Why were so many people wanting her to be a Xander clone? Where was this idea even coming from?

And even so, this is CYL, so there were going to be four units, and each unit was going to be a different color. What, were people expecting her to be a colorless sword-Xander?

I truly don't get it.

Because in the games story, the only character that appeared to give a shit about her was xander, and he was also the only character that she appeared to actually care about. Her taking up his sword after he got surtr'd wouldve been better development than "hurr I wave a stick and heal people now".

And because of THAT reason, people were expecting her to be a Xander clone?

Peshkatz is one of the best weapons in the game in my opinion and she has access to both wrathfull and dazzling staff from the get go! Great healing special too!

You know who else is a ranged cav? Blyn, who has 149 bst. Vero is tied with 7 other ranged cavs for lowest bst in the game.

As a unit shes great, as a means of character development she isnt. That is the problem.

Not gonna lie here man. When I saw Veronica weapon, got so excited. Then I saw the effect....BOY was I steamed. I was like "Did they really just gave her Sothe's weapon in the form of a staff." I got over it though as I reminded myself that she is meant to support. At least that windfire balm is pretty good. She should of had a higher BST though, now that is no excuse.

But you wanted her to be a literal Xander clone. This is something I don't get. She's her own unit and that's an issue. Her being a cavalry healer with a staff that doesn't let you counter, provides buffs/debuffs, and has Wrathful Staff in her B slot is not 'good enough', but making her a Xander Clone is what you want?

Honestly, I don't really know if I should take this seriously. You can't please everyone, so I guess. Just be happy that you're not spending money on the game, because I really don't know what to tell you.

The biggest problem here, is that she wasn't given the same treatment as the other three. She couldve been given a boosted bst like the others, as well as a unique weapon effect like the others, but thats not what they did at all. That's the problem. They couldve gone as far as either giving the unit thats healed an extra special cooldown, or maybe given them a buff that lets them act as bold fighter, you know, to keep with the theme the other three got. But she just got peshkatz. Thats the problem.

I think the problem is that you're looking at her in places that shouldn't matter when it comes to simply choosing a unit you like for the sake of liking them, and it's not like all of the other weapons got "OMG EPIC UNIQUE EFFECT" like you make it seem. Garm is literally just Ephraim gaining an extra attack when he as a visible buff, and even that can be detrimental to teams that don't use visible buffs.

How unique were you wanting her effect to be, because compared to Ephraim's "unique" weapon, Garm, she's not really that far behind, if at all.

Boosted BST? Don't really see why her not getting "boosted BST" is an issue aside from, what, Arena? Again, I think this was more of just people expecting too much and being disappointed that they didn't get what they wanted.

There was a guy that saved every single orb he got in anticipation of gerome being added to the summoning pool. He saved for over a year waiting for gerome, and when gerome was added, guess what? Limited unit. IS betrays everyone that likes a unit whenever they make a unit limited, and right now I almost feel as shitty as those people that hoard their orbs only to have their favorite character get shafted.

You mean how like my favorite character has next to no chance of appearing, and how I saved orbs since February for this event expecting Armor Healer Celica?

I don't see the logic on saying Veronica isn't worth to be summoned compared to the other 3. Wrazzling Peshkatz is amazing, she has good speed too, stick Savage Blow 3 seal on her and she will be an amazing debuffer. I should know since I chose her as my freebie. Low BST makes sense since she's a healer cavalier tho I do agree, having less BST than Elise kinda sucks

They want Veronica (but not that Veronica) to follow a cohesion based on character development of Veronica (that Veronica) and her relation to Xander to symbolize their bond, even though making Veronica (not that Veronica) fit the mold of Veronica (that Veronica) doesn't make sense, especially since in the plot, she is, you know, busy.

I mean, this Veronica is not the same as in-story Veronica so idk why would people want Veronica as a clone of Xander (in fact, this is the first time I've ever seen this). I'm pretty sure people were expecting a sword Hector more than a sword Veronica :/

This is what I meant by higher BST. She should have the highest out of all the healers, especially since she is a SPECIAL BRAVE UNIT.

Yeah, it's a bit of a shame that she is in a lower bracket than Elise, but it's not a huge deal. The (sort of) redeeming factor is that she has a 14 mt weapon, which is 4 more mt than the more popular healer weapons (pain, gravity) and 2 more mt than the less popular ones (like slow). It basically puts her final stats (with weapon) to the same level (although still with a worse scoring in arena).

This is exactly what has been missing from this thread. Now it feels like a proper facebook discussion.

I would attempt to input my opinion here, as I actually do like what they did with Veronica, but seeing the carnage ensuing here, it'd be a waste of my time. I'd rather just hit the hay.

Well, after reading all those comments, I have to say that I don't really share your opinion.
I think just making her a Xander clone would have been cheap beyond reason for IS, as there are several DC swords already. Also I don't think she ended up short, you have to remember that she was only in 2nd place and on the CYL last year Lucina and Roy didn't get boosted BST either. Sure, Ephraim is also just 2nd place and has boosted BST, however he is an Armored unit.
Also you stated that Veronica is tied for the lowest BST, which is not correct as the mage dancer are one bin below Veronica plus with an HP (super-)boon Veronica reaches a 145 BST, meaning a higher bin and BST doesn't matter THAT much for arena ranking anyway; merges and SP cost are much more significant for arena scoring.

So to conclude this: I don't think they messed her up that bad, sure, her weapon is not ground breaking or anything, but is any of those weapons (apart from Celica's) really? Hector's is just a Slaying - OG Armads and Ephraim's is a +Atk - Siegmund-esque weapon. I understnad that you are disappointed in your expectations, but I for one wouldn't blame IS for this.

Someone need to take a step back and chill. I understand a lot of people are miffed over CYL2 but so what. It’s come. It’s happened. You deal with it. People have been mad before but what are you going do other than complain to this website.

I agree, Veronica got duped on with her BST and should have had a bigger set. Am I mad she’s a cavalier healer? A tad. I waned OG green tome Veronica to show up but I’m not mad. She’s got a useful staff, some good skills for fodder and a new balm that I kind wanna put on my Clarine.

She was never gonna be a Xander clone, IS wouldn’t do that. Sure Xander is basically her father at this point but seeing Veronica use a sword despite being shown to only use magic would be jarring. So just work with what you’ve been given.

If you’re this mad just take a break from the game. You’re thinking that IS has betrayed you so take a break. Regardless, it’s a company not a commission artist. They’re gonna do what they think would work. They aren’t gonna please everyone, and by pleasing some people they’re gonna displease others. One person is not who they care about, it’s the majority. And you crying about how Veronica isn’t what I wanted her to be, isn’t gonna solve anything except make you look like everything about this game should go how I want it to, which comes off as bratty and childish.
