Fun (infantry) mage supermerge projects?
Answers
Hi!
Odin and Lilina are excellent projects, as they appear at lower rarities while also scaling very well with merges. Nino is another great option--or any infantry blade tome, really, but she's green. Personally, I'm thinking of doing Henry for his excellent bulk. You could easily do a similar Raventome build with Robin, Boey, or any other decently bulky mage. Those are the most common ones, but I've seen others.
My personal plug is for Arvis, who cannot as of right now be merged fully to +10, but has a fantastic legendary tome and base skillset. He's a staple on my Tempest teams, and he regularly returns in Arena on account of being a GHB unit.

I'd rather not do Nino, she's a little too overly done for me. I'd prefer more unconventional choices. Henry and Boey seem fun, I made a 4* supermerge Boey on my other account and he was a great Bow Lyn+Rein counter.
I have also been seriously considering Arvis, only small dumb reasons holding me back lol

If the barracks is in desperate need for mages, you might not want a supermerge so much as multiple mages. Lots of mages actually do very well with few to no merges.
Nino, Tailtiu, Tharja are somewhat obvious options
Merric is one that's often overlooked but if my memory serves, he can have 44 atk 40 spd with just Excalibur+eff (no A-skill)
M.Morgan has some nice potential but he's not a major offensive powerhouse. I really like stealing people's stats so I'm partial to him.
M.Robin is really good as a budget swordbreaker. With 4* +atk -res and TA he can win against well-merged DC + slaying + wrath Ayra even if Ayra has something like 7 merges

Lilina will always be the OG. As a new account you probably want someone who is fairly easy to use and reliable which Lilina is the embodiment of. She oneshots and can sometimes tank other mages. Not much else to her. If you need a build suggestion I'd be glad to share you a few.

Based on other comments it looks like you want an unconventional build so my suggestion is to make her enemy phase. This build existed before her refinement but afterwards everyone dedicated her to player phase. Especially works well if you manage to get a +Res one. The weapon should stay the same if you don't have too much to invest in it but maybe go +Res instead. Run her with QR2/3 in her B slot and give her a DD seal. Her A slot could work with Fury or Atk/Res Bond. Just make sure she has support and she'll work as a great mage check. I think her better build is the player phase build and it honestly takes less invstment than the enemy phase alternative. You just refine Forblaze for its Effect, give her DB3, and watch her nuke everything. It's the one I run and suggest. It's generic but it's a lot of fun. Her B slot I would reccomend Special Spiral, but as you are new you probably don't have it. Sword Breaker works well (maybe even QR if you want to take a whack at dual phase). Seal I'd use either Attack or QP (or DD3 if you really want to try dual phase).
