We really need other goals to aim for...

Honestly I think rival domains was just a stress test for things they have planned. It allows for far more options when the map can be opened so much. I think the customizable castle is inescapable at this point.
However! I believe any new modes won't be seen for months. Usually they tease a couple months in advance.

the idea of having modes that requires heavy strategy is one of the ideas
on most every players mind since we want a challenge.

but a peaceful mode is quite a good idea but it might be one of those "good in paper but bad in practice". if IS is gonna give us a mode a peaceful mode then they gotta make it good so that it won't be bad in practice.

The GHB and BHB are always a challenge, if you don't use a F2P guide.
I finished the Chrom & Lissa BHB, with 3 dancers and a 4* Saizo(Smoke Dagger+), took me 4 tries, but the pleasure of doing that is amazing.
Who needs Jaffar when you have a Angry Ninja.

Report

Oh yeah, GHBs. I have seriously no idea how to beat the last three quest of the rotation. I need to fight with Flier Emblem. Unless I ever pull Airzura, this will remain a bad joke for me xD

Report

Mine too. But except for Robin and Xander the quests are quite ok. I just don't have Hone Fliers. Whenever I get my hands on that my SCorrin will get the rage mode to clear at least Ursula's map for me. And I think Xander and Robin are nearly impossible without a dancer. At least on the level of my fliers.

Report

The Emblem quests of the GHB elite are the best challenge on the game right now, i finished most of them.
The most funny is the Armor Emblem and the worst are the Cavalry, how can i win Robin battle without a horse powerful like W! Tharja or V! Ike.

Report

Sigurd can take a hit, Reinhardt, B!Lyn and Cecilia kill whatever may come. Just as an example.

I really finished all but three for Fliers. My Emblems are great, just my Flier Emblem sucks.

And I actually liked Infantry best. Jaffar in rage mode xD

Report

I have all them, except for Sigurd.
I was thinking that he can tank all the hits, is good to know that someone have tried that. A full buffed Xander can't handle the situation even with QR and Noontime(almost work for the first turn, almost).

My Flier Emblem is very good, i have Summer Corrin(Sea Tome+Spd), Nowi(Grimoire), Caeda(Wing Sword), Beruka(Slaying Axe+Def), Myrrh, Cordelia(Brave Lance+ and Cherche(Brave Axe+).
Everyone stay together everytime to a better use of Support and buffs.

I hope that IS make more of those rotations GHB, one year is much time to wait for 7 new(maybe every 6 months XD)
And add a Dragon Emblem quests too

Report

Yeah, Dragon Emblem sounds good!

My best Flier is Summer Corrin +Spd and my Cherche. But that's it sadly, I do also have Minerva, Camilla and SCamilla, but that's not a team. Those are simply random green units which can not take a hit from Xander...

I really miss Hone Fliers, because then I could play Blade-tome builds with Vantage and the maps are done xD

Report

I wish that i have S! Camilla and Minerva(i have your brother and sister, please come).

I don't use bladetomes, but with vantage it should be fun, i used a bait-kill strategy for the first few turns on Xander, then Galeforce Cordelia shinny.

The Lloyd battle is very crazy with fliers, you need to move your units from one side to another of river to kill them separately.
Some enemies making a eternal zig-zag, is one of the most funny things that i have seen XD

Report

Oh. I honestly always forget about Lloyd, I don't use him and I'm done with his maps, so he is totally out of my mind again ^^'

Wait, I remember. I actually just attacked, waited for them all to come and flew to the other side of the river to let them run all day. Was funny too xD

I ONLY use Blade-tomes with Vantage. It is so damn funny to see maps completing themselves because the AI decides to attack Blade Cecilia with anything he has. Most beatiful thing you can see ; )

Report

I wanted to do it with a totally random team I had put together for HM. Failed three times, gave up and finished on first try with my arena team. They may all have full SP and Merrit but at least they can do the job without babying.

Report

I suggested on the survey that Arena Assault have only 5 battles instead of 7, i like AA and the rewards, but takes much time to make a Deathless run.

