Key stats worth increasing through nature if possible.
Complementary stats that matter, but not to the point of picking them over key stats for nature increase.
Relatively worthless stat that can safely be decreased through nature.

Assets

  • +ATK: Bridal Sigrun heavily values Attack, given her somewhat mediocre base value of 31. Though she can improve this stat through refinements and stats, an extra +3 to her Attack will push her offensive spread to a much more respectable 34/38.

  • +SPD: Sigrun already wields a solid base 38 Speed, but further improving her Speed can ensure that Sigrun can make follow-up attacks against fast opponents. With a base value of 41, Sigrun can easily reach upwards of 50 Speed after skills and bonuses.

Neutral

  • DEF: As Bridal Sigrun has a 4-point Flaw in Defense, while not being as important to her combat ability as Attack or Speed, her Defense stat is best kept neutral. Her Defense can be specialised if desired, as her base of 27 is surprisingly decent.

  • HP: Sigrun’s poor base HP can leave her vulnerable to OHKO, but can be improved through weapon refinement with ease. It’s worth preserving her base HP whenever possible.

Flaws

  • -RES: With a base 31 Resistance, Sigrun’s magical bulk is passable, and remains as such even with a Resistance Flaw pushing this down to 28. As investing in her Attack or Speed is generally preferred, Resistance is a preferable Flaw.

Show Explanation/Analysis

Preferred IV: +ATK or +SPD / -RES

  • Sigrun values her offensive stats above all else, and should prioritise them when selecting her Asset. Either +ATK or +SPD is preferable, though +ATK is arguably more useful due to Sigrun’s shaky base Attack of 31.

Weapon: Cake Cutter (+Atk/Spd) / Slaying Edge (+Atk/Spd)

  • The Cake Cutter is a natural fit for Sigrun, augmenting her strong offensive stats and aggressive player-phase oriented playstyle. Access to weapon refinements offers room for further specialisation as well: with a +Spd refinement, this weapon can place Sigrun’s offensive stats at a respectable 49/45 before Assets, skills or buffs come into play.
  • Alternatively, a Slaying Edge can be a viable alternative for those looking to improve Sigrun’s effectiveness on Enemy Phase as well as Player Phase, though this is hard to recommend considering how well-suited the Cake Cutter is for Sigrun.

Assist: Reposition / Flexible

  • Reposition offers solid maneuverability and is easily accessible, but as always the Assist skills is flexible and often team dependant.

Special: Moonbow / Luna

  • Moonbow offers reasonable bonus damage on a short cooldown, making it a surefire choice for a Special skill.
  • For those looking for more bonus damage, Luna offers more firepower in exchange for a longer Special cooldown. Sigrun will be unable to activate this Special skill in her first round of combat without Special charge support, but allows for a devastating initiation during her second engagement.

Passive A: Swift Sparrow / Atk/Spd Solo / Death Blow / Life and Death

  • Given Sigrun’s strong offenses and her possession of Cake Cutter as her default weapon, Swift Sparrow should come as not surprise as an optimal A slot skill. The bonus Attack and Speed on initiation synergises perfectly with Cake Cutter.
  • Atk/Spd Solo offers a greater bonus, but has less availability and a more stringent requirement. This skill remains a solid choice for those looking to maximise Sigrun’s damage output, and complements a dancer nicely.
  • Death Blow can be a cheaper alternative to Swift Sparrow, and offers more utility against foes that Sigrun can naturally deal follow-up attacks against. As any excess Speed is wasted, some players may opt for the extra Attack, especially if Sigrun can receive Speed buffs from her allies.
  • Life and Death discards Sigrun’s defensive bulk in favour of a more consistent boost to Attack and Speed. This skill is generally weaker than the previous choices, but can be serviceable if no alternatives are available.

Passive B: Desperation

  • Desperation protects Sigrun from enemy retaliation provided she meets the necessary HP threshold. With her reasonable defensive stats, this is often easy to achieve after a single engagement.

Passive C: Air Orders / Even Attack Wave / Flexible

  • If Sigrun is alongside flying allies, there’s little reason to replace Air Orders. Wave skills are inefficient compared to an ally’s Hone Fliers.
  • On the other hand, if Sigrun is not guaranteed offensive buffs from her allies, Even Attack Wave offers a hefty boost in Attack which will greatly improve Sigrun’s offensive capability.

