How exactly does spd work?
Answers
No breakers and the values I cited are after goads and tactics. There was no dull ranged and my Jaffar's stats weren't debuffed so no chills, ploys, or anything to lower his spd.
Only thing I am unsure of is if there were drives for the Soleil instance, since I they don't show flat stat increases out of combat and two of her allies who might have had one died during the same turn she surprised me by doubling my 50 spd Jaffar without a breaker, so I might have missed those. But even with a Drive Spd active on her, she was only at 44 after being buffed, so idk how she could have possibly gotten to 55 spd....

Could you post at least a picture of your Jaffar (with all the skills he had when fighting both Cecilia and Soleil)? It may help us decipher this problem.
Off the top of my head, here are some things I can think of:
- If you run any of the -Sweep skills on Jaffar, then he will never be able to double on Player Phase.
- If you have Phantom Spd, the +10 doesn't actually contribute to his Spd stat (it's only used for skills that compare Spd values like Windsweep / Watersweep or Flashing Blade).
- In the case of Soleil, maybe she was the Brave Sword variant, which would explain why she could double.

- I don't like running sweeps on him, since being able to double USUALLY means he can ORKO most mages with his legendary dagger refinement.
- Nope, just running the regular +3 spd seal.
- The Soleil was actually just using her default Firesweep Sword, but had LnD3 to boost her speed to what it was.
Here's my Jaffar, 50 spd as I said, but yeah without pictures of the actual encounter I think I might just have to go with "it was a bug."

The last thing that I can think of is that she had a Spd debuff, but then got the Harsh Command or Sacrifice assist--combined with a potential Drive or Spur that you might have missed--which would put her at enough Spd to double.
Other than that, this is a really peculiar case, and I can't think of why something like this could have happened, aside from calling it a bug.

There was no chill spd, my Jaffar's speed hadn't been reduced by anything in either case, and the Soleil had LnD3 while the Cecilia had Fury.
An invisible spur/drive is possible, I might have missed it with Cecilia would could have potentially bumped her spd high enough to avoid a follow up, and maybe I missed one with Soleil as well, but for her to be able to get a double without debuffing my Jaffar and have 44 spd after her teams visible buffs seems suspect, imo.
