To be fair, Intelligent Systems did kinda screw up her normal variant when adding her to FEH. As much as I don't like Tharja, she's really not like that, lol.

It's kind of difficult to compare her to Tharja, who can utilize vengeful fighter and armor buffs, but I get your point. Sophia will do fine for the most part, I guess. Her biggest disadvantage is her color, since her baiting potential is kind of hindered by the abundance of blue threats in arena, but it shouldn't be a big problem when you check those with her teammates

It's a good Sophia. I remember seeing some variant of this being popular back when the Brave banner came out because she could check B!Lyn, B!Ike, and B!Roy.

It can work, but you're going to need help from a teammate against strong sword specials like Regnal Astra and Black Luna.

Kind of. It's an extreme example, I'll admit. But I'm assuming Sophia will need to handle melee tanking if she has Close Counter, but this keeps her from doing anything that can stop those skills.

A Slaying Weapon, along with Vengeful Fighter or Steady Breath can help a defender fire off Bonfire or Ignis to kill Ayra/Zelgius on the first counter hit. This Sophia can't do any of those things.

Gwendolyn- Berkut Lance, DC, Vengeful
Sophia- Owltome, CC, Qr
Camilla- slaying axe, DC, Qr
Kagero- Barb shuriken, Brazen Atk/Spd, Desp

How important is it for your Gwendolyn to kill something?

With Wary Fighter instead of Vengeful her killing potential takes a nosedive, but the only things that kill her are things that your Sophia should be able to handle.

Gwendolyn is +7 merged and well she is going to be used to bait the red opposition so my future Camilla will be safe, but I totally get your point about Sophia having the same job as Gwendolyn; I also invested a lot in her, but she's an absolute tank and helps.
