Which heroes should get weapons? (+Donnel weapon idea)

Answers

i would like to see a weapon that got powered up by the number of retainers on the field... that would be fun

So like a bond skill but it increases by each unit near the unit as a weapon? I feel like there's already either a skill or weapon about that already but i don't know if i'm right

Odin
Missiletainn
14 mt
Grants Atk/Spd +3. During combat, adds total bonuses on foe to unit, then bonuses become penalties on foe. Deals +15 damage when Special triggers.

Figured it's something different from the regular Bladetome build. :P

Report

Wow, he might actually be viable with that, and he might actually be used outside of Skill Inheritance. Or whales. Or just people who are SUPER dedicated to him. Yeah that would be nice.

Report

I will admit it’s different and that it would power up Odin, but you gotta admit, that’s a pretty broken weapon in general. Most new PRF weapons are made to move units into the new unique game. None are really too op and even if there is a strong effect, there is some caveat. That one just seems to be powerful just for the sake of it.

Report

I mean.. there's Ayra and Ayra's Blade, Karla and Vassal's Blade, Grima and Expiration, Dark Mystletainn, and some others that are "powerful" for the sake of being powerful.

But yeah, maybe the added damage to Specials is a bit much.

Well I’ll do an edit to yours, since it does have some interesting ideas. Lord knows Odin needs it.

Misstletainn
14 might
Grants Atk +3. Damage calculated using the lower of foe's Def or Res.

Refined effect: When special triggers, grants +10 damage.

A lot more sensible and it is a pretty good upgrade that is at the very least plausible. Plus it helps his atk, which was his real weak point.

Report

Aw, but I liked the idea of "absorbing" the foe's bonuses and "cursing" them with debuffs in the process.

It gave him more of a unique vibe. :<

Report

Ok when you say it like that it’s more interesting. Maybe the new base effect could be similar to the Peshkatz? It does do that idea justice.

I don't think Hana really needs a refine, but I would appreciate one:

Hana's Katana (maybe Hagakure Blade)
16 Might
Effective against Armor foes.
Refine: Life and Death or Swift Sparrow

It's really simple, but it enphasizes her role as a great tank buster. I could go more overboard with the effect, but I think that this is rather reasonable considering the other two Armor-effective weapons, Wing Sword and Rhomphia, just got Flashing Blade.

Report

I was thinking about adding that effect to a theoretical refine, as well. The more effects, the better. (Unless it's something like Takumi's refine, then no thank you.)

Saizo: Mirrored Dagger

14mt: if enemy initiates, add 15% of enemy's atk as damage (so it will get added to Saizo's total dmg).
Inflict def/res debuffs after combat just as any dagger does.

Refine: Omnistance: +3 atk/spd/def/res when enemy initiates.

That’s a really great concept! The stronger the opponent, the more damage he’ll do. It would definitely make him a very min/max risk based character. Plus, it practically screams a close counter build, which really fits his surprisingly good physical bulk. I think that would be a great weapon for him.

Report

Exactly. It's pretty much designed to further improve his close counter matchups and makes that skill a must-have if you want to maximize his potential, which can be seen as a huge disadvantage tho, since it's kind of a rare skill.

It would add like 8dmg to your attack in most cases (when enemy has 50dmg), which also might be a bit much, but because of the low 15% scaling, the further increases wouldn't be too dramatic.

Report

Out of all the given weapons (besides mine), this one definitely seems to be the easiest to imagine. Well, the Hana one is probably more likely, but this idea is so unique that I love it. I love it.

Report

Yeah, I could also imagine something like this. As it would be on a dagger unit, it wouldn't be used in high tier arena too much, because of his low bst, so it wouldn't even be too disruptive to the overall game.

I was also toying with the idea of not just adding that 15% of enemy atk to your dmg, but reducing enemy's attack by 15% and then adding that number to your dmg - so if enemy has 50atk, it would lower it by 8* (7,5) and add that number to your damage afterwards.
This thing would probably make him unkillable tho, so I scrapped that.