I really love rival domains, but a mode where you can't use stamina don't help when we have nothing else to do in the game.
Maybe they should make more story/paralogues/ghbs to entertain us when nothing is happening, i don't like to waste stamina so i just grind for HM, is boring you know, but is all that i have.

Report

5 battles would be so much easier...

And yeah, I feel you there. I usually also have my stamina rotting all day. Not to mention my 400 stamina potions...

It'd be pretty cool if they added more interaction with other players.
I'm talking about Real Time Arena (RTA).
Imagine something like a pick/bans phase where the players take turns at banning and picking.
I'll think that a 4 man team can be very strong, so I'd suggest that after the picks end, the players can ban one of the enemy units.
This brings mental games to the table, if all your strategy is built around having a dancer buff up your nuker and take out the enemy. If the other player chooses to ban your dancer your nuker will be crippled and it'll be more balanced that way. You have to build your strategy around units that have a lot of synergy between them.
We could also say "you can't repeat the color when picking" but that seems kinda dumb to me.
After the picks and bans, they go into a "pick the map" phase. Where the game provides a list of available maps and the players can decide which one they think will help them with their strategy. If they dont choose the same map it'll be a 50/50 situations, and the RNG gods will pick
(Because I hope I'm not the only one that sometimes gets defeated by some stupid designed maps).
Now, the gameplay:
So I was thinking all of this and found that it's not that simple to incorporate the normal FE formula in this game.
The main problem is that if you have a heavily offensive team you can take out ever unit the enemy has in one turn (ofc, If you see the other player picking nukers, you will pick counters to them). This means that the one that gets the first turn will always have the advantage.
The main problem is making a system that it's fair to both players.
I was thinking about having one player pick one of his units and move them, then the other player picks his and so on.
It'll be like a 1 turn 1 move kinda thing.
I don't think that'd be fun.
What are your thoughts about this?, Do you think it's possible to have a system that makes the arena fair for both parties?, If so, what would be the main changes??, Or RTA is an utopic idea?

Report

Well I like your thoughts here. One problem with RTA is the internet connection. As FEH is a mobile game, people may play it in the train, at work, or in what situations ever, where either the connection can be lost, or players need to put their phone away quickly and stuff like this. That's just the first point. But I guess we could even ignore this.

I like the idea of banning a hero. That's really cool! Definetely makes the match more interesting.
For the turns I'm afraid there might be no other choice then letting the RNG decide who starts. The system of the trading card games might work here: whoever starts cannot attack in the first turn. So if you see you have three BLyns incoming you can at least prepare.

I guess it's practicable. Although I think there will be a lot of errors, Nintendo usually tries to keep those the least possible. Not even PoGo has a RT-PVP mode yet.

Report

Yeah I guess on paper it's a good thing, but Nintendo usually doesn't make a lot of experimentation so we won't be seeing this in a while, if not ever.
But we can dream...

I am waiting for the day that IS decides to make the classic FE experience authentic with a mode where the summoner loses his divine weapon, meaning any unit that dies in battle cannot be revived. It would bring a whole new challenge to this game, but it could also be the death of many players who attempt it before they are ready.

Report

oh my god, are you crazy.
i'll never play this mode, one mistake and BOOM my unit is gone, when i play Xcom and lose a unit i always load a save state. I can't afford this price.

Report

Exactly! It's ok - if you can reload. FEH meets SAO is not really what I intended...

But I could live with either a reload-option or getting back the weapon after you finished the mode. Sounds like a cool idea for the story. (Like "Ok guys, whatever dies after you started chapter seven died in chapter seven. Will be revived in Chapter eight. See you in a month!")

Report

I'd love this in the way of Squad Assault. That you can replace heroes with low HP with others, not just having an empty team slot.

I'm actually not really willing to lose my heroes. Just imagine you do not pay attention one day and suddenly your Michalis died and is gone forever. This seems... kinda bad...

Report

I gave IS this idea on the survey, reserve heroes can a have a lot of potencial and with the big maps...

Maybe they spawn from a fortress that you hold, but you can choose instead of organize before the battle.
