4 star vs 5 star +10

720 for tier 20 arena? Last i checked it was closer to 730.....

Bec you will usually have to have 3 highly merged 5* units to carry the bonus unit of the week. And 4* +10 are just barely carying their own weight so they dont have enough in them to carry the bonus unit. Theyre good if theyre the bonus unit....but not as much if theyre part of ur arena core........

Heads up, I am in the eternal loop of switching between teir 20 and 19.
I Use merged 5*( which at the moment are +5 at most) and I don't get to stay in teir 20 (since My range is 720 and lower).

So basically 4*+10 units alone won't get you to stay in teir 20( since from the maths a 4*+10 is equivalent to a 5*+5 or +4) you need High merged 5* units with high SP cost skills.( you can use 1 4*+10 unit but the other units need to be 5* high merged)

I've played with the arena score calculator; 4*+10 just isn't going to do it.

My main recommendation against 4*+10 is on units you could potentially want to invest heavily into. 4*+10 is what you do with a unit you don't care much about but who doesn't have special fodder potential and whom you might otherwise send home. For some people, this could include Nowi, who's one of the best arena units. My list of 4*+10: Est, Serra, Sophia, Virion, Cecilia (except she's a slow one, because her tome is good and escape route has a niche role). Contrast this list to units I really like and want to spend my precious feathers on and want to feel that I'm spending my feathers on: Nowi and Felicia to start with, later on Eirika, Caeda, Cordelia, Raven, list goes on. For a lot of people, Felicia is a 4*+10 if not send home. 4*+10 vs 5*+10 is, if you ask me, first and foremost a question of who you want to spend a lot of resources on. And if you don't want to spend a lot of resources on anybody, I can only wish, pessimistically, that you limit that attitude to the game, because investing time and energy is part of attachment and enjoying something deeply. (Pessimistically, not because I know you, but because your attitude toward the game would be about all I have to go off of.)

My experience with 4*+10 is that even with a team of all 4*+10 you're not going to score much higher than 700 unless they're all heavily invested armor units. It really is a waste of Raven's to merge him at 4*, and in my experience 4*+10 is a double-edged sword at best. I have done it with plenty of units, although for some I regret not 5*ing them

I'm actually building a similar Raven that's 4* supermerge, but I also don't plan on using him in my core Arena team. 4* +10 is great for bonus units, but even if you could get into T20 with a full 4* supermerge team now, the threshold is just going to keep increasing as more and more people get access to merges on their 5* armors.

That being said, Raven's BST being below 160 kind of hurts his Arena potential anyway but is still a great unit for PvE or Arena Defense. I say keep 4* merging him, as long as you have other units that are your 5* merge projects.

4*+10 don't score the same as 5*+5, as stats gained from merges don't increase BST, the number of merges is counted separately. If the character is in your arena core and you're aiming for tier20 then you have to have them at 5*+10, while for those outside you core i recomend getting them at 4*+10, i myself have an arena core of 5*+10 and i still have to avoid some matches to be sure to stay in tier20
