HPATKSPDDEFRES

Sanaki is an extremely potent offensive threat due to her superior mobility, high base Attack and access to strong class-based buffs. Attack is her most important stat, with all others coming in as secondary. Sanaki can be made fast (depending on her build) or run Ploy skills to give debuff support to mixed teams. Her HP and Defense are of little consequence, as she aims to OHKO opponents to avoid taking damage.

Boons

  • +ATK: More Attack directly improves Sanaki's offensive power, and stands as the single best boon for her to receive. In comparison, none of her other potential boons come close to being as useful as Attack.

Neutral

  • RES: Base 33 Resistance is excellent and combined with her superior mobility, makes her a choice candidate for Ploy skills. Sanaki's Resistance isn't of critical importance, as her low HP makes her a poor tank and her place on Flier teams means she looks to run skills such as Hone or Goad Fliers to support teammates.

  • SPD: Even with significant buffs to her Speed, she stands little chance of surviving counterattacks due to her pitiful Defense. This, coupled with her excellent base Attack means she would rather aim to OHKO foes than seek to double them. On the Nifl Frostflower set, Sanaki can still make good use of a Speed boon.

Banes

  • -HP: Sanaki has low base HP which makes her a shaky check to mages despite her good Resistance. Even still, it's one of her best banes as it does not compromise her offensive prowess.

  • -DEF: At base 16 Defense, Sanaki is unbelievably frail on the physical side. Even with investment, her Defense cannot be salvaged.

Bridal Sanaki's huge Attack stat and access to class-based buffs make her a natural choice for a Blade set. With a Hone Fliers under her belt, she is capable of OHKO'ing most foes she'll come across. This set is somewhat one-dimensional, but unquestionably effective. It also arguably easier to support than the Nifl Frostflower set (as she can be buffed at the start of the turn, keeping allies safer).

Death Blow in her A slot and Attack +3 in her seal slot increase her offenses further, giving her a +9 increase to her Attack. A Blade tome is chosen since Bridal Sanaki can take great advantage of its effects. After just one Hone Fliers, Sanaki gains a significant amount of Attack and even boosts her Speed somewhat. Chill Res is another recommended skill, potentially giving her extra damage against some tough-to-KO targets. She can also run Def/Res Link if you wish to have her support another Blade tome user, and it works well with Reposition or Draw Back.

In order to run this set at maximum efficiency, one of her allies must have the skill Hone Fliers in their C slot. Sanaki can run either Hone or Goad Fliers- Hone is better for other mage fliers, while Goad is better for physical attackers. Reposition lets Sanaki help allies such as Firesweep users retreat safely out of danger. Draw Back can also be used, but the choice is largely down to user preference.

Show Explanation/Analysis
  • Preferred IV: +ATK / -DEF or -HP

  • Weapon: Nifl Frostflowers

  • Assist: Ardent Sacrifice

  • Special: Glimmer / Iceberg

  • Passive A: Swift Sparrow / Fury / Atk/Res Bond

  • Passive B: Desperation

  • Passive C: Goad Fliers

  • Sacred Seal: Attack +3 / Heavy Blade / Res Ploy

For those on a budget or a preference for Bridal Sanaki's beautiful bouquet, this set works well and sees her become much faster than the Blade set. For the most part, this set can be played similarly to the Blade build, but she will miss out on some OHKO's without Desperation. This is a good way to build a Speed boon Sanaki. Although it's slightly tougher to get going, once Desperation is active Sanaki will find herself incredibly powerful.

Nifl Frostflowers mean that she works extremely well with Goad Fliers. Not only should Sanaki carry the skill, her allies should as well. With two allies possessing Goad Fliers nearby, Sanaki will gain a massive +12/+12 to her Attack and Speed. Swift Sparrow and an Attack +3 seal increase her offensive stats further. Fury also works well, and makes it easier to activate Desperation. She can run Atk/Res Bond, but the positional restriction is restrictive.

Desperation is perhaps the most important ability, as without its effect, Bridal Sanaki will miss out on many potential OHKO's. Ardent Sacrifice is taken to help her get into Desperation range safely. She should not attempt to tank hits on the frontline, as she is very frail. Heavy Blade is harder to use, but with Desperation active, can allow Bridal Sanaki to trigger her Special on every encounter. Res Ploy can be taken in her Seal slot, and is a great choice if running Fury, a Res boon or multiple mages. As for her Special, Glimmer is picked as it scales extremely well off her high base attack and buffs. She can also run Iceberg, however, she won't be able to activate it every engagement.

Introduction

Bridal Sanaki is a seasonal variant of Sanaki, a unit from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Unlike her base form, Sanaki is green and takes wing on a pegasus as a flying-type unit. She might not be getting married anytime soon, but is still the center of attention thanks to her titanic base Attack and flying capability, making her an offensive monster when given some team support.

