When is Hardin better than B!Hector?

Answers

I dont think you undesrtand what powercreep is.
Athena vs Mia is powercreep because mia does everything athena can do, better.
Hardin vs Bector isnt powercreep becausetheir stats are completely different.

I said 'powercreep', not powercreep for a reason.

You can't tell me that there aren't more than a few people who see it this way. With this post asking people disprove it. In a way.

- When trying to tank on res
- When tanking units that have 26-32 spd
- When using fortress def/res

Def/Res Bond > Fortress Def/Res for me now.

I agree with this but to add on he has DC built in so he can use his A slot for more stats or effects.
I think he's also better with VF

Allow me:

Hardin is one of the best lance units in the game, he was at his release, and still is right now. Armors are at the peak of their game and like Bector, he comes with Bold Fighter and a really good kit out of the gate, but not at brave level. Hardin has two legs up on Hector: BST and his weapon. Indeed, Hardin only has 1 more BST, but his stats in general are all so well distributed that he can use EVERY single stat effectively. The only other unit I think can do that is Liki. The second one is also a big one: Gradivus, which has built in Distant Counter. This is huge considering Hector needs to dedicate his A slot to a DC skill since Maltet lacks one, and Hardin can run other stuff like breaths without having to use it.

Brave Hector may lose stat wise to Hardin, but he wins in the kit department. As with brave units, he comes with an ideal base kit. Maltet doesn't possess DC because if it did, it would be the best weapon in the game seeing as it has both a slaying effect AND Quick Reposte 5. He comes with a POWERCREPT DC a skill that also grants attack and defense on enemy phase in general. Along with Hardin, he comes with bold fighter as well. Lastly, he comes with Ignis to deal alot of damage, and a res wave c skill to patch his meh res.

Both are extremely powerful, one does not usurp the other. Hector is just above Hardin because his ideal kit IS his bast kit and the tier list takes into account how much investment a unit requires to excel in regards to placement. Then again, with any build, almost any unit can be Tier 1.

Urgh why can't I upvote now..

One point though, I don't think any unit can be tier one, or even close.
When comparing units, some will score higher when compared.
Unique weapons and skills, stand out stats ect.
You can tell me Clive can be build to be useful, you can't tell me he won't perform worse than many of his peers.

I said most heroes, some can't really be saved lol. The tier list is organized primarily on how much investment it takes to make a unit really good, I think it says that in the description somewhere. I understand where you're coming from tho.

The only thing that hardin has over hector is being able to run warding breath to get off aethers every turn on enemy phase. Allowing him to have a free s slot.

Hector can also run aether but he needs heavy blade.

Hardin has more spd so he runs a risk of being inconsistent. Hector is basically running a useless skill on PP

hardin +def-spd : bonfire, SS4, BF, QR.
70/55 bulk

hector +def-spd : ignis, Ostian, BF, CD(DD)-brazen-bond.
71(77)/52(58) - 71/59 - 76/52 bulk

hector hit harder, have better specials, a bit tankier, but die to specials.
hardin has weaker atk, weaker specials, weaker defense, can deny specials.

if 2-3 options was what you call flexible then yeah.
he is mostly gonna use breath or stance4 anyway.
if darting breath were a thing, I guess you can make a speedy hardon, that way he will be much more bulkier than bhector.
