Alfonse will have no such break ever.

Wrys is S+ tier so I don't understand why you're asking such a question.

Edit: Working on some calcs for genuine Wrys S+ tier, please hold.

Okay, prepare yourselves for the info I'm about to drop yo cause things are about to get saucy with a capital "meme".

I call this build "Ender of Worlds" by the way.
Original build, do not steal.

Ender of Worlds:

Wrys (+RES / -ATK)

Weapon: Panic / Gravity / Fear
Assist: Martyr
Special: Miracle
A Slot: Distant Def 3 / Fortress Res 3 / Close Counter
B Slot: Live to Serve
C Slot: Atk Ploy 3 / Threaten Attack 3
Sacred Seal: HP +3

(+RES / - ATK) Stats:
45 HP/ 26 ATK/ 23 SPD/ 22 DEF/ 39 RES

So now for the explanations on this particularly OP build (I mean clearly).

This Wrys at no merge survives every single magical unit in the game even if they were [+10] merged and were running Fury 3 by a comfortable margin except for any FULLY buffed "X Emblem" bladetome users. THIS DOES IN FACT INCLUDE He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named even if He were running full Horse Emblem buffs, Death Blow, Quickened Pulse Moonbow, (+ATK/-SPD) and [+10] merged with 2 HP left. If He does not have a SPD bane though, Wrys unfortunately dies.

Considering how Wrys could debuff His Attack stat using Atk Ploy 3 before the literal battle between gods, or after with Threaten Attack and Gravity/ Panic to allow even a lowly Alfonse to kill him, I think it's safe to say that Wrys is now unequivocally God Tier.

And on that note... Wrys can do this against every magical unit in the game and shrug off most of their damage. Do remember that I'm running these calcs with the "Ender of Worlds" build vs. every magical unit at [+10] merge with Fury.

I'd say Distant Def 3 is better than Fortress Res 3, and that Close Counter is the worst option of the 3 as it leaves him the least specialized.

Martyr and Live to Serve 3 are the best options for this build as it allows Wrys to rise like the grand and majestic Phoenix he is. If he were to take the aforementioned onslaught than he could safely turn back and heal himself almost back to full on most occasions as the "recover half the health healed" from Live to Serve and the "heal half the suffered damage" from Martyr synergize to create a literal God. Miracle could potentially make this a living hell for any who dare stand against this literal God in the flesh.

Atk Ploy allows him to snipe any unit to deal as minimal damage to him as possible, and as his speed isn't his greatest stat (although you don't want a bane in it so to avoid getting doubled by Him), he gets doubled by nearly everyone, effectively "doubling" the effectiveness of his Atk Ploy snipe (- 5 x 2). Threaten Attack is the more available option and serves best for a Frontline God if he decides to go into the fray himself whilst inspiring immense fear onto all his of enemies.

And that, my friends... is our God Wrys.

This is the most beautiful analysis of an old bald man I have ever seen, no lie. Will definitely look more into this build! Amelia can make up for the low BST, (even if she is +HP -Def, ew) and a solid debuffer/healer would do wonders for my team. Thanks!

Highest resistance in the game, access to panic... In theory he could be a general magic check but in practice it's not enough. Magic is too unbalanced in this game. He is a competent healer but you rarely see healers in the upper tiers of the arena due to their lower scoring. I don't know, I've been thinking about playing with healers again but I haven't been able to break into tier 20 with what I've got (I need about 690 a win and I'm closer to 680) so experimenting with low score units isn't my priority. Though I do use healers all the time in the other modes.

Would you say that's most of the reason people don't use healers? I only recently become aware of said arena quirks (like BST and skill cost), so I always got the impression people just wanted to heavily maximise on their offense, with a decently strong archer being able to hold better ground.
