Standard maximum offense set for archers. Clarisse’s biggest weakness is her lack of ability to have IVs; as a result, her offensive firepower will be lower comparatively to other archers that normally run this set. However, the set alone is very powerful, and Clarisse is no exception. It just means that Clarisse very much wants support in the form of attack and speed buffs to reach full potential.
A single use of Ardent Sacrifice will drop Clarisse into Desperation range, allowing her to then start unleashing quad strikes. However, a movement assist like Reposition can be used instead, as Clarisse generally has enough bulk to withstand a single hit. Ardent Sacrifice is a near necessity if running Life and Death, as her bulk will drop to very dangerously low levels - 57 physical, and 52 magical, both of which will cause Clarisse to be liable to die in a single hit. Ardent Sacrifice removes the need for Clarisse to ever be hit entirely.
Swift Sparrow is ideal since it avoids damaging her bulk, but Life and Death can be used if paired with Ardent Sacrifice. Death Blow is a budget option, but only if running Brave Bow. With Swift Sparrow, Clarisse can land a quad on units with up to 28 speed, or 32 if Clarisse has a Hone Speed buff. Life and Death increases this to 29 and 33 respectively. Running Death Blow means Clarisse will only quad units with up to 24 speed, so quads should not be particularly expected to happen.
The key difference between Firesweep Bow+ and Brave Bow+ is that Brave Bow+ has more damage potential due to quad strikes, while Firesweep Bow+ is a much safer option due to negating the possibility of being counterattacked. In either case, Clarisse will want support in the form of speed and attack buffs to maximize her potential.
Swordbreaker improves Clarisse’s matchups against the very speedy and fairly tanky swords, such as Mia and Ayra. Cancel Affinity can be taken to give her the ability to take out Triangle Adept/Raven tome mages, and pairs very nicely with Firesweep Bow.

With her native Clarisse’s Bow, Clarisse can run an excellent debuffing set. After refining, her bow will debuff both the target and any enemies within 2 spaces of the target with a hefty -5 Attack / -5 Speed debuff. Enemies within 2 spaces of the target also suffer an additional 7 or 14 points of damage from Savage Blow.
This build works well when paired with Watersweep or Windsweep, as either of these serve to keep Clarisse safe while applying her debuff. I recommend Watersweep to be able to safely target the highly dangerous dragons, as the combination of the debuff and chip damage from Savage Blow can both neuter their power and potentially knock them out of Quick Riposte range. Windsweep will keep Clarisse safe from Distant Counter units such as Ike and Hector.
With Swift Sparrow, Life and Death, or Fury in her A slot, Clarisse should have enough speed to activate either sweep skill on her opponent without Phantom Spd seal. However, it can still be used to practically guarantee a sweep activation, at the cost of losing 7 chip damage.
This build is best paired with a unit with a Firesweep weapon, as applying mass amounts of chip damage makes you vulnerable to activating Vantage for enemy units.
Introduction
Clarisse is an infantry archer with decent attack and solid speed. She has an interesting kit for debuffing right out of the box, and can be fairly cheaply built to do exactly that. However, her offenses are solid enough that she can run a powerful Brave Bow or Firesweep Bow set, despite facing heavy competition from the likes of Bride Cordelia and Summer Gaius. Clarisse’s advantage over the slightly offensively stronger archers is that she has slightly higher bulk, which can potentially be the difference between life and death (no pun intended) if she has to tank a single hit.
Clarisse’s biggest weakness is her lack of IVs, which severely limits her potential. In addition, Clarisse is only available through time-limited Grand Hero Battle events, meaning that she has limited merge capability. Despite this, her solid statline makes her a good choice for team building considerations.
Strengths
-
31/34 attack/speed gives her a good offensive spread, good enough to run a Firesweep or Brave Bow set
-
Decent base kit for debuffing, a few cheap skill inherits and Clarisse is ready to go for that role
-
Decent physical bulk - 62 physical soak means that Clarisse can handle a single attack from all but the strongest physical Distant Counter units.
Weaknesses
-
Clarisse’s biggest weakness is her inability to have IVs, which severely hampers her ability to specialize in any direction
-
Fairly low magical bulk - while higher than other units (like Takumi and Gordin), Clarisse has a vulnerability to strong mages due to only having 57 combined HP and Resistance
-
Clarisse is rather outclassed amongst archers; her offenses are eclipsed by the likes of Brave Lyn and Bride Cordelia, while her defenses are easy surpassed by Halloween Jakob and Faye. However, her stats are adequate to function with an offensive build, and stats are significantly less important when running a debuffing build.
Team Options
Counters
-
As a colorless unit, the most common counter to Clarisse is a Triangle Adept/Raven tome unit such as Boey or Robin(M). However, Clarisse can bypass this weakness by running Cancel Affinity.
-
Strong Player Phase units such as Reinhardt and Soleil can easily dispatch Clarisse as her defenses cannot handle focused offense.
-
Tanky Enemy Phase units like Xander, Black Knight, and Nowi can tank Clarisse’s attacks and kill her in retaliation.

