I have to respectfully disagree on Anankos being the worst villain . I think Garon is a lot worse. Not sure if people want to hear my Fates loving ass ramble but Im gonna anyway.
(Spoilers for Fates btw)
Anankos is kinda underrated as a villain imo. He wasn't evil, nor did he ever want to be. But when he saw into the future to see what he would become, he knew that he couldn't do a thing to prevent it. The mindset of knowing you don't want to do something but you can change it from happening is pretty dark in retrospect. He can't just kill himself, he has a kingdom to look after and is literally God in the Fates world so his people would obviously freak. So in order to stop himself, and was really the only choice he had, he wrote a song and waited for someone to do the job themselves. Lost in Thoughts all Alone. A song in which the lyrics are literally him crying out for help for someone to put him down. And who better to do it than his own son/daughter (depending on what gender you choose). He knows that things will turn out ok. Even though he himself will be lost in his own evil thoughts, he knows that the world will find peace in unity without him. It's real sad, but also, really wholesome considering that he is technically the one who brought two feuding kingdoms together (with Corrin doing most of the work tho).
Anyway, that's just my take on Anankos. Sorry for the ramble but I really wished he was a more looked on villain. He's not all that bad and is, dare I say, a well written Fates character.

I like Anankos as well. He's quite interesting if you're to look into his back story. Kinda tragic. By the way, he's not a god. Just worshipped as one, like Naga and Grima.

But yeah, being a Fates baby I look into everything to dumb down the hate on it. It's way overhated even though it have a lot of good aspects about it.

Same here. I did a lot of research into Fates' lore back in the day. It's probably the reason why I've come to appreciate Fates. Many interesting aspects that you wouldn't be able to notice unless you tried. Like Camilla and the Concubines or Mikoto and Anankos. But enough of my fanboying. To each their own. Will you be summoning?

Here's the thing about Fates. I don't hate Fates. I liked the gameplay of Fates. I do like the characters of Fates. What I don't like is how butchered the writing is.

Biggest example I give is Xander. Xander's character is completely all over the place depending on the route you choose, and the writings down every route do nothing to justify his character. In fact, the only good form of character for these characters comes from the support conversations, which even then contradict the characters at times depending on which support conversations you see.

The main problem I have with Fates is how the writing was handled. If Fates had a better writing team (and not the Treehouse butchering everything for the sake of censorship), then Fates would (probably) get less hate than it does.

I know I may be the only one in thinking this, but I never saw anything wrong with Xander's character. Hell, I actually really like him for his character. There is a lot going on with him that makes him quite the complex character, imo. I don't think I'm able to do him justice, though. Eh, not really sure about Anankos being the worst villain. Formortiis or Medeus could be argued to fit that better. Idk, guess to each their own. I'm kinda excited for the banner, as I absolutely adore the outfits of the characters and their mysterious theme. Also, still salty as fuck I got to 10.5% on the Legendary banner and STILL got nothing. *ahem* Hope my luck improves.

I don’t understand why people hate fates so much, just because u enjoy older games doesn’t make the newer ones bad.. while i do agree we’re getting too many camillas, but I honestly think fates isn’t that bad 😅

Two reasons:
1) It's popular to shit on the 3DS games not named Echoes because people can't find it in themselves to find the good in the new and the bad in the old
2) Apparently bad writing automatically makes Fates a terrible game. Who needs to pay attention to what is arguably the best gameplay in the series, the amazing soundtrack and actually read into characters to find that they're not as bad as people claim them to be? Nope, instead all it gets is hate. Hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