Sacred Seal: Atk/Spd Bond / Darting Blow / Atk/Spd 2

  • Atk/Spd Bond offers the greatest offensive bonus possible from a Sacred Seal, making it the best choice if you can commit to meeting the adjacency requirements. However, avoid using this Seal if you’re running Atk/Spd Solo!
  • Darting Blow offers a helpful boost to Speed, allowing Sigrun to invest more heavily in her Attack in other areas. If you’re limited to more accessible A slot skills such as Death Blow instead of Swift Sparrow, Darting Blow can be a valuable complementary skill.
  • Atk/Spd 2, while not as strong as Atk/Spd Bond, can be a straightforward boost to Sigrun’s offensive stats. This is a useful choice if other seals are occupied by teammates.

Weapon: Firesweep Sword

  • The Firesweep Sword allows Sigrun to engage without fear of retaliation. This makes her a fearsome attacker who can tear through enemy teams without taking so much as a scratch, provided her offensive stats are strong enough.

Passive A:  Life and Death / Swift Sparrow / Atk/Spd Solo / Death Blow

  • Life and Death is more appealing thanks to the Firesweep Sword offering protection during Player Phase. The hit to Sigrun’s defenses will still leave her incredibly vulnerable on Enemy Phase, but as she’ll be unable to retaliate on Enemy Phase with the Firesweep Sword, you should avoid leaving her within enemy attack range regardless.
  • Swift Sparrow offers a strong balance of both Attack and Speed without the penalty to defensive stats. This makes it a strong and safe choice.
  • Atk/Spd Solo is a solid choice for offensive skills, offering a fantastic +6 to both Attack and Speed. With a Firesweep Sword, it can be easy to engage enemies safely while staying away from allied heroes to ensure Sigrun benefits from the bonus.
  • Death Blow is more accessible than the aforementioned skills, but offers no additional Speed. This can be compensated by running the Darting Blow Sacred Seal, though other offensive options may be more appealing.

Passive B: Chill Spd / Chill Def / Hit and Run

  • Chill Spd allows Sigrun to guarantee more follow-up attacks against faster opponents, vastly improving her KO potential. Furthermore, Chill Spd can also allow her to survive against fast attackers like Karla and Mareeta if their Speed is penalised to match Sigrun’s.
  • Chill Def is the stronger choice against enemy heroes who Sigrun naturally doubles: with her strong offensive stats and debuffs on the enemy, few opponents will be avoid taking heavy damage.
  • Hit and Run offers no direct improvement to combat, but allows Sigrun to retreat after initiating combat. This can allow her to escape enemy attack range more easily without relying on several teammates or a dancer.

Introduction

Bridal Sigrun is a fearsome offensive unit with strong Player Phase capability. Her stats are remarkably balanced, with the exception of a standout 38 base Speed. This provides the foundation for her offensive role, ensuring Sigrun can make consistent follow-up attacks while protecting herself from enemy follow-up.

As a swordswoman and flier, Sigrun wields fantastic mobility as well as strong weapon choices. Her base weapon, Cake Cutter, provides a solid attack boost when initiating, allowing her to perform admirably with minimal inheritance. Alternatively, a Firesweep Sword is easy to inherit and allows Sigrun to engage more safely, though at the cost of a weapon refinement and a retaliatory attack. Her flier status supports this role tremendously, allowing her to traverse the battlefield unimpeded.

Sigrun is not without her weaknesses however. Though her weapon choices are strong, the lack of a PRF hurts her competitiveness compared to Caeda or Laegjarn. Furthermore, her respectable stats across the board are hindered by her low HP pool, which leaves her susceptible to OHKO attacks. Finally, her weakness to archers threatens her usefulness against some teams, as Sigrun will fail to withstand even a single attack. Nevertheless, with Flier support and the right arsenal of skills, Sigrun can cleave through enemy teams with her tremendous offensive capability.

“Please don’t hold it against me if I tell you something very personal, but… I am very happy around you. My bliss, if you will, is fighting with you in a bloody battle.”

Sigrun, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Strengths

Fantastic Speed

Sigrun’s respectable base Speed of 38 offers strong offensive and defensive utility. Her foundation allows Sigrun to reach over 50 Speed after skills and buffs with relative ease, ensuring she can avoid enemy follow-up attacks and deliver her own.

Flier Mobility

Sigrun’s flier classification allows her to cross all rough terrain unimpeded, making it easier for her to engage enemy heroes from a safe location. This is particularly vital if she opts for a Firesweep Sword, as Sigrun can protect herself during enemy phase.

Weaknesses

Poor HP

Sigrun’s base HP sits at a disappointing base 35, leaving her incredibly vulnerable to OHKO. Thankfully, this drawback can be remedied through a range of methods, including weapon refinement and Summoner Support.

Middling Attack

Though 31 base Attack isn't awful, it fails to meet the standards set by other offensive powerhouses like Valentine’s Ike, Legendary Roy or Zelgius. Sigrun may sometimes struggle to ensure a KO without heavy support and a boosted Attack stat.
