mia.
Introduction
While Est enjoyed her fifteen minutes of fame during the release of Defense Ploy as a skill, subsequent skills have made her stronger despite her popularity fading into obscurity . Her high Attack and Resistance are key in allowing her to utilize her famous Brave Lance build or conversely letting her oneshot armor units on a budget.
Because of this, Est can prove to be a valuable unit to have in your barracks, even if her utility is a bit more specialized than some of the other units. Her lack of Speed or Defense prevents her from triumphing at the top of a tier list, but she’s still plenty useful in her own right.
Strengths
High Attack and Resistance
Est’s high Attack instantly gives her the viability to run a Brave Lance set, regardless of the rest of her stats.
Her Resistance is also high enough to allow her to use a myriad of ploys against her opponent for valuable debuffs.
This also makes her decent at dueling dragons such as both Tikis and Nowi.
Good availability
Being available as a 3 star since launch means that if you summon on blue orbs with any kind of regularity, you’ve probably seen her face in your summoning sessions.
Est is easy to merge and easy to get optimal IVs for, making her a very F2P friendly unit.
Weaknesses
Low Speed and Defense
Her Speed and Defense stats are lower than average, which makes her difficult to use with a traditional dueling set since she can’t typically sustain two hits from an opponent and she doesn’t have the speed to double.
She mitigates this by running her Brave lance set, which is also incredibly vulnerable in Enemy Phase.
This makes her Enemy Phase all around rather poor, as her defensive stats are too low to be utilized as a proper mixed tank.
Reliant on Attack stat
Est is only known for her Brave Lance build, and for good reason: her Attack is generally the only thing she has to lean back on.
Even her Slaying Spear build is similar, as she needs to oneshot her opponents quickly with her high Attack before they can eliminate her.
If she cannot oneshot her opponents, it’s very likely that she will not survive the subsequent Enemy Phase.
Team Options
Counters
Due to her low Speed and Defense, Est’s general weakness is simply her Enemy Phase, which can be compartmentalized into several categories.
- Archers: Est shares typical flier weaknesses, meaning that archers such as Brave Lyn, Bridal Cordelia, and Innes are lethal for her.
- Greens: High defense greens, such as either Hector, Bartre, and Arthur will all prove difficult for Est to KO.
- Green Magic: Despite her high Resistance, Est can still fall to a buffed Nino, Cecilia, and Merric.

Est’s Anti-Armor Delivery Services are open for business!!!
White there are better weapons choices, Slaying Spear+ makes est an Armor breaker, and it also allows you to keep other weapon fodder for later. A Res+ upgrade increases Est’s ability to ploy other units with high res, and even escaping Arvis’s ploy capabilities.
Fury, being the almighty god skill that it is, increases all of Est’s stats, allowing her to both tank hits and dish out punishment even better. With the downside of taking damage though, it’s important that you only pick fights that you can win.
While any Breaker skill seems like a stupid choice with Fury, this is a different case. Est can run any of the Breaker skills available to her (meaning Axebreaker and Green Tomebreaker are out of the question, obviously), and still have a decent amount of HP afterwards. Using these skills is basically a one-time nuke against a certain type of unit, since she’ll probably take a hefty amount of damage.
Any Ploy skill can be run in her C Slot. Def Ploy is especially good to allow her and her other melee allies to rack up quicker damage on units with high defense but low res like Effie, Black Knight, and Hector. Atk Ploy increases her survivability and can even give her a chance of staying in Breaker range. The same can be said about her Sacred Seal. The only exception to this is Res Ploy, unless you are running her on a team a mage like Morgan, who can obtain Flier buffs, or Sanaki, who has her Cymbeline Refine.
All in all, this set is meant to bust the pretty common threat of Armor Emblem. However, it also works on other fronts as well, which makes Est a well-rounded unit and an acceptable teammate on a Flier team.

The youngest pegasus knight is quite the fixer-upper of a unit. Granted an unsynergetic kit that makes her little more than feather fodder, she's someone who requires a whole skill transplant to be usable in the long run. Once you make that investment, however, you won't be disappointed.
Est is a very aggressive player phase unit when given the proper build. Her attack reaches an excellent 56 with an attack boon, and Death Blow makes it reach a blistering 62 on the player phase. That's enough to help her proc Heavy Blade against a fair portion of units, and with Slaying Lance+, her Luna only needs one hit to be charged up and ready to retaliate. Where she shines is against slower units that allow her to double them, thus ensuring almost certain death against anything that isn't a green unit. Hit and Run allows her to draw back after she attacks, which allows her to be easily repositioned out of danger by one of her teammates. Guidance allows her to help any armored or infantry friend get into position to unleash some hurt as well, so she can assist her teammates as needed.

This build for Est allows the Youngest Whitewing to become a duelist among the blue units and slayer of the reds. She has a one turn special that allows her to deal with high defense units with ease, although a two turn Luna is not bad either. The crux of build lies in the Fortress Defense 3 skill. This builds allows Est to endure physical hits that she would otherwise not and become badly damaged all at the cost of 3 points of Attack. This build excels also when integrated into a Flier team, of course results with vary depends on team composition and enemy lineup. However, this build leaves her vulnerable to all projectiles, anti-counter attack skills and weapons. This builds assigns Est to the role of a decent duelist of dragons due to her high resistance and give her mixed bulk. Use her well!

Don't mEst with the bEst!:
This build seeks to make the most of Est's weapon and good attack to make a hard hitting dual phase threat that can take care of most armored units.
Mirror Strike is taken to bring Est up to a crisp 58 Attack when initiating, which is capable of OHKO Zephiel, +Def Winter Tharja, + Def Effie, and + Def Winter Robin all in one mighty jab. Keep in mind that Effie and W!Robin will survive with two Ward Armor buffs, but both will still fall after a single Hone Fliers buff (watch out for +Def refinements). Mirror Strike also has the added benefit of adding to Est's Iceberg damage should it activate while she's attacking. Should you want more attack, Death Blow would be the way to go, Fury is also a good alternative in order for Est to tank hits better.
Quick Riposte is taken so Est can break through Wary Fighter and destroy anything that doesn't destroy her first. Be warned that Est's defense and speed is mediocre, so be careful when trying to use her to tank units with high attack or speed, even sword units. Alternatively, Swordbreaker or Lancebreaker can be used to help alleviate her mediocre speed.
Defense ploy is used in order to indirectly boost Est's already great attack to further heights, and to increase her OHKO potential. If running her in a Flier Emblem team, her C skill can be easily replaced with any flier buff you desire while Defense ploy can still be used as a sacred seal.
Team wise Est likes teammates who can handle Axe units and boost her attack and speed (especially speed). Palla and New Year Azura deserve special mentions as they both boost Est's stats while Palla can deal with any nasty green units who stand in her way.

I present to you the ultimate mage killer. With all your love and support, she can already tank that bloody Reinhardt even if he is max merged and kill him in return. (Watch out for Lancebreaker skills)
The speed bane is so she can be doubled by usual green mages (she'll be fine) and trigger Iceberg, for the sure kill. She takes about no damage on other blue and red mages, so bait them to your heart's content.
But if what you need is a definitive solution to Reinhardt, you can still use Blue Tomebreaker instead of Quick Riposte.
