Help on elincia iv

I'm running +Spd/-Def on my Elincia. And honestly, just keep her away from things you cannot kill on your first initiation and you don't have to worry about your defense. Keeping her defense does almost nothing for her.
I am still inexperienced so you should probably wait for further advice.

Well it sounds like you're going to sac the rest for Flier Formation i'm assuming? - or are you wondering who gets stuffed into what?

Keep her weapon.
if it were me. i'd do +res/-hp (mine is the opposite, and i was like. the abiity to have run a res ploy would have been great), though. you could keep the speed (and feed everything else into her, patching up the hp. she's squishy anyway, so use Flier formation to your advantage and get her out of danger

(also throw reposition on her).
mine has Repo/Goad Fliers (and she's earning SP for Desperation, though she's the main stay on my flier emblem, so she might just keep flier formation and once i get a sothe, give her LND. (or if i get someone i hate with Swift Sparrow, that).

That's not very good advice, honestly. 31 Res, in my eyes, isn't enough to justify choosing that over +Spd on a offense-oriented unit. With +Spd, she hits 37 Spd with her weapon, and 41 if you give her Swift Sparrow (also 49 Atk). Hone Fliers pushes that to 55 Atk/47 Spd. That makes for a lot of units she can quad. 21 Def with bane surely isn't great, but you can counteract that (Fortify, Desperation), so it's nothing she really needs outside of some very few scenarios. Also, that additional speed should help her avoiding doubles, meaning that she takes less damage, while +Res/-HP will lower her physical bulk for magical, and she doesn't need her magical bulk that much. If you want a Ploy-user, use someone like Eir, who comes with more Res thanks to her weapon at neutral out of the box than Elincia with +Res.

Really good perspectives here, now I'm switching from brave to pallas refine since I have a better brave in elincia now. What's this I hear about cancel affinity ruby sword? Does this make her regular sword unit or colorless essentially? Is it Just best to slap sword breaker or renewal to help tank with michalis. Was gonna give fortify to elincia with desperation to bypass the counter. Also fortify fuels the blade tome and palla/michalis tanking. Ceada would prob be the better red res flier which is easier to get.

The talk about Cancel Affinity on Palla comes from her new PRF and refine she got recently, which is basically a situational Brave Sword+ with TA and +3 to all stats slapped on under certain conditions (or a Ruby Sword+ with higher might and the other effects slapped on, depending on perspective).
The weapon description with refine:

Whitewing Blade (+Eff)
If unit has weapon-triangle advantage, boosts Atk by 20%. If unit has weapon-triangle disadvantage, reduces Atk by 20%. If the number of flying allies within 2 spaces ≥ 2, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+3 during combat. If unit initiates combat, unit attacks twice.

The idea behind giving her CA is to cancel out the TA effect on the PRF. It lets her survive the occasional blue, and screws over the rare blue with TA. However, CA is mostly there to make her PRF suck less and her survive when she's attacked by a blue. Plus, the in-combat buff to all her stats is very nice.
Some people say the TA effect on the sword is fine or even great; others who tested her with that weapon say she doesn't need it, and that it's often more detrimental. Personally, I'm in the second corner.

Overall, yes Caeda is likely the better pick; her weapon is unquestioningly great, she got a decent statline, and she's actually a good pick should you want a Ploy-user as mentioned before and don't want to use Eir or a mage Res-tank for that job.

Hmm I see how it can be a double edged sword, I have investments in the sisters but prob gonna stick with catria for the refine (beautiful stat spread). 200 dew is a lot after all. Including ceada would patch up the team's susceptibility to magic/dragons. I'll test it out, can slap a flier buff and a ploy seal or dual ploys