At 36, Sanaki has the highest Attack of flier mages, and deals extreme amounts of damage with either a Blade tome or her unique weapon, Nifl Frostflowers. These weapons make her somewhat reliant on buff support from allies, but with Fliers' freedom of movement and class-based buffs, this is of little consequence.

Where she finds herself countered is units with the Resistance to survive her hits and counterattack. With just 16 base Defense, she lives in fear of units with Distant Counter or skills such as Shield Pulse or Aegis. Her stat distribution also makes her an easy target for skills such as Chilling Seal or Chill Atk. Despite these meager shortcomings, Sanaki is an incredibly threatening unit capable of OHKO'ing most units in the game when properly supported.

Strengths

Extremely high Attack

Much like her infantry form, Bridal Sanaki has an incredibly high lAttack stat. Base 36 is among the highest of all mages, and lets her run a Blade or Nifl Frostflowers set. She also has fairly decent Speed which isn't a gamechanger, but with a Hone Fliers or boost from Nifl Frostflowers, she can quickly creep upwards of 40 to double even faster foes.

Benefits greatly from being a Flier

Being a flier offers Bridal Sanaki many benefits. First and foremost, she has access to Hone Fliers and Goad Fliers buffs. The former powers up her Blade set significantly, and the latter helps her Nifl Frostflowers set. Fliers' ability to cross terrain such as mountains, rivers and forests unhindered makes it easier for her to find offensive opportunities.

Weaknesses

Low durability, especially Defense

35 Base HP makes Bridal Sanaki extremely frail, in danger of dying to nearly any attack. Her physical defense stands at just 16, making Bridal Sanaki weak to units who can survive her first attack and counter back. Although her Resistance is quite good, she is still frail considering her base HP and can't be relied on to tank magical damage.

Statline exposes her to many kinds of debuffs

As it stands, Bridal Sanaki can be crippled with many kinds of debuffs. Her low HP makes her susceptible to Panic Ploy, a skill commonly used by Armor and dragon units. Gunnthra's Chilling Seal will often target Sanaki thanks to her low Defense, hurting her offensive power. Sanaki's Attack is so high that she'll very often be the target of Chill Atk as well. While she can position herself away from Panic Ploy, there is little she can do to avoid the negative effects of other skills.

Team Options

Both her strongest build options see Flier teams as the best choice for her. They give her strong buffs and can keep up with her mobility, an important factor when using Nifl Frostflowers. Sanaki can be used on other teams as well, but misses out on some offensive power. She also won't have the freedom to roam if teamed up with Armor or allies with more limited movement. Her reliance on support restricts her team options more than most units.

  • Anti-Armor Fliers: Sanaki has a tough time with Armor, as many boast superior magical bulk and have the power to OHKO with Distant Counter. Anti-Armor Fliers such as Caeda and Clair provide valuable support with their weapons, and also form a convenient three-color team with her.

  • Offensive Fliers: Sanaki loves being teamed up with Firesweep Fliers such as Elincia, New Year's Camilla, Tana, Cordelia and Shigure. When any of them fail to OHKO a unit, Sanaki can swoop in and finish them off.

  • Sing/Dance users: With buffs such as Hone Attack or Firestorm Dance, they can provide Bridal Sanaki with the ability to KO two enemies in one turn, instantly defeat a unit who would otherwise take two turns, or take a better position on the field. Flying dancers New Year's Azura and Bridal Ninian are best, but all are viable when fielded alongside Bridal Sanaki.
Counters

Many units have the power to KO Bridal Sanaki, but her incredible attack range means she only fears those who either out-range her or can survive her attacks. Defensive units with strong Resistance have the power to stop Bridal Sanaki in her tracks. Red units in particular boast type advantage over her and many come with Distant Counter to end her existence. When properly supported, Sanaki beats nearly all units not listed here, which is a testament to her incredible power.

  • Armor: Thanks to their increased stat pools, many can survive Sanaki's assaults. Armored units are commonly seen with Distant Counter to retaliate against Sanaki, or wield fast-charging Specials such as Glimmer to knock her out of the sky. Zelgius, the Black Knight, Arden, Draug and Zephiel can tank her initial hit and KO her back.

  • Anti-Mages: Anti-mage units all possess incredible Resistance and can take Sanaki's attacks before KO'ing with a counterattack. Felicia, Faye, Sigurd, Seliph, Julia and Deirdre can successfully duel and beat Bridal Sanaki. Gunnthra will die to Sanaki's Attacks, but can cripple her from across the field with Chilling Seal.

  • Ranged Physical Attackers: Her status as a flier leaves her very susceptible to Archers, but her Defense is so low that Dagger-users can also easily KO her. She must beware of Brave Lyn, WoF Hinoka, Sothe and Bunny Kagero.