Clarisse can debuff an area's Atk/Spd thanks to her Clarisse's Bow+ refinery. Windsweep ensures safety, negating possible counter-attacks from most ranged units and dragons. Life and Death amps up her damage output and Savage Blow C Skill and Sacred Seal ensure 14 damage to everyone in that area.
As Clarisse's stats are not too spectacular, Life and Death and Moonbow are used. Draw Back gives her mobility for her and an ally.

This build focuses on rendering enemies-- mainly ranged-- incapable of withstanding Clarisse on the enemy phase, allowing her to remove opponents while counterattacking. The build hinges on her Poison Strike passive, which is used to activate Fire Boost. If baited properly, enemy units activate Threaten Defense, which gives Clarisse a fearsome 53 Atk and 41 Spd on the enemy phase, assuming that Fire Boost is activated. Pivot gives her greater mobility and the chance to escape in a pinch, and the Savage Blow seal allows her to activate Fire Boost on enemies in the general vicinity faster.

The purpose of this theorycraft build is not to kill or deal as much chip damage or AoE damage as possible but rather to debuff using her default weapon then lead up to a kill from a teammate. Her sacred seal of choice here is HP +3 or Squad Ace to make her more survivable and provide more for passive recovery to her teammates.
I'm quite frustrated over the fact that there isn't a bow equivalent A skill for Dazzling Staff. Since there unfortunately isn't, I decided to run Fury to provide a overall boost to Clarisse's bulk in case she receives a counter attack.
Seal Atk/Spd is crucial to debuffing the target, whereas her bow debuffs 2 spaces within range of target.
After debuffing and landing below 50% HP, whether due to combat, Fury's after effect, or a Reciprocal Aid prior to combat, another unit with Wings of Mercy will swoop in and safely combat the weakened foe while prepping their special. This set also complements Wings of Mercy dancers/singers for a tactical retreat.

This Clarisse basically makes me feel what it's like to have a Bridelia. Carried the FUCK out of me through these last Trials (saved my ass on the last few days of the last one). Between L&D, S-supporting and a Spd Seal, she just feels amazing to have around. I'm definitely rather doubtful to cut this one off, at least until next Trials kick in.
I was very eager to having a good archer on my team, and she never failed me. Even as a *4, she was an easy Top 5 MVP.
*+3 Spd Seal
** I've played around with Luna, Moonbow and Dragon Fang. Dragon Fang is specially good if you have QP on prolonged battles (like Trials and Chains), but it otherwise costs you +3 Spd. Moonbow allows you to potentially knock two of those in one round at times, but it's rather situational. Luna's pretty much the best, so far.

+3 Speed seal puts her speed high enough to run a successful quad striking build but requires Hone Spd 3 support in order for her to quad strike her opponents.
