Tier 1
Tier 1 units consists of heroes who excel in the current metagame: they are among the strongest in the game and bring overwhelming strength to their respective roles. Many Tier 1 heroes are incredibly powerful, and can perform exceptionally well in almost any team with little reliance on external support. They have phenomenal matchups against the majority of units.
Tier 2
Tier 2 units are among the strongest in the game. These units will have fantastic matchups against many common Arena threats, making them some of the strongest choices for a core Arena team. With an ally or summoner support, and a synergistic team composition, many of these units can be just as powerful as those in Tier 1.
Tier 3
Tier 3 units are powerful additions to most teams, with great matchups against common units. These heroes are more than capable in their favoured roles, and many possess strong stat-lines and powerful unique weapons. With that said, they can still perform their given role well with great success. These heroes can perform exceptionally well given the right support, rivalling heroes in the upper tiers, though they may be more reliant on this support than other heroes in the tiers above..
Tier 4
Tier 4 units are strong in most teams, with good matchups against common units. Most of these heroes may be more niche or have less specialised stat distributions than units in the above tiers, or will be more dependant on certain skills, but they can still perform their given role well. They may be less effective that units in the above tiers however. Some of these heroes can be somewhat reliant on team support or a sacred seal to perform as well as units in higher tiers.
Tier 5
Tier 5 units have reasonable match-ups against most units, but may struggle to compete against other heroes, suffer from more prominent weaknesses, or provide more niche use to a team. These heroes are by no means weak, but they are less consistent choices for arena teams, and are much more reliant on team support and sacred seals to perform effectively.
Tier 6
Tier 6 units have middling matchups against most units, and will require considerable skill investment and support from the rest of the team to perform. Many of these heroes will require a summoner support or ally support to repair awkward stat lines, whereas others are generally outclassed by units in the tiers above. With that said, Tier 6 units can be passable with enough investment.
Tier 7
Tier 7 units have poor matchups against most units, and will require heavy skill investment and support from the rest of the team to be viable. These units are hard to recommend: many of these units will demand a summoner support or ally support to augment their poor stat-lines, whereas others are outclassed by units in the tiers above or fill roles that are far too niche. Tier 7 heroes are recommended to be used as bonus heroes alone, as the heavy demand they place on team composition makes them too inconsistent for regular Arena play.
Tier 8
Tier 8 units have awful matchups against most units, and will require immense skill investment and support from the rest of the team to be usable. These units are among the worst in the game: many of these units will remain weak with a summoner support or ally support to salvage their poor stat-lines, and are outclassed by other heroes. Tier 8 heroes have no place in conventional Arena teams, outside of their comedic value.
