  • To capitalize on her defensive nature as well as her damage soaking potential, the +Speed boon is highly recommended to avoid follow-ups.

  • If wanting to use her as a "bulkier Elise", the +Attack IV is also a good choice as the boon increase is by 4 points, not 3.

A set focused completely on utility.

Dazzling Gravity+ allows for complete control of the enemy's movement, preventing anything fishy from happening. The same applies for Guard, which allows your team to go on the offense without worry of special skills.

Savage Blow 6 is taken for more weakening of the enemy team while allowing your own to kill them in one shot. Be wary as this brings up Wings of Mercy or Vantage. But really, Wings of Mercy has no need for worry when the enemy heroes are all at 1 movement.

Clarine's Seal slot can be used for Speed +3 for more double denials, as is her C slot if you do not want her to use Savage Blow.

A budget support build focused on being bulkier and countering any themed teams with 39 or less HP.

Her base weapon and healing are kept, as Fear+ gives Clarine a good amount of attack and thus synergizes well with Martyr+, which heals for half of her attack. It will also give Clarine some self-sustain letting her fight more fights.

HP +5 increases the limit of her overall damage soak, letting her live more match-ups.

Bowbreaker gives Clarine the ability to safely bait and debuff Brave Lyn without worrying about the Wings of Mercy proc.

Seal slot is occupied by Panic Ploy, and with Clarine's 40 HP it will trigger on the majority of ranged archers/mages.

An attack-based set for Clarine, despite her bad attack stat.

With all of these passives and Gravity+, Clarine will reach an attack stat of 48 or 50, depending on her A slot. Not too shabby! This lets her deal great amounts of damage, as well as utilize healing abilities to their fullest. Recover+ will thus heal for 34 points, or 24 if using Martyr+ or Physic+.

The Wrathful Dazzling combo is mandatory for this set to deal safe consistent damage alongside her weapon's debuff.

Attack Ploy takes advantage of her 29 resistance to lessen the blows from low-resistance high-attack heroes and heroines.

Introduction

Pros:

  • The best defensive staff unit in the game
  • One of the fastest healers

Cons:

  • Power is a no go, reducing healing potency
  • Less resistance than her classmates
  • Burst damage is very low lest backed by Cavalry buffs or all the attack passives

Clarine, the Refined Noble, is a great defensive staff unit capable of surviving a great many match ups at the cost of attack power.

With a speed stat of 33 points, Clarine has great potential for denying any and all follow-up attacks, and can survive a lot of fights that come her way, making her a great distraction for setting up your own team, or debuffing the enemy.

Unfortunately, her low attack stat causes her burst damage to be inexistent, and finishing off an enemy can be tough for her if you choose to use Wrathful Staff. To add, the upgraded versions of healing skills all rely on attack, making Clarine's heals not as great as Priscilla or Elise.

Her low attack has an upside, however. As you will not be looking to deal damage with her, her speed stat won't be used for follow-ups but rather to deny them, lifting the "absolute necessity" of making the quick healers as fast as possible.

Overall, Clarine is an incredible defensive healer, an if you would rather use a tough-to-kill support who can't do much damage, the refined noble may be for you!

Strengths
  • Incredible damage soak

    • A physical unit will need 57 attack to one-shot her, which many heroes have difficulty achieving.
    • Magical units will instead need 64 attack, which is possible by movement-based Blade mages.
  • Speedy speedy staff breezy

    • Resting at 33 points in speed, Clarine can easily reach very high values.
    • With a +Speed IV and Speed +6 via A slot and Seal, Clarine can reach a grand total of 42 speed, causing her to deny follow ups from any units with 46 speed or less.
Weaknesses
  • Bulk isn't too good

    • In case she gets doubled (or attacked twice by two units), her enemy will need 40 attack at minimum to one-round her.
    • As for mages, they will require 47 neutral or 40 advantage attack (via Raven tome) to defeat her in two shots.
  • Low attack

    • Clarine's healing potency isn't fantastic due to her low attack stat, and she will heal for about 28 health points per Recover+, or 18 per Martyr+ trigger.
    • Due to having trouble reaching 40 attack, Clarine will not do any significant damage to units with decent resistance, even with the double.
Team Options

Other than the super obvious Cavalrymen and Cavalrywomen, Clarine's teammates depend entirely on the kinds of skills she uses.

  • Gravity+ is highly recommended with a teammate possessing Draw Back or Reposition to prevent Clarine from being hit by the opponent she just attacked.

  • Fear+ is recommended for teams wanting to follow-up the enemy, as their counterattack won't be as harmful.

  • Slow+ is recommended for teams using units in the 36-40 speed tiers to prevent follow-ups from those faster than them, or for Desperation-based teams who want to follow-up as much as possible.

Anything else is whatever, really. Unless she has Rehabilitate+, which is recommended with high-HP units or Armoured teams.

Counters

While killing Clarine is certainly difficult, she will easily be shot down if she attempts to battle it out against multiple physical units, Brave users, or anyone with a ridiculous speed stat who will double her.
